Up on the blog today, I'm sharing my Week 2 of my Project Life 2015. Lots of photos this week so the layout is kept simple.
The left page. The right page.
For my 4 x 6 dated insert, I chose a photo I took while at the gas station. A great day to wear my Converse with no socks. I purposely think about white space (meaning blank space) when I take photos. Those little areas become perfect spots for titles or journaling. Here I used a One Little Bird digital overlay and then typed in my journaling. All using my iPhone 6+...in gold. Because gold is so pretty. :)
The hello 2015 is from Gossamer Blue as well as the journaling cards I used this week. Camera puffy sticker is from Evalicious. I used a little bit of blue watercoloring under the this and that title.
For my bottom two 4 x 6 inserts I did some journaling about a family friend's funeral. I know it sounds odd but in Ali's videos in her Gathering Story Kit she talked about the various reasons why we gather. Jimmy's funeral was a celebration of his life. I saw lots of people I hadn't seen in years that were getting elderly. We were happy to see each other even in this circumstance. As I sat and listened to the service, I reflected on some good memories. Worthy enough to get the story down in the books.
For my photos, I used 3 separate overlays from Ali's Gathering product line. I typed out the journaling using the Project Life app on my phone. The wood veneer arrow is from Gossamer Blue. On the journaling card at the top, I used more blue watercoloring to fill in the ampersand.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are getting the stories + photos in those albums.

While I love all your prior PL scrap booking I am happy to see in this years pages #1 your pretty face (yay for getting yourself in there!), your handwriting (it will be nice for your girls to see one day - although the typing is tidy and u can fit in a lot- it's your writing that makes it personal) and it seems you're happy about keeping up but not sacrificing your style and creativity😄 looking forward to the weeks to come

I love the "new" style, though I loved the old style as well. As far as the funeral goes...I personally think they should be documented similar to the Birth. Because that's when the favorite stories come out and when my husband lost his mother, she requested no services and it was hard for him, not to have the stories. People that saw her all the time, weren't there. So it was just him, estranged siblings, and a step-father. I think it made saying Good-Bye that much harder. so I love the idea of including all the stories, good, bad and ugly. Love that you included it and shared it! <3
I am so happy that you were in one of the photos! It's nice to see you in there as well as your handwriting this year! I enjoyed each photo and your journaling... and love the photo of you creating the yogurt and granola. Really sorry for your loss. I'm glad you documented it because it shows us all that even though we struggle with loss, it's okay to document it and celebrate that person's life.
Hugs,
Jo
