Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July everyone! And Happy Birthday to my Josey Posey!! I am proud to be an American and love to celebrate our nation's independence by gathering with my friends and family for a day of fun and laughter.

I wanted to share a card with you today, inspired by all of my red, white and blue Papertrey goodies. I used Vintage Picnic to create a patriotic card that I'll display on our picnic table today.I stamped the basket and patriotic flag images onto PTI Kraft cardstock and colored them in with Copic Sketch markers. I stitched around the image, added some blue lace ribbon, a few white star brads and some glitter.
The bottom of my card is bursting with red, white and blue. I adorned it with Vintage Buttons tied with Rustic Cream Twine, Spring Rain gingham ribbon and cream ribbon was stitched onto my card with my sewing machine....that is intended to look like a waving flag. Sentiments are from Vintage Picnic and Let Freedom Ring.
My motto for this summer:
Look at these vintage picnic baskets.....the one on the left is tucked full of picnic goodies.....the one on the right is so patriotic.
I'd love to have one of these but don't know the source:
This is how a picnic should be......everything just effortlessly laid out on the table.
And very casual looking like this back porch table setting. Here's my back porch, showing a little patriotic pride.....A salvaged quilt from a garage sale for my table cloth....red, white and blue bunting....some flags....and a few of my vintage baskets.......
Not too big of a gathering this year, just some family....
......and good food, fun and fireworks.....
I hope you spend a wonderful day with your family and friends. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Love the photos from your inspiration notebook as well as from your home.

That tier thing reminds me of something that might be from Gooseberry Patch.

Hi Mish,

I found your blog through PTI and boy, am I glad I did! You have so many wonderful ideas here that just fit my "country style!" Your 4th of July post is simply the very best!

I would like to use your idea of the "tent" cards in doing some of my work. If that is okay, just let me know and I will certainly give you credit for introducing it to me. I just love your work with them.

I love, love, love your blog and I will be back to visit often.

Love, Glee

Honestly, I thought your back porch was a continuation of the magazing/catalog article. You are so creative and fun. I love coming to your blog.

THANKS SO MUCH for sharing images of your 4th celebration. I had a girlfriend visit for the weekend and we stamped and played the entire time! SO FUN! I don't get a chance to do that very much anymore! I have a lot of things half finished so my goal will be to complete them (ah, just like your blog entry for 7/6!). BUT I just had to jump in to say that seeing your pictures reminds me of home, and family summers when I was little. I miss those summer afternoons and evenings chasing lightening bugs with Mom, Dad, and grandparents hanging out chatting about the weather! Love reliving those times through your wonderful shared stories. THANKS!

Which magazine did you find the red, white, and blue tiered diplay piece in? In the picture it has candy on it. You mentioned you did not know the source for it. Thanks in advance.
Thanks!
Pamela

Your work is beautiful!!
