Be thankful....for apples

When the last big storm rolled through, our local apple orchard had a ton of apples blown off the trees. They've got bushels and bushels of apples for sale now. I think I hear a fresh baked apple pie calling my name soon! JustRite has picked a winner of a stamp too. This pretty little basket of apples is from the Autumn Blessings Borders and Centers stamp set. I love that JR is now carrying more images that can be colored with Copics. I chose to color my apples with both green and red...I love those rustic looking apples that you pick right off the tree. Ranger Glossy Accents dots the apples for a little shine.

I cut my colored image out with Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities die templates. The embossing gives the main layer some great texture and the red scallop layer really brightens up the apple image. Patterned papers are from K and Company. Kraft base card and ribbon are from Papertrey.
So here is my question of the day for you. Do you prefer cobblers or crisps? I made a peach crisp the other night and had to explain to the family what the difference was between a cobbler and a crisp. I definitely prefer a peach crisp or an apple crisp over cobblers. It's the oatmeal that does it for me. I love the yummy taste and the texture it gives the topping. And the cinnamon, definitely have to add some cinnamon.
Hope you have a warm and *crispy* kind of day! I'll be working in the stamp room today!!

Beautiful card. I definately prefer a crisp over a cobbler - it's the oatmeal and brown sugar that does it for me. I really enjoy your work and check out your blog daily.

Definitely prefer a crisp - oatmeal and brown sugar, and the texture. Love the warm look of this card and the shine of the apples. Living in Michigan, apples are such a huge part of our fall rituals. Thanks so much for the beautiful inspiration. Elizabeth S. in mid-Michigan

I just love crisps. Our family loves apple and peach, plus pears. I tried blueberry ones but it wasn't popular. Being a Michiganer, apples are everywhere and we are so happy about it.
That is a great card.

Love the card. I'm definitely a crisp lovin' girl -- although, down here in the South they seem to be all about cobblers. Give me oatmeal, brown sugar, and cinnamon anyday! And, my favorite crisp? Definitely rhubarb. Tart and sweet all at the same time. Mmmm.

Welllllll for me it's both. If it has some type of crust I am all over it. I love fruit and crust. PERIOD. Sorry I am no help.

I enjoy them both. Just love the card and the shine to your apples. This is a great set, I'm going to have to look at getting this one. Have a great day! :)

Love the card!

As for crisp vs. cobbler, my favorite is whichever one is served to me! I prefer cherry over apple, but if someone goes through the trouble to make a homemade crisp OR cobbler, I will happily eat it...whatever the fruit!

I love apple crisp..I don't use oatmeal, but use pecans with the brown sugar/flour/cinnamon/butter topping..The pecans taste so toasty and add the crisp to the top!

So love your card. I would love to live close by and maybe you would give me a lesson or two on how to get such wonderful results with copics. Your cards are always so cute and look so professional. Thanks so much for sharing all that you do. As for cobbler or crisp...my vote goes to crisp. Since I love the fruit so much, I just think the dough takes away from the taste. Crispy oatmeal, cinnamon, brown sugar, butter...what could be better sprinkled on a bed of luscious seasonal fruit. I think I’m off to bake a crisp. Thanks for the idea. Nancy So Cal

That card is gorgeous! Love it! I really love the look of the copic markers, I'm just afraid of the investment since I've never tried them myself.
I love apple crisp!

That is a hard decision to make because I like both very much. I'll say as long as I have a cup of coffee with either one I'm a happy camper.
Great card and I was glad to finally meet you at CHA in Florida.

The last few posts your cards have been outstanding, I love your work. You make it look so easy. I like apple crisp or peach crisp but love Blackberry cobbler or sour cherry cobbler, all that juice and dough!! I'm hungry!

Mish, you are so inspiring. I just love this card. You are on my list of daily blogs.

I have been making the Jr. Tablets like crazy for craft shows coming up. They are really fun and easy to make. Thanks for the GREAT idea. I have also seen some other ideas on your site that I will also be making. You make everything seam fun and easy.

BTW, I like the "Crisp" the best. I have lost my receipe for my easy crisp, so if you care to share yours, I would really appreciate it, of course, if it's a family secret receipe, maybe Duke will give it to me. lol Alice R.
