Project Life 2014.....Week 16

Edited for question:  I print my square photos at 2.5" x 2.5" with a white border for the 3 x 4 inserts.

Hey everyone, hope all my American friends had a good July 4th.  We celebrated Josey's birthday too so it's always a fun celebration with friends and family.  Today I'm sharing Week 16 of my Project Life 2014.  This week uses Gossamer Blue June kit items and stamps.  I'll be sharing the July release items with my upcoming Project Life posts.

Really loved the finished look of this week's spread. The grays and yellows were just my style.
Here's the left page.
Here's the right page.
Loved this 4 x 6 designed by our in house Gossamer Blue designers.  Perfect for adding letters for the week # and I also stitched on a sticker with some Washi tape overlay + used the fun puffy stickers by Evalicious.
Softball was in full swing, always have to capture a few photos of the girls with their besties.
I love side by side photos of the girls.  These photos of the girls in their camo + their signature faux diamond earrings + fun sunglasses + camo caps were just too fun.  I used two chipboard letters and a big gold ampersand along with some typed journaling on a Notebook Paper Label.
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs always make a presence for Easter at our house.  I used another Notebook Paper Label with typed journaling and layered it with a tag from a Gossamer Blue kit.
On to the 3 x 4 inserts.  I used some journaling cards from the June kits + I created a few of my own using patterned paper and some machine stitching. Loved the puffy stickers from Evalicious so much this month.
This little foodie sticker from the Kelly Purkey sheet for Basic Greay was perfect for my homemade spaghetti sauce photo.
More typed Notebook Paper Labels.  If you like adding square photos, these labels fit perfectly beneath them for journaling. The star stamps are from the Gossamber Blue kits.
My Mind's Eye made an appearance in this month's kits.  Loved this oval embellishment on a Gossamer Blue journaling card.
One of my favorite photos paired with my favorite stamp from the June kits.  I have always loved ledger lines and typewriter fonts so I designed this stamp & Elle's Studio brought it to life perfectly.
Love the little clustering of elements on these inserts.
Another favorite stamp from the June Life Pages stamp set.  The Sat/Sun stamp lets you type in or hand write a little recap of the weekend.  Love that look so much. Need a little "something" to add to an insert?  A little tape slipped under a photo might be the perfect graphic element.  Here I used a Medium Manila Parcel Tag along with some staples.
I'll be sharing more Project Life weeks soon which will showcase the July Gossamer Blue kits.  Stay tuned.

In shop news, I'll be adding lots of greeting cards back into the shop.  I've had lots of card customers over the years and I know it's nice to just purchase a card sometimes for inspiration or to add to your stash.  Look for new additions to be added often.
There's also some fun vintage and handmade items in the shop like this Set of 6 Pink Floral Napkins.
Look for new supply items to be added to the shop starting late Summer or early Fall.  I'll also be adding in more card kits with fun embellishments and pretty papers, like this Green Typewriter with Pretties Kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I enjoy your company and so appreciate the patronage to my little shop.

Project Life 2013, Week 42 with Evalicious

Today I'm sharing Week 42 of my Project Life 2013.  For this week, I used Evalicious products as a guest designer feature.  You can read the full post at Eve's blog here.  I love all of Eve's great products. They have such a graphic feel and the colors stay neutral so you can use them for every occasion.
You can see more closeup photos over at the Evalicious blog along with how I used the products.  Here's my 2 page spread.

If you haven't tried them out yet, I highly encourage all the Project Life fans to give Eve's products a try.  There are journaling cards, tags, flair badges, stamps and more.  Such great quality and I highly recommend.  Thanks for stopping by today.

I'll have a post up soon about my crafting day with my friend Carmen.  Here's a peek at what we made....

Project Life 2013...Week 10

Here's my Week 10 of Project Life 2013.  This week has lots of detail but it came together very quickly.  I used 5-6 Elle's Studio 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 journaling cards + lots of embellishments from my April Gossamer Blue crafting kits.  I had so many little tidbits to work with that I didn't reach for any patterned paper.
Here's the left side of my weekly spread.
Here's the right of my weekly layout.
I really loved the Maggie Holmes alphabets and embellishments.
Here I topped an Elle's Studio 4 x 6 card with lots of stickers and small embellishments.
More Elle' Studio layered with stickers, stitching and stapling.
Here I used a journaling card from a Studio Calico kit with a few stickers I added Gesso to.
Loved this Evalicious journaling card on the left. On the right I used fun stickers to a typed journaling card.
Here I added stickers to a screen shot of an ebay purchase.  On the right I added a sticker and some watercoloring to my 3 x 4 insert.

Another week in the books.  This was such a fun one to work on.  If you've ever thought about subscribing to a kit club like Gossamer Blue, it's so great for Project Life.  There's a great mix of embellishments and it's fun to challenge yourself to use what's in the kits.

Okay, I'm getting up the nerve to show you my first art journaling page that I made in my Dylusions journal.  Eeeeek, I'll be back soon.  :)

Project Life 2013....Week 5

Hey everyone.  I've had a few comments about what Project Life is and how I go about doing it.  I'll take some photos of an upcoming weekly spread to show you my process and describe a bit about Project Life to the new folks.  I'll also take some photos of my Project Life organization + a few ideas about organizing kit items.

Today I have Week 5 of my Project Life 2013 to show you.  Here's the 2 page spread.   It's a very random week with just a lot of daily photos.
I ended up using a lot of the Project Life Seafoam core kit for this week. It made the process go very quickly.
Just a handful of other embellishments like tags, Washi tape and chipboard letters.
Here is my Calendar Card which has the week #, a few notes about the week and the dates that the week covers. Round tag is from Evalicious along with a few of her stamps.  I also used the Studio Calico Project Life stamp, covering up a portion with the chipboard #5.
On this photo I used a Grid Paper Arrow Label that I ran through my typewriter.  I love that I can add these labels and they don't create any bulk to my pages.
Here I used a Seafoam 4 x 6 card with a portion of a notecard on the bottom for journaling.  Stamps are from Studio Calico Project Life kit.
Another Seafoam 4 x 6 card with 2 Instagram photos.  I used Washi tape for a quick embellishment.
I created this collage in my iPhoto program.  Nothing too fancy but it was an easy way to get 8 photos on a 4 x 6 insert.
On to the 3 x 4 inserts.  On the left I have one of my Wild Cards.  This card replaced my Week in Review cards this year.  Basically, anything goes....artwork, a random photo, a quote...or duct tape.  I used a Medium White Tag for the typewriter journaling.  For the card on the right, it coordinates with the next card in the photo below this one..see the main photo for the big picture.....basically I used 2 of the same journaling cards from the Seafoam kit to make a "this to this" mini layout, depicting our crazy change of weather.
On the right I created my own journaling card using patterned paper, a punched circle of patterned paper and an Elle's Studio tag.
The right card below is a Seafoam journaling card with chipboard lettering.  On the right I used a Small Manila Parcel Tag on an altered Elle's Studio card.
More photos of Charlie.  He keeps us so entertained.
And that's a wrap for this week.  Thanks for stopping by.  :)  Stay tuned for the Gossamer Blue March release on March 1st.  I've got a lot of projects to show you this month....you card lovers will be happy. :)  Stay safe and warm this weekend...looks like more snow starting Sunday.

Project Life 2012...Week 3

I'm back today with Week 3 of my Project Life 2013.  I a few photos to share first for some Pick & Choose fun.  Many of you have commented that you like the "before" type photos of the process of picking and choosing products for a project.  So for this week I picked 3 photos that stood out to me because of the color orange that was in all of the photos.  As a fun exercise I rummaged through my stash of patterned papers and chose ones that I thought might work well with the photos.  I knew full well that I wouldn't use all of these patterns but it's fun none the less to do a little shopping in my own stash.

I did the same thing with my Washi tapes and embellishments, choosing some that had the orange theme.
Then I thumbed through my journaling cards to find some orange themed inserts.  Lots of goodies to choose from.
Then it was time to get to work on my 2 page spread.  I knew that I wanted to tie all the orange in the photos together so I treated this week like a 2 page traditional scrapbook layout.  I repeated small bits of my favorite patterns here and there to tie all the page elements together.  I think I only ended up using small bits of just 2 of the patterned papers.  Then I chose other elements sparingly....just because I had lots of orange embellishments, it certainly didn't mean that I had to clutter my pages up with all of them.
Here's my 2 page weekly spread for Week 3.  I didn't have any inserts this week so I think seeing the full weekly spread all blend together with similar elements was exactly the look I was going for.
This is the left page.
Here's the right page.
I am really enjoying the combination of the weekly date information combined with the week in review events.  I'm calling this 4 x 6 insert my Calendar Card.  It's where I get really scrappy and have fun with just working with paper pretties...sometimes a small photo.  This base card is from Elle's Studio.
On to the 4 x 6 inserts.  I used this colorful My Mind's Eye patterned paper as a base with a portion of a grid card on the bottom for typewriter journaling + an Evalicious tag for the stamped date.
My goofy Jordan blesses this insert.  I stitched on an Evalicious tag + typed my journaling on a Grid Paper Label.
Here I trimmed down a Seafoam Project Life card then typed my journaling + added stamping, Washi tape and a trimmed down Small Manila Parcel Tag.
A fun 3 x 4 insert using a journaling card from my stash (maybe Studio Calico?) + another Small Manila Parcel Tag + a badge and small letter stickers. Love those tiny letter stickers included in the SC Project Life kits.
The left 3 x 4 card is from Evalicious with some patterned paper stitched on.  The right photo has a tag from Studio Calico with typed journaling.
Another 3 x 4 insert with typewriter journaling, the small stickers, stitched patterned paper using orange thread and some small enamel dots & a brad.
That's a wrap for this week.  This was a fun one!

This weekend you'll find me.....
We're headed to Lawrence, Kansas for the KU basketball game.  Josey and her Grandma Woody get to to attend the big game while the rest of us hang out and shop & scope out a good place to watch the game.  My father-in-law scored some good/(pricey) seats for Josey and my MIL who has never been to a KU game.  The rest of us are going to have fun spending Eric's Vegas winnings, ha!

So if you know of some good shops and a fun place to watch the game, I'd love to read your comments.  I'm planning on hitting the fabric shop, the yarn shop, some antique shops and who knows what else!  Have a great weekend everyone!
