Sweet Cherry Notepads

About this time of year, I like to add some gift items to my stash basket. The teachers are always wanting cute little gifts. And I've been itching to play with Papertrey's Everyday Button Bits some more. I love this set as much as you all do!

I made some of journals that you've seen quite a bit here on the blogaroonie. For more samples and explanations, you can click on the notebooks label at the end of the post. I stamped the adorably cute cherry stems onto Rustic White cardstock and then added some juicy Pure Poppy Vintage Buttons, tied with Rustic Cream Twine. The sentiment *You're so sweet* finishes off the main image which I punched out with a scalloped square punch. Sequins add a little bling to the flower centers of the patterned paper.....which is Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket.
I found this luscious looking vintage, ric rac/crochet ribbon combo at my local quilt shop. Is it not just heavenly? I don't know who makes it, but I {heart} it so much! I've got to find the perfect quilting project to use some one..perhaps a new tote!
Here's a peek at the inside of my notebook.
Well, those really jump started my Sunday morning...I'm raring to make more goodies now! I've got some other stamping projects to work on......plus I want to try a new peach salsa recipe from allrecipes.com......laundry......and family time. Looks like a possibly rainy day too.

Oh, and the girls found a baby snake on the sidewalk yesterday while buzzing around on their scooters. It looked like a rattler, was striking big time....and then I gave it the hoe treatment. ;) If you think you're dealing with the *oh, I love all creatures big and small, regardless if they want to kill me or not family*.......you've come to the wrong blog Sista! Have a snake free day everyone! I hope you take time to stamp today too!!

Glad you and the kids did not get bit by that snake! This why I am a city girl and have a no snake policy. Love those papers by Cosmo and with those poppy buttons nice match! Take Care...or should we say be safe?

Ok, creative and funny! You've got it all!! As far as I am concerned, snakes have no business being on this earth so looks like I found the right Blog! This notepad is my all time favorite of yours. I SUPER love the colors and cherries. I just need to find a place that will cut notepads. I just love this size. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday!

Love your cute little cherry notepads, and the Cosmo Cricket paper is the perfect addition! Mish you are a much braver girl that I am, I would have run into the house screaming if I saw that snake! Sounds like you're well versed in the "hoe treatment"! LOL

Mish as always your mass production is wonderful and practical, you have motivated me to do the same. Get ready for the teachers school starts on Tuesday here I must be ready.... As for the snake I feel the same way.. One time we had a snake like that in the yard and it stood up and hissed and my niece who was a baby was walking right towards it and my mom behind me. My mom could not believe how quick I got to me niece scooped her up and was behind my mother before she could blink. Mind you I am a girl that does not like to run.....We laughed about how quick I am around snakes

The crochet ric rac trim is by Moda - called conveniently enough Grandma's crochet ric rac trim - and comes in the 4 colors you show on your blog. I have some in an online cart, even as I type this!

LOL, you crack me up and as usual, reading your blog is a high point in the day. I HATE snakes too, so I can truly relate. Love the cute lil notebooks. I think that's my all time favorite PTI stamp set...well one of them at least, there really are so many now that I think of it.

I love these notepads. I wish your daughters were at my school and in my class :). I'm glad your girls didn't get bit. Yea for getting rid of the snake. I hope there aren't more.

Like what you've done with the notepads. I agree with you...the only good snake is a dead snake. I've given a few the "hoe treatment" too.

You are a brave one. At 32 I met a snake in a flower bed and yelled for my 84 year old grandma who was visiting to come kill it--which she did! (And I was 8 inches taller than she was) I always enjoy your blog. The note pads are so cute. (From the mother of the other "Mish-Mash" at CHA)

Your last blog on these little notebooks inspired me so I ran out and got a package of them cut and made welcome to our school one for all the new staff members. Mine aren't as cute as yours but everyone really liked them. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ha! That last line is my favorite! In my mind...there's only ONE kind of "good" snake... ;-)

Cute notebooks!

Cute notebooks...love the crocheted rick rack edging...very vintage. I don't blame you with the snake. Identifiably non-poisoness snakes are good for your gardens but when in doubt, don't take a chance!!

Love your notepads, so adorable and useful!! We have given a few snakes over the years the "hoe treatment" and even a "weed eater treatment", whatever it takes!! Living in the country is great except for those snakes and right now would love to get rid of some moles!!

Not me girl.. I say off with their heads! Them and any bugs that get near me..

I'm so glad I've never run into any snakes on my own... I'd end up in the hospital with heart failure! But if I wasn't such a chicken I'd have no problem taking it out, no snake is going to hurt my kids!

Love the notebooks!

More cute notebooks! I'm glad you dispatched the snake to the happy hunting ground. I've always said, "The only good snake is a dead snake!" Who has time to bother looking for the shape of the head or viper pits? It's a goner (I use a shovel so I have a heavy tool to aim with) if I see one.

I love your ideas that you share about making more than one at a time... so smart and a great way to get ahead. Love the cherry notebooks.

Awesome project- as always! But honestly- laughing out loud about the snake comments!! :) I think if I lived near rattlers I'd be versed in the 'hoe treatment'!!!

Mish--can you tell me how you adhered the trim? I couldn't tell in the pictures and I'm just curious, as I hesitate sometimes to use ribbon and trim because I don't know how to get it to 'stay.' Thanks...
