Project Life Week 11, 2012

Hi there, if you're visiting from Becky Higgins' blog, welcome! Today Becky is sharing links to all the Project Life Creative Team Members blogs so be sure to check out her blog for links. It's always so inspiring to see what everyone else is up to with Project Life.

Today I'm sharing Week 11 of my Project Life. I'm about 2 weeks behind but that is very manageable compared to the 17 weeks I got behind in 2011. I've been trying to make any inserts that go with a week that I'm working on so that is taking a little bit longer. But well worth it. Here's my 2 page spread
Note: It seems I forgot to take photos of the individual pages. I'll get to that later and add them back into this post soon.

Here are some of my favorite inserts from this week. I was working with my snow confetti this week on crafty projects so I thought it would be fun to include it right in my insert. I also used some Washi tape from the Smash Book collection + a journaling spot, fabric brad and a Large White Tag. I've really enjoyed including a photo of a weekly craft project in my albums.
Here's a line up of some 3 x 4 journaling cards, starting with my week in review on the left, a shot of the weather in the middle and an artsy quote sticker from Cosmo Cricket. The plaid journaling card is from the Clementine Core Kit.
Here I used a trimmed down Library Card for a journaling card with typed label and photo. The middle insert is another Clementine card with letter stickers and hand journaling. On the 4 x 6 photo insert at the top, I typed on some of my Grid Labels + added a circle embellishment from Banana Fish Studio.
Here's another 4 x 6 insert with photos of Charlie digging in the garden. I added a hand cut patterned paper flat + wood grain chipboard letters + a stamped Small White Tag. The letter stamps are from Hero Arts.
I also added an insert this week using a Design G Photo Pocket Page. I love this 10 x 12 size because I like to keep my inserts smaller than the 12 x 12 pages. I think the main week remains more visible and the smaller inserts lets the viewer know that the inserts act as add-ons to the week.

The front page of my insert shows my dad, a hard working farmer. Always active. A recent world traveler and always on the go. Healthier than ever at age 78.
The back side of the insert shows my dad the day that he had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. This page was very, very hard to make. I almost trashed it because I really don't want to be reminded of this horrible time. The horrible news. But I decided that it's a part of life. A part of my life that I want to document. A year ago, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and I didn't scrapbook one bit of it. I wanted to forget that it happened. I decided that making this insert about my dad's cancer is part of our journey. A story that needed to be told. And before I cry anymore I will just stop typing. On a good note, my dad's surgery was a success. The doctor's think the cancer was contained and caught early. We hope and pray that this is the end of this little journey.
And now for some fun stuff. Many of the Creative Team Members are giving away some Project Life products this week. I'll be giving away lots of items from the Cobalt Project Life collection + a variety pack of the Photo Pocket Pages.
To enter your name for the prizing drawing, please leave a comment telling me something special you've added to your Project Life pages. It can be a special story, an insert page, a fun piece of memorabilia.....anything you like. Or perhaps you have a story you'd like to add to your album. Anything you want.

Here's the details on how to enter the contest:
1. Contest is open to US residents only, sorry to everyone outside the US
2. You must leave your first name and state in the comments section + a blurb (see above)
3. Comments to be considered for the contest will remain open until Wednesday 11:00 PM Central Time. Winner will be announced Thursday.
4. Contest winner will be asked to email a Project Life representative with contact & shipping information. Prize package will ship from Amazon.
5. Good luck!

I've switched over to memory keeping with multi-sized divided page protectors almost exclusively, and would love the chance to try out Project Life! :-D I put anything and everything into my pages. This last week it was part of a Easter goodie bag that my three year old drew and colored little blob-like "eggs" on.

I love Project Life! It's so much fun to see all the changes that occurred during the year as I document each day. I love adding little bits of ephemera to my scrapbooks, along with printing and including the fun posts my family puts on facebook.

Thanks for sharing your layouts --I get so much inspiration from them! And thanks for the opportunity to win such a delightful scrapbook kit!

This year I've added more inserts. Recently my daughter was in the local newspaper. I had her autograph the photo (she's 4) and added that as an insert for that week.

I always love looking at your blog. I made the coolest collage to include in my PL 2011. I downloaded several cast pictures from the Harry Potter movies and did a special insert to document the release of the last film. I love how it turned out.

I haven't started PL yet, but would very much like to give it a try! Love, love, love the Cobalt edition (and I have 2 girls!). Want to thank you for this chance. Oh, and what I would add is a whole bunch of my girls' writing. Love their ages (5 and 9).

Thank you for the Project Life Giveway chance I’ve gotten SO behind in all of my scrapbooking since my little boy’s autism diagnoses and my husband’s kidney transplant last year (after being on dialysis for 5 years). It would sure give me a head start at trying to get back on track with my memory keeping! Using this system would help me scrapbook more quickly too. I've searched at the craft stores near me recently and they did not carry Project Life products.
Thanks
