Sweetie Pie Apron

I love this Apron stamp from Karen Lockart. I think it's the biggest image from all of Karen's collections...and to me it just begs to be paper pieced each time I reach for it.
So I reached for some of my new Valentine paper from My Mind's Eye and used three separate patterns to paper piece the apron, pocket and dish towel. I colored the straps red with a Copic Sketch marker.
The dish towel is raised up on pop dots to add dimension. For some detail, I used some Papertrey Sweet blush satin ribbon and tied on some gold charms. I added a pink sequin to the heart.
And above is the inside of the card. The *let's get cookin'* sentiment is by Karen Lockhart, a perfect companion to the apron. The *Sweetie Pie* sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's My Punny Valentine. This will be a FUN card to send out for Valentine's Day....perhaps to someone who likes to cook. Have you started on YOUR Valentine cards yet?

I've always enjoyed seeing the apron on different cards and yours is exceptional because it's made for Valentine's Day. The spoon embellishment is a wonderful addition to the card; where did you find it?

This is so fun, I was just looking at that stamp - thanks for the inspiration. Also, I loved your V-Day party ideas for your daughters. You definitely are the coolest Mom.

Love the card. I remember my grandma's apron and have just bought one for myself so my granddaughter might have the same memories I do associated with an apron. Thanks for sharing.

I never leave comments, but follow your blog and even have categorized your work on my computer for copying b/c I am a scraplifter. I'm a pharmacist- so obviously the artistic side of my brain doesn't work! How you came up with card is beyond me- you truly have a unique talent. Thanks for all your posts.
