Summer Sittin'

One of my favorite things about summer time is just sittin' around, relaxin' and doing everything at a leisurely pace. Now that our ball season is over, it's all about having fun and enjoying the summer days before school starts back up.

I love this metal Vintage Garden Chair image of Karen Lockhart's. My folks have 2 of them sitting right on their front porch and we sit in them every time we visit. I colored the chair image using Copic Sketch markers. I used a fun and flowery patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket for my color inspiration. I stamped the sentiment *the joys of summer* from Papertrey's Day at the Beach stamp set. In the photo below, you can see that my chair is all shiny. I got this look by applying Ranger Glossy Accents to my colored image. Love that look! My image is cut and embossed with a Spellbinder's Nestabilities Circle die template. Base paper is PTI Kraft, edges inked with Fresh Snow.

Are you doing some sittin' this summer? Catching up on any good books? I hope you're carving out some time to just relax and have fun!!

Aww, gee--only need a big ol' glass of lemonade and life would be perfect. Save me a seat.

Love the glossy accents. It's the perfect finish to a delightful card.

What a truly pretty card!!! We had those chairs, too - Gram had green, we had red. This post really brings back those PA mountain summers. Today I'll be re-reading the sixth Harry Potter book, so I can remember all that stuff before we see the movie :) Have a great one!

You know for many porch sitting is a thing of the past...the chair brings back fond memories of my Grandma. She would say "let's finish up the chores so we can sit on the porch before dark." Ahh those were the days! We sit on our front porch and bird watch now...so relaxing!

Love love love this card! The glossy finish is just the perfect accent to the card. I just so happen to have this stamp so I most certaining will be stealing, ah, I mean "borrowing" that terrific idea. I just love this stamp. It reminds me of summer vacations when we were kids way back when. Every motel in Wisconsin and Michigan that we ever stayed at always had these kind of chairs out front. Ah, the good ole days...

Beautiful card, Mish!! I remember those chairs at my MIL's. We don't have a porch but we do have a deck that we like to sit on and watch the birds and rabbits.

I always love this chair!!! Okay, I have to ask, how do you plan for your scrapping adventures without taking the entire house? I am getting ready for vacation and would like to work on some of my layouts that need working on.

I love the card and all of the Lockhart chair stamps. Could you tell me the make of the ribbon? I saw that you used a red and white version some time ago. It really adds to the vintage look.
