A twist on business cards...

This month I'm sharing a project over at the Gossamer Blue blog which I'm sharing here on my blog today too.  I'm heading out for vacation this month and it always seems I run into someone who I'd like to share my contact information.  So I thought some cute business cards were in order.  I grabbed some woodgrain patterned paper, labels I printed, some mini Instagrams I printed of my artwork, some Washi tape and the October Afternoon roller stamp.
You can find the dimensions for my business cards over at the Gossamer Blue blog.  They fold in half, with the artwork on the front with Washi tape underneath.....
.....and my contact information on the inside in the form of the printed address labels. I also stamped the sentiment on the inside of the cards.
A fun little twist and not too formal.  Just what I like.
I'll tuck these into my art bag and hopefully I'll meet up with some new friends while doing some watercoloring sketching.
Hope you enjoy!  Did you know I've taken up my art again?  I haven't shared much here on the blog but I post regularly on my Instagram account.  I'm "mishwooderson" if you care to take a peek.  If anyone is interested I can start sharing my artwork and fun supplies here on the blog too.  Chat about it in the comments if you like.  :)

Project Life....let's eat

Sharing another week of my Project Life today.  This week pretty much involves food photos and I used the August Gossamer Blue kits for my supplies.
We love it when garden season comes around because it's all about canning jams and veggies that we grew.  I used the "currently reading" card to list books that I've been reading and also websites that I've been following for art journaling, etc. I used my black pen to draw lines around a lot of the journaling cards just to give them a border.  I love lots of cards that provide ample writing space. I also don't mind using my fine tip Sharpie to journaling directly onto photos.
More food photos, iced coffees because when it's 101 degrees with 110 degree heat index, hot coffee is too much.  Also love the little mason jar night light my mom gave me as a souvenir from a recent trip.
Josey carried a melon.  Always love to quote that from Dirty Dancing.  Love this simple "EAT" card.  I stapled the July accent to it.
Journaling card with a flower die cut and enamel stickers.
Thanks for stopping by.  Right about now we're just returning from cooling off in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.

Project Life....July 13-26

This week's Project Life spread was created using the August Gossamer Blue kit.
We spent a lot of time getting ready for Jordan's Senior Photo shoot.  I love gathering up props and helping the girls pick out outfits for photos.  Jordan's photo shoot was so unique and just her style.
I'm going to start including photos of my watercolor sketches in my albums so that I can incorporate some of my art.  Zinnias from the garden, hay season and a cruise with the ladies. I'm embracing my handwriting so I love 3 x 4 cards with lots of white space for journaling.
Loved the VW bus chipboard sticker, perfect for Jordan's photo shoot pages.  I must admit that I designed this "wild child" stamp with my girls mind.  Jordan loves that song by Kenny Chesney. The Tom Petty quote made it on a stamp in last month's kits.
These page flips are included in a kit this month.  I used them a lot to add additional photos and journaling.
Thanks for stopping by!

Mason jar themed gifts...

It's a new month over at Gossamer Blue and the line up of kits is fantastic.  Using mostly the Bits & Pieces Kit, I created a set of six mason jar themed gifts.  I might have a little luncheon for some retired ladies or at the very least, I'll have some nice gifts ready in my stash.

I started out with some drawstring bags that I got at Michael's.  I layered up all of the adorable mason jar tags and filled them with sequins and punched paper flowers.
I stamped on some congratulations type stamps from the set in the Main Kit.  Definitely well suited for retirement gifts or just a fun little gift in general.  I tied on baker's twine from my stash and used a brown safety pin to attach the tags to the cloth bags.
Next I used the strawberry stamp in red ink and stamped them into a mason jar stamp from Michael's.
I used various patterned papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad plus added Washi tape and some enamel stickers to each card front.  More images from the Main Kit stamp set were added to the cards.
Reaching into my stash again, I grabbed some cello bags that I can use to hold a few candies or perhaps a baked treat.  I punched a mason jar from a punch I got at Target, outlined the jar image, then stamped on the "YAY" sentiment.
I attached the jars to the sacks with more of the pretty October Afternoon Washi tape.  The giant clothespins were from Michael's in that cheap section.
From my coveted collection of jams that I've been canning this season, I chose six of my prized Strawberry Peach Jams.
Each jar was topped with a punch circle label with some Washi tape underneath.
Here's a little look at what a recipient might receive.  The cards will be tucked into the cloth bag.  If I do a luncheon this ensemble will probably top the plates.  Otherwise, it all might be tucked into a Kraft handled sack with a strip of torn vintage sheet for wrapping.
Until then I'll just tuck all my goodies into my wire basket and them upon a shelf.
I hope you're inspired to create some gifts of your own.  Handmade....and always best in my opinion.  Have fun!

Be sure to check out the Gossamer Blue Design Team galleries over at the website.  The projects are just oozing with amazing-ness.
