This & That Notebooks

Yesterday my friend Carmen came over to get crafty with me. We made some notepads and tags for Christmas gifts. I'll show you my tags another day but here's my fun notebooks: I used my Take Note set to create a simple circle embellishment for the notepad tops. Lately I've been stamping a lot of sentiment images onto ledger type patterned paper...love that look.
The patterned paper is by October Afternoon, some of my favorite new papers. I found mine at Scrapbooks, Etc in Topeka, Kansas. Stop by if you're ever in town. For embellishments, I used Ripe Avocado twill ribbon, Aqua Mist Vintage Buttons and some twine from my stash. I went for a simple and clean look since I made about 10 notepads.
Ahhhhh, to see a stack of notepads all piled up like this makes me smile. I want to put them in a little purse and carry them around all day like a 2 year old. :)
Hope you're getting lots done for Christmas. I looked at my calendar and just realized that Friday is the last day of school for my reds before Christmas break. What a heart attacker that was!! I don't have my shopping done, hardly any gifts wraps, no teacher treats made, no neighbor gifts....nada. And now my vehicle is going into the shop to get fixed because Eric hit a deer the other night. Christmas time for me is wayyyy too hustly bustly. I like to sit in my big comfy green chair and just enjoy the lights on the tree. Who wants to be my personal shopper? I'll throw in a notepad. ;)

I'll head right over and be the personal shopper. As long as we can be crafty after the holidays. Let me buy my ticket. Always enjoy seeing the notepads. Merry Christmas!!

I also love to look at the notebooks I make! Did you cut the ripe avocado twill bluntly or is it tucked around the other design paper? If not, how do you keep the ends from fraying? I have made at least 15 notebooks from your set. It is my most-used set from Papertrey.

LOL. Every time I read one of your posts, I'm in awe of how prolific you are and have assumed you were all ready for Christmas! Thanks for admitting that you are actually human! I feel MUCH better now.

I'm planning to make 8 of these notepads for Christmas gifts and haven't started on the first one yet. This was exactly what I was hoping you'd post - I'm so going to copy this layout!! Thanks for the inspiration as always. Remember to BREATHE!

Your post made me laugh . . . and cry, because it was like I was typing it. We're down to one car right now. No deer were involved, but the sucker won't start, so there we are. I am just now putting teacher treats in glassine bags with a cute tag. That's it. Two cookies max. Love your notebooks. That Take Note set was a must-have for me, and now I have it. Good luck with all your Christmas stuff!

Such adorable gifts. Shame I'm not close or I'd be you're personal shopper, although you would have to be done by now if I was doing your shopping. I've been done for weeks and I'm sitting in front of my tree enjoying it and reading a book. I'm really enjoying this holiday season. Make the list and check it twice and you'll get things done. Happy Shopping!

I love your notepads. I made 12 myself this morning for my daughter's Brownie Troop. I made matching pens too. They loved them. Perfect gift for little girls! Thanks for sharing your amazing ideas.

I am feelin ya sister. I am in the same boat, minus the damaged vehicle. I have neglected my blog this past week because I have sooo much to do. I usually have most everything done by now. I am off tomorrow so I will see what I can get done. Hope you get it all accomplished. Good luck. :)

Mish - I have to tell you how much I love your blog. I check every day because you designs give me a creative jolt. Love, love, love your stuff. You make me laugh - put them in a little purse and carry them around. I feel the same way. Made a few for gifts, but needed some for myself!

hey, mish. love your blog and you always inspire me. i had a question about the notepads. i made some for my four sisters for christmas, but i was wondering about these that you made. does the cardstock cover come over the front of the notepad (and then get covered with the patterned paper) or do you put a spine on it and have it open like a book... i just couldn't tell from the picture. i did it the latter way and was able to get two out of each sheet of cardstock. again, thanks for all your inspiration. this is such a great set.
