Button Card Bliss

Hi everyone. Well our Spring Break (we're referring to it as Winter Break though) is over the the reds are back in school. Back to work for me too. :) I have lots of fun stuff coming on the blog this week.

where's Rosie?

From time to time during the seasons, I like to move my red bicycle named Rosie around the yard. I don't think she's really enjoying this snow and being knocked down all the time. Definitely time for Spring. You can read about how I acquired Rosie here.
blissful button cards:

On a brighter now, how about this new Bliss fabric from Moda? Isn't it splendid? It's by Bonnie and Camille. I have really enjoyed visiting Camille's blog, such pretty things. I purchased my fabrics at a local shop but I have since became acquainted with Chrissy at Sew Lux. You can visit this mother/daughter Etsy shop, online shop or blog to find the Bliss fabrics.
So, over the course of the week I basically hung out with the girls. Lots of downtime and cleaning out in preparation for our rooms swaps this summer. My creative time was spent creating button cards. One here, one there and before I knew it I had a heap of button cards. My button cards were created using mostly the Button Boutique stamp set combined with a few Label Basics additions. I just love looking at my little tray of button cards. I think I could create them all day long. I treated each one as a little piece of artwork, trying to create something unique for each one. I also had 3 pages of button card sketches that I drew inspiration from.
The colors I used were directly inspired by the Bliss fabric. Mostly Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy, and Simply Chartreuse. Papertrey Vintage Buttons coordinated perfectly. I also used some vintage buttons from my creamy white stash. All of my button cards have two things in common.....I used real buttons and I used Bliss fabric on them all.
Here's just a few up close examples of my button cards. Stay tuned all month long to the blog as I use each button card on a card, gift sack, tag.....or whatever else I dream up.
*sigh*. Total happiness when I look at these fabrics. Later this week I will be giving away an entire collection of fat quarters from the Bliss collection + a few of my button card creations. Chrissy from Sew Lux has generously donated a stack-0-fabric for me to give away here on the blog. Thank you Chrissy! You'll be in heaven, let me tell ya!
Okay, I'm off to do some paperwork + a post office run. Hope your day is a lot more sun-shiney than it is here. Let me know what you think of the Bliss fabric and be sure to include a link to any projects you've made with Button Boutique or Label Basics. Have a crafty day!

I love these fabrics. For years my favortie thing to do was to sew. I have gotten away from it since I started doing paper crafts. I am so happy you posted where you got your fabric, in case I weaken and have to buy some. BTW I have received the Spellbinder dies and have been drooling over them since they arrived.

I used to make my own clothes, then switched to quilting and being a fabric "collector" We have been vacationing in AZ and the Scrapbooks, Ect. shop has a room of fabrics now, so I HAD to buy 5 fat quarters. Two years ago I got into scrapbooking and making cards and I've been so happy to be able to use up some inherited buttons and some of my trimmings. I love the way the two hobbies overlap. I love your button cards.

WOW!!! What a gorgeous stack of button cards! I love the addition of that beautiful fabric, and the butterflies are such an adorable touch. Each one a thing of beauty! The fabrics are divine - my mom's a quilter, so every now and then I pick up a few fat quarters for her - it's just like hoarding pretty patterned paper, LOL. I'll have to pick up a few fabrics for myself, too, and use them with my Button stamps and dies.

This fabric is really cool! I am thinking about delving into more fabric and sewing crafts! I am waiting for my postmark and label sets from PTI - I won which is super exciting but it takes a little longer to show up. I just chalk it up as another way the Lord is teaching me patience! :)

You have so inspired me to take a look at the fat quarters the next time I visit my fabric store - I always love fabrics, and always say "Why can't this be paper?" but you've made me realize it doesn't need to be! Thanks for that :) I love looking at how you put your button cards together - I am waiting on those little babies to hit my doorstep, then I plan to go nuts creating my own! :)

I love the Moda Bliss fabric line to bad they don't sell 6" or 8" squares so we could afford some of each pattern. I used to quilt and have a sizable stash but most are heritage colors not the bright beautiful patterns of the Moda lone. TFS Ann Lind

I just wanted to tell you how much I love the Button Boutique set. I know you were instrumental in the designs, which I think are totally fabulous. I haven't used it much yet - I wish I had more time to craft - darn work gets in the way of my playtime! The button cards you made recently are a wonderful inspiration. I used the set recently to make this ATC - the die is the perfect size for ATCs.

I love looking at that fabric too!! Very cute lil button cards.

I thought of you yesterday when I read my latest Flea Market Style magazine...they showed a cute bike like Rosie ON THE FIREPLACE MANTLE IN THE HOUSE!! It was cool...

Fabric had been my first love until I discovered paper crafting, but I have never totally set it aside. These fabric patterns are gorgeous and I love the color palate!

I just got the Button Boutique and label sets from PTI and am anxious to start using them! What a bunch of inspiration your little button cards are...I think that I will have to make a platter full for myself. They look as scrumptious as a plate full of cookies and are much less fattening.
