For the birds....

Edited: Anna (Sweet Miss Daisy) has the new sets available at her online store! Go check them out order them while they're hot!! Click the link HERE.

So you all know I love birds right? Well, I got the Easter stuff put away and got out my Spring green goodies and the bird decorations. The time between Spring and Summer is just my favorite. I love how the earth is greening up and everything is new again. New babies on the farm and lots of birds flitting around, gathering up twigs and little findings for their new nests. I have another post to show you soon and a little story about my bird visitors but that will have to wait for another day.

Today I've got my bird decorations and a few creations for you. This is basket full of bird nests, some new basket filler and a few seed packets my DH picked up for me.
Here's the top of my 2 tiered wire stand. The nest looks almost real, huh? The little figurine was a junk store find.
Here's the bottom of my stand, filled with more nests and an glass apothecary lid. The light colored nest IS real. I found it last year. I only take abandoned nests and this one was falling out of a weed.
Here's a close up of the glass apothecary lid. I love to *capture* little things under these glass lids.
Just a few little nests that are hanging on my stand. Piney, did you give me this little bird ornament? I just love it!
Below are two little mininature bird baths, filled with some little green berry things.
And after putting all those goodies out, I was inspired to make something with birds on it! So using the sketch that I showed earlier this week, I took some Crafty Secrets bird images that I had previously colored and went to work.
I'm loving the new bird sets from Crafty Secrets. This one is called Bird Lover's and I know I will use it tons!!
Here's another cute little image from the Bird Lover's set, paired up with a fun sentiment. For both cards, I used Crate Paper patterned paper. I also added some Foofala buttons, Spellbinder's embossing, coloring with Copic markers, May Arts ric rac and Papertrey twill.

Hope you get to stamp this weekend!! DH and I ate small salads for lunch so that we can enjoy a fish and chicken fry tonight, sponsored by our local youth association. I can hardly wait! Then it will be home to watch KU play North Carolina......that has been the talk of the town around here for a solid week!! Go Hawks(more birds)! I think I'll stamp some images so that I can do double duty while coloring and watching the big game! Ahhhh, I love the weekends!

I love your idea of putting out bird stuff this time of year. I inherited so much bird stuff from my Mom when she passed away. Can I hire you as an interior decorator?? I still have my Easter stuff up ... I guess I"ll take it down today LOL.

You are sooooo up to date! I love the little nests...it's the kind of thing I used to have time for, when my kids were little. They would come in the house and fill my little displays with bits and pieces of nature that they found! (Usually a rock from the garden or a flower off a bush!) The Crafty secrets birds are just sweet as can be!!Love how you colored them and put it all together!

Mish, I have to tell you that your "bird themed" displays are my favourites. I loved the snowmen, but birds, birdnests, bird houses, nests, eggs, etc are my favourites, and you do it so well. Love it!
