2013 Project Life....Week 51

I'm sharing Week 51 of my 2013 Project Life......and yes, I've been mistakenly using the 2014 date stamp for my last two spreads.  I've had more comments and emails over that little mishap....maybe I'll just keep doing it just so I can get more comment and email love.  Thank you for the heads up, I've now corrected the mistakes. :)

Once again, for these last few weeks of my Project Life, I'm just including photos that provide an overview of the week.  Many are the same that I've used in my December Memories album but I want to make sure to cover all events in both albums.
In my December Memories album I went into more detail with the stories and added extra photos.  It was easy to just add the photos here without much detail.
On my right page, I added in a few more photos from a beautiful country drive we took in the snow.
The main, dated insert.
I loved this line from Pink Paislee so changed up the color scheme of this week to include this minty green color I love so much.
A filler insert using a vellum 3 x 4 piece and some sequins from my shop.
The photos from our country drive.
Very simple and quick this week as I'm ready to put away the holiday themed supplies.  One more week to go...I've got it all planned out and ready to print.  I'll share that last spread and the remaining pages of my December Memories album throughout the rest of the month and a little into February.  Thanks for joining me today.

2013 Project Life...Week 50

Happy Sunday to you.  I'm winding down on my Project Life 2013 album with Week 50 today.  Since I was so detailed with my 2013 December Memories mini album I decided to just make the last few weeks of my Project Life album be an overview.  I definitely want to include some of the same photos and stories because you never know when these albums might become separated or lost 100 years from now.
I kept the pages very simple because my second album for this year is getting a little snug.  I kept dimensional elements to a minimum so that I could be sure to just end up with two albums this year.  Yay!
I used Gossamer Blue journaling cards from the December Memories kits and a few monthly kit add-ons.  Grid Paper Labels were used for easy journaling.
This week came together pretty quickly since I had worked with most of these photos previously.
Now I am more than ready to move on from the Christmas and holiday themes.  I have Week 52 to finish up and several inserts for 2013 to add but I am well on my way to finishing it up the year.  Feels so good to wrap it up.  Enjoy!

2013 December Memories....pages 5, 9, 10, 14-16

Sharing more of my 2013 December Memories album, made with the 2013 Gossamer Blue December Memories Kit.

This is page 4 which shows photos from several deer hunting days.  A big family tradition so it's important for us to document this.
Page 9 shows some typed pieces of paper that I stitched with gold thread.  I created some lists of our holiday family traditions and showed a few photos of those traditions.
To create the lists, I typed the traditions on different lines, trimmed and stitched down the middle to adhere.
Page 20 with an insert for my hot cocoa station. Probably the most fun I had decorating this holiday season.
Here the insert which is two simple 4 x 6 photos back to back in a trimmed page protector.
Page 14 shows our wish lists.  I used Large White Tags from my shop and had each of us write down a few items.  I really wanted to show each family member's handwriting here.
Gold tags have the names stamped on them.
Day 15 shows the live wreath that we hung on the front door this year.  I've wanted a live wreath forever and finally found a beautiful one at a very good price.
I snapped a few photos and even captured the cats while they were watching me fiddle with the wreath.
I placed a second wreath on our chalkboard this season and loved it as well.  I drew some sprigs around the wreath, wrote the phrase inside the wreath....and the banner caption was done with an app on a photo.  Then I printed it.  I might just use that photo for a holiday card next year.  I kept some tags from the wreaths and clipped them into place.
Here's the 2 page spread without the insert.
A 5 x 7 insert showing an enlarged photo of our front door with the wreath.
The back side of that insert, showing how pretty the foliage was on this wreath.
Page 16 was all about holiday cards...ones I created and the ones we received.
I used a Becky Higgins pocket page to hold the photos and cards we received.  I trimmed off the flap and inserted a journaling card with a typed tag inside.
Here's the 2 page spread without the insert.
So colorful and cheery.  I placed stickers on one insert and stitched down the middle with gold thread.
On this page I used an old page from a card list book and stitched on some postage stamps I saved from Christmas card envelopes we received.
I'll be back to share some more pages of my album soon.

Stay tuned for tomorrow....I'll be starting a Workspace Wednesday blog series and will tell you all about it, starting with a Project Life helper in my work space.

Project Life 2014...Week 49 using January Gossamer Blue

Edit: For Elizabeth.....the ribbon on the pocket card is wrapped around the pocket...then the pocket is adhered to the outside of the page protector. I use this method for all my pockets so that you can access the tags easily.  Hope that helps!

A little Project Life 2013 sharing today.  I've got Week 49 up for viewing, which I created with Gossamer Blue January kits.  Here's the 2 page spread.
The left page.  Just after Thanksgiving and heading into Christmas season.
Deer season, cold cold temps, snow and decorating the Christmas tree.
Loved this 4 x 6 journaling card from the GB kits.  I fancied it up with vellum die cuts and lots of October Afternoon goodies.
Mmmm.  Best turkey pot pie ever using Thanksgiving leftovers.  I should really share this recipe soon.
The girls and their little Superfans from the junior high.  Loved stitching on the stars with gold thread.
The deer hunter and her fur hat that she loves to wear to track meets when it's cold.
A photo that also made it into my December Memories album.  Plus a fun pocket insert.
I used tags from my shop for journaling. Loved the October Afternoon phrase stamp from the January GB kits. I used a celery colored seam binding for a touch of ribbon.  I'll be bringing ribbon back to my projects for 2014.  I'm on the lookout for some fun and unique ribbons that I'll be sharing in the shop too.
And that's a wrap.  I'm progressing along with my Project Life/Life Pages.  I put the Christmas weeks behind so that I could focus on what photos I wanted in my December Memories album.  Now it's just reprinting some of those and adding some new ones into weeks 50, 51 ad 52.  Hope you enjoy!

2013 Project Life...Week 48

My Project Life Week 48 was created with the Gossamer Blue January Life Pages Kit.
This month's new Life Pages Kit is full of colorful journaling cards, exclusive GB wood veneer, October Afternoon Daily Flash Tin Pins, a stamp set, enamel dots and much more.
I had a lot of photos this week so it was easy to just fill in with journaling cards and a few embellishments.
I trimmed down a 4 x 6 journaling card and adhered it to a Gossamer Blue Basics 4 x 6 Journaling Card.  If you haven't added these to your stash, I highly recommend them for your Project Life.  In the set you get an assorted package of 28 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 basic journaling cards.  The designs are very neutral with some fun ledger, notebook, grid, etc patterns. Here you can also see the exclusive Life Pages stamp set in action.  The words are all on one stamp and stamp inside and above the arrow stamp.
How about this 3 x 4 size of exclusive wood veneer.  It looks fun placed over any journaling card or you can use it to make a fun sequin shaker card, etc. For some extra journaling on this week's spread, I typed my journaling on my Grid Paper Labels.  You just run the sheet through your typewriter, stick to a photo or journaling card and trim if you only need a partial part of a label. These are another staple item I like to keep with my Project Life supplies.
Here I created a flipper pocket so that I could add a little more to our day of shopping.
Here's to a great new year of Project Life.  I'd love to know your plans for Project LIfe 2014.  Are you doing 12 x 12 pages?  Smaller pages?  Weekly, monthly?  Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Project Life 2013, Week 47 using December Gossamer Blue

Today I'm sharing Week 47 of my Project Life 2013.  This week got mixed up just a bit because I planned my pages as usual but forgot that I used a different page protector design the week before.  No worries though I just rearranged a few things and trimmed photos in half here and there.
This week's layout uses products from the Gossamer Blue December kits.  I loved the plum color in the December kits. Here's the left page which is where I had to get creative with my inserts.  I had them already completed so my best option was to just trim them in half.  I had one open 4 x 6 slot so I kept my main, dated insert in tact and just shifted it to the right instead of the usual left hand corner slot.
Tons of photos this week so every slot has a photo with added embellishments and journaling.
Lots of fun embellishing this month.  I printed a tiny photo of the book I was reading and adhered it over a larger photo of me actually reading the book.  And then there's Charlie, letting me know he's right there.
I got a little fancy with the dated insert.  Such pretty colors, stickers, chipboard and I'm loving the photo corners still.  Gold stitching creates a subtle border to frame all the elements. I'm about ready to switch out that gold thread soon.
The end of November brought on the list making.  I love photos like this showing my planner, my never ending sticky notes, a cup of coffee and a stack of books and cookbooks.  Let the list making begin.
When I watched Becky Higgins' podcast on Project Life, she suggested keeping a photo of your wedding day out in plain sight.  So I moved ours to the living room that day.  The girls instantly saw it and asked questions.  This is an insert I had to trim in half.
Hello sock buns, courtesy of the Josey.  My hair is so thick, I had the biggest sock bun ever.  I love this photo of us.
I tried something new here.  I recorded the first fire of the season, started by Josey and I.  I used a vellum envelope to create a hidden journaling pocket.
The envelope opens from the side and my journaling tag slips in under the photo.
Loved this "good eats" journaling card.  It was perfect for my Jimmy Johns photos.  The "hello kitty" insert was a favorite.  So natural and woodsy looking.  I love it when I find a kitty at antique stores.  Reminds me of the time when my mom and dad actually brought me home a cat from an antique store.  It was a calico kitty (my favorite) and the owners needed to find her a new home.
Jordan sneaking a lick from the brownie bowl.  Watching Becky's 3 day video.  So inspiring.
More camo.  This time Josey sitting out in our timber and Josey with new camo shoes.
Here I have a fun pocket insert created with the December Life Pages stamp set.  You can find my tutorial over at the Gossamer Blog for how I use the stamps and some good tips and  tricks.  I also have to mention the insert on the right.  This photo showed the perfect transition from Fall to Winter.  I had my Fall wreath but also my favorite green scarf hanging on the hall mirror.  Love finding everyday things likes this.
Another week in the books.  I just completed some December Memories pages up to day 17 so I'll be sharing those next week.  Also the January Gossamer Blue kits will be available soon so stay tuned for some sneak peeks of my Life Pages.

Coming in 2014.....
I've got a new monthly feature coming to my blog that I think will be so inspiring which also means new items coming to my shop.  Also, I'm putting a twist on Ali's One Little Word.  I'd like to wrap up my holiday posts which just got away from me so look for my holiday cards and holiday cocoa station coming soon.  Is it me or did the late Thanksgiving date just throw everyone off this year?  I think I need to plan my holiday happenings  a lot sooner next year.
