Teapot Tags

Hey friends. We finally got to shoot off some big fireworks last night. The rain quit yesterday afternoon and we had a wonderful, cool evening for the kids to light their firecrackers. Eric took an extra day off today and he's whipping up some pancakes for the three silly slumber party girls still sleeping downstairs.

I have a fun little gift wrap and tag idea to show you today. I used a simple paper sack and other goodies to create a fancy little tea pot tag. For the gift sack, I simply turned down the top edge of the sack a few times to make it a littler more squatty. I wrapped a piece of vintage lace around the top and stapled it to keep it in place. Perfect for two little jars of jam, some favorite tea or perhaps a cute tea towel to keep in line with the tea pot theme.
And now for the pretty tea pot tag. I combined lots of new and vintage items to create this blue, tea pot themed tag. All of the layers of goodies add up to lots of pretties to look at.

I used two tags, a large blue vintage tag that I found at an antique shop and a medium blue parcel tag from my Etsy shop. By using two tags, I'm able to layer lots more goodies and create more dimension. I used some my blue Wrinkle Ribbon to adhere the tag to the gift sack. A handmade covered button features blue gingham fabric. By putting the loop part of the button through the two tags, you can thread the ribbon through and keep the tags held together. A blue carnival ticket peeks out from under the covered button. I covered the top tag with October Afternoon patterned paper. Both tags have machine stitching. The cute tea pot die from the Tea for Two Collection sits front and center. I used Nichole's adorable Tea for Two stamp set and the coordinating tea pot die to create an embellishment that looks store bought. The thinking of you sentiment from the Tea for Two Additions set was stamped with Enchanted Evening ink onto blue 2008 Bitty Box Basics patterned paper. I cut the sentiment apart so it would fit onto the tea pot.
I adhered the tea pot to the smaller tag using pop dots. It rests on a cut white doily which is from Martha Stewart (Michael's). I just cut the paper doily in half to make it look like the tea pot is sitting on a little shelf with a doily hanging off. The bottom tag features a strip of vintage floral fabric from my stash.
I just love having a few gift sacks with tags on hand for those little items you want to wrap up all cute like. And I created a few extra gift wrap kits for my Etsy shop. The kit includes everything you need to create the tag and gift bag I've shown today....plus a few extra goodies to make another fun creation.
I'm off to work on my projects for the July Papertrey release. Such a fun theme this month!

I wish I could get inside that head of yours and see what's rattling around. You make it seem so easy. Some days I just look at all the pretty things but can't seem to figure out how to put them together. You do a super job.
