Star Prints

You can thank your lucky stars this month because Papertrey is releasing a stamp set full of five pointed wonders! I spent a good deal of time playing around with this set and let me tell ya...the patterns, sentiments and font choices that Nichole chose for this set are out of this world!! It's going to be one of my *go to* sets, I just know!

The theme I chose for my post today was encouragement. With sentiments like *way to go, just do it, and it's your day*, I couldn't help but think of encouragement for weight loss. Lord knows I need it! I created a pretty little ensemble in soft yellows that would make a perfect gift for someone losing weight. Front and center in the show is snack box full of 100 calorie snacks, Slim Fast bars and zero calorie drink mixes. I tucked them perfectly into Lauren's Timeless Template called Desktop Organizer. My thought is that once the goodies are gone, you could keep the box out and put refills in for your daily snacks.....or fill the box with encouraging cards, quotes, photos, etc. You could then read through the items when you need encouragement. You could also keep a little notebook in there for a grocery list or a food journal.
I made a matching card that would be a visual reminder that you're on your way to reaching your goal. The soft yellow paired with the shiny starts are sure to brightens some one's day. Aren't I good at cutting out stars? Not! Nichole's adding a star punch to the line up this month that punches out the stars lickety split, easy peasy!!
And to keep the encouragement going, you could place these little cards taped to your refrigerator, inside a cabinet door, in your wallet, on your tread mill, etc. I cut them out with Spellbinder's Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities and then layered on the other embellishments. I think it would be fun to keep making little cards like this and add them to the stationery box too.
The details: For my Desktop Organizer box and stars on my cards, I made a star background using a large polka dot star and acrylic paints. By using a small brush, you apply the paint directly to the stamp to create a full sheet of patterned paper. I also added in some tiny stars to fill in the gaps.

Papertrey supplies used: Desktop Organizer Timeless Template, Kraft Cardstock, Stamper's Select White Cardstock, Lemon Tart Cardstock and ribbons, Vintage White Buttons, Star Prints Stamp Set, Dark Chocolate Ink, twine, Scor-Tape (to assemble box), Star Punch, pop dots, glitter, Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints, brown sequins

The fun doesn't stop here! Check out the other Papertrey Designers' Blogs for more great ideas using Star Prints. I know it will be one of your favorites this month:

Mish, does the acrylic paint wipe off the stamp the same as ink would? As always, fantastic work!

I finally got my printer to print out the Templates and this is the one that I have! I'll definitely be making some of these soon! :) One question - The bow that is at the top of the box, how did you get it to be two different ribbons?

Hi Mish! I love the look of yellow & craft together! It seems you can pair ANY color w/ craft and get phenom results! This is a great gift idea, too. My sis is doing WW, so I'm thinking it'd be a perfect thing to send her way....
