Teacher's notes..

You know it's bound to happen......I'm going to flood you with notebook ideas. :) Today I'm combining the notes sentiment from Take Note, the teacher's sentiment from Teacher's Apple and Karen Lockhart's Pencils stamp...a favorite of mine from Karen's collection of stamps. I've been saving this pencil patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket just for this project. I used my Copic markers to match my pencils in the jelly jar with the patterned paper. There's nothing like that school pencil yellow color to make you think of school and teachers.

I cut my image and embossed it using a Spellbinder's Rectangle Nesties die template. Glossy accents finishes off the pencil jar for a realistic touch. A tied Vintage White/Cream button was used on the word notes in place of the letter *o*. And check out the little tiny pencil above the words. That comes with the Take Note set...so cute! I used an EK Success border punch for the little scalloped edging under the words.
A perfect little gift for all the teachers on your list......Christmas presents solved!!
A little somethin' special for ya: Did you know that Ticonderoga pencils are the best pencils on the planet? Seriously. That's what Josey would say. They sharpen nicely, have smooth writing lead, good erasers.....the best. Get them. Pay a little extra to get *the gooder* pencils. Thank me later when you're not sharpening the crappy pencils down to the nub because the lead keeps breaking. ;)

Michelle, I don't mind it if you are "flooding" us with your notebooks. I like the idea so much, that I will be making lots to give away at Christmas. I visit your blog everyday. It's one of my favorites. Keep up the good work!

Michelle ~ Normally I lurk your blog and never leave comments, BUT...I bought the same Cosmo Cricket paper for my kids' teachers for notebooks (does this mean I'm channeling your mojo??!! Oohh...that would be fabulous!) I ADORE your notebooks and love making them as little "happies" for people in my life! And yes, Ticonderoga pencils ARE the ONLY pencil to use. Love them!

Wow Mish, another terrific idea. I bought the white and cream notepads but couldn't afford the stamp set. Money is very tight this year. I think I will improvise with Just Right stamps. I do have the Lockhard stamp. I will make a notepad for my granddaughters Kindergarten teacher. Thanks so much for the great idea

Geez, Mish--you're creativity would be worth a fortune if you could sell it by the bottle. I'll take a gross!!!!!

Absolutely love this new set, by the way. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I've been looking for something like this for soooo long. You do realize you're a shameless enabler for those of us who think stationary shops are heaven here on earth, don't you? So go ahead, enable me baby!

I just can't wait to get my Take Notes set. I have been making your notepads ever since I discovered you almost 2 years ago, but this set is going to make it all that much more fun. I have made 4 Christmas ones for teachers this year so far.

Hi Michelle--I showed your comment about the Dixon Ticonderoga pencils to my husband, and his comment was "Finally, someone else who appreciates a quality pencil"! My husband is an accountant, and he has told us for years that the Dixon Ticonderoga pencils are THE only pencils to buy!
I can't wait to get my Take Note set in the mail--the notebooks will be perfect to make for my mother-in-law's Christmas church fair!

Oh that is an adorable notebook. Please flood us with your them! They're one of my favorite things to make. I agree with Josey about the pencils. They're the best!!

Josie is CORRECT!! My nieces were here visiting over their fall break and they were working on some homework. I noticed their pencil leads were all dull or broken off. I offered to sharpen them. I got so discouraged trying to sharpen the cheap pencils! Every time I got close to a nice point the lead would snap off below the wood and I'd have to start again. The only ones that sharpened well the first time were the Ticonderogas. YUP! Pay for the "gooder" pencils! It's worth it in the long run.

Thank you again for sharing your wonderful creations!
