In my purse I have...work keys, car keys, 2 diapers, small pack of wipes, kleenex, nail clippers, wallet (wish it had money in it..LOL), 2 bottles of Window Chalk from decorating the car for my oldest daughter's cheerleading competition last weekend in Dallas, and last but not least Tylenol. :) Thanks for the chance to win...LOVE your stuff!!

I thought it would be fun to play along with Nichole's challenge so I created this fun little, patchwork tote. It uses Moda and Amy Butler Fabric.
An adorable little tote, finished up with Papertrey Berry Sorbet ribbon handle and a fancy little bow and heart embellishment.
Completely lined and oh so cute! Well, I think so.
With a little somethin' inside.....Butterfinger and Reese's Hearts (I've eaten two from the pack already, my faves!).....snippets of ribbon on a wooden clothespin(available at Dollar Tree)......
....and a little signed by mwah. Card uses Kraft and Vintage Cream cardstock, Berry Sorbet Swiss Dot ribbon and ink, buttons, Simply Stationery stamp set and some cute embellishments I made HERE using Heart Prints(a must have Valentine set!). I tied one onto the bag also.

My most favorite thing in my purse are the sun glasses I bought last year in Hawaii. They are Maui Jim's and and are definitely the best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned. Also, they are the first pair of sunglasses that I have not lost within a month!

My purse isn't much bigger than that bag. I carry a diaper bag for the kiddos, I figure I really don't need that much space for myself. I can always shove something in their bag if I need it! Which means my purse is for essentials only. Essentials being 3 (yes THREE) packs of Extra Island Cooler gum. Heaven forbid I run out. I keep thinking the cute little boxes it comes in needs altering, but they never seem to last long enough!
Oh how I wish I could sew--that is so stinkin' adorable. Chapstick is a must in any bag I carry--especially during the horrible winter!!
What do I not have in my purse!! The biggest thing is probably my HUGE inhaler for my asthma. Blah..not any fun but hey..I gotta have it!
Hi Mish! I definetely need to buy a sewing machine your purse it's adorable! It has all of my favorite colors in it! Love the fabric! My purse is full! the most unusual thing I can think of is a miniature spray can of Lysol I found on the travel size section at Target, it is a life saver because I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old and when we are out and they need to use a public restroom I spray the toilet and wipe it and have a little piece of mind that I kill most germs ;) I also have hand sanitizer gel from bath and body works and it smells so good! I am still laughing at the George Costanza comment!! hahaha! My purse is always filled with something completely random. I feel like it's Mary Poppin's purse, and I could pull furniture out of it! I need to clean it out!
The one item that always seems to pop out of my purse is a diaper - a clean diaper. I keep one in my purse, along with a little pack of wipes just in case my littlest guy decides he need a changing when I thought we would just be out for a minute.
Love, love, love the tote ! In my purse ... people always say "you could be on that show Let's Make a Deal". You're not old enough to remember that show, but maybe some folks will be. Anyway ... there are two very special things that I always, always carry in my purse (no matter how big or small it might be). The first thing is my grandfather's drivers license. My grandpa passed away in 1979 and the one thing of his I wanted was his drivers license. The other thing I carry is one of those "tourist pressed pennies". This one was made in Skagway, Alaska on my honeymoon. It helps me to remember (on those not so good days) how much I love my husband. Anyway, those are my two "must haves" ... then of course there is the spare change, the Altoid that fell out of the box and scraps of paper with grocery store lists. I always have some sort of snack, currently it's a Kashi Blackberry graham bar. And I am also loooving my new Nivea kiss of moisture lip balm. It feels so creamy going on!
That tote is just adorable! It would be much quicker to list what I don't carry in my purse. People always comment "What do you have in this thing" if they happen to pick it up. I just carry all of my "necessities". Of course I am the first person they come to if they need something like a pin, band aid, pen or whatnot.

I tend to hang on to a purse until its on its last leg -- but I MUST have a stash of gum for my god daughter in it. She's 3 1/2 and ALWAYS ask if I have her gum in my purse!
I love,love,love this tote. I carry just about everything in my purse. I take my 14 month old grandson to daycare everyday and pick him up so I have to carry a bag of crackers(gwackkkers as he calls them) so that he can snack on them everyday along with of course the cell phone that never leaves my side. I am always on call for work so I also carry a very long list of work phone numbers with me as well.Hope I am lucky enough to win!!!!!

What I seem to find in my bag all the time is My Littlest Pet Shop toys. My kids love to play with them in the car, so as I am cleaning up the back seat I shove them in my purse to bring them back into the house. Then in the scurry to get things done I forget to take them out. No wonder by bag is so heavy!
Wow this bag is adorable!! I would just love the instructions if you are able to share. I keep my purse pretty clean, usually it just the essentials: wallet, glasses case, keys, lip gloss, hand sanatizer, and my phone. I would love to have my hubby carry his own "Man Purse" but right now I would just settle for him getting a new wallet

I have a wonderful tapestry bag that holds pretty much all but the kitchen sink - bandaids, painkillers, cough drops, chapstick, nailfile, bottle opener (you never know when you are going to have a bottle of wine and no way to open it!!! wink, wink, wink!), minimum of 2 flavors of gum, peppermints for sour tummies as well as fresh breath, safety pins & paper clips, rubber bands, crayons (even though the boys are teenagers now!)
well, you get the picture. oh, and a travel Bible, too! smiles! :)

I generally feel compelled to carry a package of peanut butter crackers in my purse because you never know when you will need a quick something. But usually, they end up completely pulverized and I throw them away before they ever get eaten (only to be replaced by another package, briefly intact and appetizing).

It never fails whenever my husband and I are out. I get to carry his wallet, his checkbook, and the car keys in MY purse. My purse already weighs a ton and to add more weight, makes it even heavier. LOL!
I love the tote. So pretty. My purse is full of "stuff", but I will only tell you about 1 of the items. I carry kleenex. One of my bffs, Angela, knows she can count on me for a kleenex if she gets teary eyed! That's what friends are for. : )

And yesterday he asked if I have his ear plugs in my purse (which he specifically told me to put them there in case one of the two little toddler grandchildren are in the car!!) and I told him I draw the line at ear plugs!!

Love this tote, just like I love everything you share! My purse...it's a treasure trove to be sure. I do carry a camera, because I am creating a Project 365album. I have 2 types of Stride gum, just depends on whether I'm in a spear or pepper minty mood. I don't leave home without my Burt's Bees w/honey Lip Balm. I also have to have my Anti-Bacterial Hand Lotion from Bath and Body Works. I have a pack of tissues, a big ol' wallet, a coin purse, my pink Breast Cancer Awareness date book, with matching ink pen. My cosmetics bag-whole other story there- A pill case with Advil inside and some 'girlie time' supplies, because my teen-age daughters are NEVER prepared! LOL! That's about it...for now! My palm pilot is always in my purse. If I'm running in a store and leave my purse behind (I know, that's not a good idea) my palm pilot is in my hand. It has all info related to my life stored in it but most importantly my shopping lists! I can't do paper shopping lists...I always lose them. I've lost my keys and many other things, but I've never lost my palm pilot!!!

Oh Mish! I love the bag you created! It is so super cute...great colors. And adorned so nicely with PTI goodness :) Let's see...what's in my purse these days. I've got to have the good ol' wallet and cell phone in there. Along with that I have my ever present chapstick, cuticle clipper (I swear, if I don't have one with me at all times my cuticles are a mess!) and mini notepad. My purse has also recently become the landing zone for my daughter's sippy cup and various snacks for our ventures out. My purse never seems to be quite big enough *wink*

My Story;
Many years ago until around 2004 I was "THE PURSE" lady. I loved only the best like Coach, Louis Vuitton etc. Now my "purse" is a basket in my walker, LOL. I am making a black and white toile/check liner for it which makes me feel as though I still care about fashion and haven't lost it all.

I keep a traced cut out of my kids' feet size just in case I am out and about, and see shoes on sale. I can never remember their foot size, so I have a cut out shape in my purse.

I always have a little "emergency kit" in my purse, which contains a comb, chapstick, a granola bar, some change, a pad or two, hand sanitizer, a couple plastic bags, and some mints. My purse had gotten larger with each child I have! My current tote even doubles as a mini diaper bag. The best item in my purse is a small applicator with Clinique Happy on one side and lip gloss on the other. Sometimes when I get stuck in traffic I whip it out, give myself a little sprucing up, and feel instantly more relaxed.

My purse? Hmmmm. I carry the usual things -- keys, check book, wallet, nail file. I carry my camera and cell phone with me at all times. I usually have coupons to Michael's, Archivers, Bed,Bath and Beyond, Borders and any other coupons that may come in handy. I won't buy anything if I know I have a coupon for it at home, so they're usually all with me. The tote is darling! If I don't win it, I'd love to know how to make it!

I try to keep it organized and cleaned out because I hate digging for things. I'll tell you what I rarely have in there and that's cash! My husband and kids make off with that pretty quick. I have to actually hide cash when I have some, and then I forget where I put it. {LOL} Thank goodness for Debit Cards!
I am so ashamed to say it but for christmas i bought myself a new very small purse. As I was cleaning out my other tote i found an old lollipop rewrapped and a new diaper for my son. he has been toilet trained for at least 8 months. i am glad I got a new purse! I love your tote so much better.

What a fun tote you made and I love the colors. I actually try to carry as little as possible and it is even easier since I now have contacts and don't have to carry glasses everywhere. I am known as the safety pin godess!!! I have a safety pin on the inside of my shirt at all times and LOTS of them in my purse...just in case!!! I also carry a tiny little spray bottle of OxyClean...I love that stuff! And Band-aids....my 6 years old wears bands-aids like they're jewlery so I always have them in my purse too.

The most important thing in my purse is chapstick. I think I have an addiction to it actually. I truly panic when I can't find it!!

Now, about my purse... it's a mess. There are seriously a thousand receipts and loose coupons and shopping lists and three months worth of church bulletins and stuff in there. It is STUFFED - and it shouldn't be because all I carry is my wallet, keys, sunglasses, cell phone, and a lip gloss.
My purse is so boring and sparse! Just a wallet, checkbook, an adorable notepad from my friend using one of your ideas, a pen, gum, and cell phone.

What an awesome blog candy! As for my purse - well, we have two cats. And, even though they are strictly indoor cats we had them micro-chipped just in case they somehow got out and got lost. In my purse I have their tags containing those microchip ID numbers since my purse is always with me and our cats do not wear collars. What can I say, I'm a worry-wart!
I keep it pretty simple - wallet, notebook for sketch ideas, keys, lipstick and cell phone.

Let me just say that this bag is so adorable. I'm such a big fan of Amy Butler's fabric as well as anything from Moda!! No matter what purse I'm carrying, I must have a nail file and dental floss. It's the little things in life that keep me grounded.
That is the cutest bag I have seen. I haven't sewn a stitch in a VERY long time. Okay, I tried to sew on a card but ripped it up instead.
My purse, I am just now getting away with out carrying a mom purse full of diapers so all I have in it is my wallet, some wipies, my glass case and of course the essentials, pocket knife, lip gloss, pens, etc.
I love your tote! That material is so pretty! I carry lots of stuff in my purse. Something I use alot is my samples of all the Stampin Up cardstock that my demo put together on a ring. It comes in handy when I'm out shopping for cute designer paper that I see on your blog and others!
I love your tote and choice of fabric! You're are amazingly creative. I visit your blog everyday. How you do so much is beyond me. I have a nice Kate Spade bag (which I never could afford) that I received from my kids for Christmas. It's a mess inside but you could never tell from the outside. Everything is in it including tons of old shopping lists, receipts, dental picks, and stuff stuck to the grandkid's juice spills. Whoever wins will have a lovely tote.
This bag is SOOOO cute! Well, now...let's see. I am not a person who carries a small purse. It would probably be easier to tell you what is NOT in my purse. However, I do have a few things that are essential to my family. We eat out way too much and my son is at that age where the kids menus are a little too babyish. So, I always have a note pad with tic tac toe grids and one with dots for that game where you take turns making lines to form a square. Then, of course, you have to have some twistable colors just in case.

I have a book in my purse ALL the time. I live on an island and I never know when or if the ferry 'will go down'. If I have to wait an hour or two, no problem I've got bonus reading time. Quite often I will have my cell phone charger in my purse. I am notorious for letting it die. So as a fly out of the house to work in the morning, I need to grab the charger too!

Love that bag! If I won, my younger daughter would probably steal it from me immediately. But she's cute, so I'd probably let her. I've switched to the smallest purse that I can carry and still hold my credit cards, cash, cell phone and car keys. Other than that, there's not much room. I have room for a pen, but my kids are always taking them, so I rarely have one. I usually have a stack of notes and/or receipts in there, too. But nothing else.
Right now I actually have 3 socks, no not 3 pairs of socks three completely different socks, hundreds of receipts one Lip Glass (Chai from MAC) and my wallet. It sort of resembles what a homeless woman might have in her purse. My friend has started calling my a bag lady:)
That tote is absolutely adorable! I love everything about it. I recently organized my purse and am so happy with the results. Now there's a place for everything and my favorite item is a little zippered pouch with a close-up of a pig's snout. I use it to hold my lipstick, etc.

I have always said I can tell what kind of weekend I've had by how full my purse is on Monday - when the kids were little there were extra diapers, wipes, and a bottle. As they grew it changed to crayons, and matchbox cars, and backs of snacks and juice boxes. Now it is extra contacts in case they lose one in a game, extra bandaids, some time extra socks and a clean tshirt!

Important: pantyliners and tampons. I can't tell you how many times I've been traveling and have had to borrow from a friend...how embarrassing, learned my lesson on that one.

I have the usual assortment, but I always make sure I have pictures of my 3 girls and hubby--a constant reminder of constant love. And sometimes a real pick-me-up!

OMGoodness! This is such a fun bag. Let's see ... in my purse there is always lip moisturizer, mascara (because of my blond eye-lashes I don't want to be without it!) and a pretty hankie. I have to admit you will likely find smarties, a small tonka truck on most days and for sure right now I carry a special devotional I have been reading to a friend who is currently in a coma after a terrible car crash. I carry my iPhone. Thank goodness it has a great point & shoot camera. I attended a crop last month and forgot my real camera - ALL 3 DAYS! But thanks to my iPhone, I got some great shots and emailed them to others who had forgotten THEIR cameras. It's also handy for snapping shots of creative ideas/color combos when I'm out shopping.

Since my little one was born I carry a diaper bag instead of a purse. Even my husband prefers me to carry this things so the more room the better. Probably the most important thing is my iPhone - it does everything!

I carry a digital key chain everywhere....when I'm not being diverted by papercrafts I'm a miniature bear artist and I always get a puzzled look when I tell people what I do so now I can show them. They still don't get why I do what I do but at least they know what I do!! I usually sneak a picture or two of my latest cards on there too

I always have lip gloss, a nail file and toothpicks because sometimes when you go out to eat you get food stuck in a tooth and that way I can discreatly take care of it. I also have lots of those membership cards that need to get stamped or punched out when you make a purchase at their store.

What do I have in my purse/bag??? Of course the normal stuff, but I always carry three things. I always have a pack of gum, 4 quarters (even with cell phones, a quarter's battery never dies!) and a ziploc bag of doggy cookies! I have two dogs and I don't want to have to 'remember' those when our dogs go out with us. And one of our dogs can not stay away from a cookie - regardless of whatever other distractions are around!!!!

My purse is always jam packed. I still need and old fashioned calendar AND a notebook. No new fangled device will work for me. I also have a zipper pouch complete with lipstick, Burts Bees, cough drops, antacids, sudafed, band aids, pen, pencil, and highlighter (I'm in my third year of law school). All that, and my wallet is always devoid of any cash!
I have a lot of cookie crumbs in my purse. My son likes to take a snack when we go out shopping, but instead of putting cookies in a baggie, he sometimes just pops them in my purse when I'm not looking. When I feel around in the bottom of my purse, I can always find little bits of "love" from my son.

Funny you mentioned 'purse'. . .After my last baby the Dooney & Burke purse went into storage & I have carrying around the most hideous forest green diaper bag (even when the kids aren't with me!). I know, I'm a dork. So, come to find out my 'purse' : ) has: my wallet complete with large stash of receipts hanging out, two diapers, a baggie of baby wipes, a rubber band, Burt's Bees lip balm, my fav leopard print RSVP med. point black ink pen, three Starbuck's napkins, and drum-roll. . .1 "used" q-tip! -Gross!! : ) ~I need an intervention. : )

I downsized my purse a couple years ago when my doctor said my purse was causing my neckaches. lol! And yes, it annoys me to no end to have my husband's items in MY purse to carry! Luckily he doesn't ask too often. Love the tote and would LOVE to win it. I just carry the basics in my purse, sunglasses, wallet, keys...oh and lots of receipts! I always forget to clean it out.
Ok, where do I start regarding my husband's George Costanza wallet. Yes, I believe he does carry a piece of hard candy in there too. LOL! My parents always call him George when he pulls out his wallet. I starts off with honey can you put my wallet in your purse. It goes all nuts from there with ... oh and my sunglasses, cell phone, pager and keys. The keys are the worst. You think he was prison guard. I do manage to stuff it all in there, but I told him that my purse says Coach not Stage Coach. LOL! I would LUUUUV to win that adorable tote to store all my hubby's stuff.

As for my purse, I try to travel light, and keep it small and simple, so there is my wallet of course, and a travel size box of baby wipes. I think it's kind of funny, 'cuz the wipes are as big as the wallet, but with little ones along, they are a must :)

I love your bag - and ALL your wonderful creative work. The question should be what don't I carry in my purse. Everything I think I may need or may have ever needed is in there. I usually am the go-to person for Kleenex, Tylenol, toothpaste, fingernail file, notepaper, pens, etc. etc. Also, since I too am a multi-fiber afficionada, I have charts for yardage requirements for any size bed quilt, a retractable metal measuring tape, needle gauges, yarn conversion charts, check lists for my favorite paper art supplies (VersaMagic, Ranger inks, Stickles, Fluff, Marvy punches, Shiva oil sticks, etc. etc.) so I don't duplicate purchases when I'm out and about. What do you carry?

My purse pretty much contains my whole life! Along with the regular wallet, cell phone, lip gloss, keys I've got my iPod, GPS, date book, pens galore, gum packets, measuring tape, idea book, and so much more. People are always joking that I should maybe use a rolling suitcase instead of a purse.
I just saw your purse and just fell in love with it! The best thing I carry in my purse are little notes from my granddaughters that they have written/colored along the way! I have an acrylic stone in my purse that has a pewter heart inside. The heart simply says I love you and it was a gift from my mom just before I was diagnosed with a mental illness. It was the lowest point of my life and I took it out often to remind myself that I was not alone. That was a number of years ago and now it serves as a thankful reminder of how far I have come and what I have to be thanful for.

What I carry in my purse? Well, diapers, baby wipes, pacifier, little toys... It looks like a purse but is more like a diaper bag. And also scraps of paper or fabric and/or embellishments that I want to buy something to match with... The funny thing is I carry it to work (and I'm an engineer, so nothing craft or baby-related) so sometimes when something fall outside of my purse I'm getting some looks...

I have at least a dozen pairs of mangled glasses in my purse and another half dozen loose lenses at the bottom. Most of them aren't even strong enough for me to use anymore. My purse is like Mary Poppins carpetbag as everything I need for a day away from home (real job) is in it. But what I absolutely cannot do without is lip gloss, and I usually carry 5 or 6, at least, with me at all times. Right now there is Burt's Bees in pomegranite, 2 Cover Girl Amazemint in different shades of pink, 3 Bare Essentials Buxom Babes in Katie, Gabby and Sandy, and 2 Philosophy in apple and lemon. Yum!
That is the prettiest little tote I've ever seen. My purse is pretty small - one pocket holds my wallet and such, the other pocket usually holds things that belong to my daughter or husband. Right now, that "family" pocket is holding a board book shaped like a cow.

One of the things I have is a binder ring that holds my "cards". I'm not talking about credit cards, but those customer appreciation cards (doesn't it seem like everyone has their own card now a days?) When I started, I only had a couple of cards on now it's grown to having 20-25 different cards on - crazy. Hope I win - this tote looks amazing!!!!

I keep my purse very light...as light as possible with only the essentials, coin bag and check book, watch, one pen, my cell, back-up glasses and a small pocket knife if I need to trim or cut something while I'm on the road...and that's it! What a cute tote....... I always have to have a finger nail file in my purse, I am constantly breaking my nails and hate snagging them on everything.....

I love the tote! You do such nice work. My purse is small because that way I won't overload it. I keep my checkbook in in, breath mints, cell phone, and a few bucks. Nothing too exciting. It would all fit very nicely in that darling tote!

Well, I keep my wallet, my checkbook, a Moleskin journal, lipstick, my Weight Watchers journal, my PDA/phone, and lots and lots of random junk! I used to love large purses until I realized it was an excuse for my honey to hand me his wallet, his keys, his phone, etc. Now mine is too small and he has to carry his own stuff! Best idea I ever had!

How stinkin' cute is this one Mish! Love it! My favorite thing I carry in my purse is a clear plastic cosmetic bag which holds all my lipsticks & lip balms.
I have loads of sticky notes and receipts in my purse. Sometimes I change bags just so I don't have all that stuff!
People laugh at me because I have everything in my purse! You never know when you (or someone you are with) might need a tape measure, bandaid, asprin, mirror etc...
What's not in my purse, lol. I need to be prepared like all good moms are but I probably don't need the nail clippers in my cosmetic bag. You never know though, they could come in handy! One of the other items that many young girl Mom's out there have are Justice Fun Cards, a must have.
