Whatever!

I love you people who leave negative comments...but always forget to leave your name. You entertain me. Edited to add: I also love Velveeta, Miracle Whip and Pork Rinds.

Cool whip?! Premade cookie dough?! Ick! Not very domestic diva.

Geesh! Does this lady actually whip her own cream or what?!? LOL! I thought it looked pretty tasy, myself. And... why spend all that time making things from scratch if it saves time & tastes good? That's my theory, at least. :)

Kelley Eubanks said...

LOL!! You go girl! If you can't say anything nice... just move on to the next blog!

BTW... I never comment on here even though I have followed you forever! Don't be thinking it was me! :) Just wanted to say that I like a woman who will call someone out! :)

Lynn said...

omg...I thought the recipe looked pretty tasty! I am definitely going to try that cookie recipe. Who wants to spend time in the kitchen when there is papercrafting to do, right?

Anonymous said...

Aren't those the four basic food groups? lol I love your blog and your recipes. I have tried several and they are just delish!!! Gotta go, I think I'll make me some cheez whiz nachos before my TV shows start. Life's too short to take negative comments seriously. Patty

I love your blog Michelle! And I use shortcuts all the time...I work full-time retail hours and have two kids and sometimes shortcuts are a lifesaver.

I had a neighbor like "anonymous" once who thought that making everything from scratch was better. Trust me...it wasn't.

Anonymous should go read another blog then...just my opinion...and I'll be using my real name. Oh, and I'm one of "those people who say it like it is!" ;)

Patti J said...

Some people just have too much time, and no common sense. And...are just plain mean! I actually LOVE that you don't whip your own cream! I'd feel like a real loser running out and buying cool whip! lol... So glad you held your ground!

Lynn said...

Good Lord...you go on Mish! I absolutely adore your blog and have zero patience for negativity. It is a choice to follow blogs...if you don't like it...move on to the next one...too many wonderful times in life to spend time on negativity. I love all your inspiration and peaks into your everyday life. THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US! Keep it coming!

Mean people suck!

Just as not everyone has the ability to create wonderful works of art, some are just plain "challenged" in the kitchen! Shortcuts and "cheater" methods make perfect sense to me! My kitchen sees me doing both "from scratch" and "cheater", and I know from your previous posts that it is the same for you. Too bad anonymous is a kitchen snob (and snarky besides)...

Betty said...

cool whip is a staple in my fridge - try betty crocker pumpkin spice cookies (the mix comes in a bag) - they are yummy with powdered sugar frosting drizzled on.

Why would anyone bother to say mean things.. let it go, some people are never happy, I love your blog and cards. It's the first one I check everyday,to see what you have come up with next..I brought you those little tin cups to the Cha show in Chicago. Hope you were able to put them to good use.

What a snarky comment. I love your blog and look forward to each new post, whether it is crafty or whatever. I love your Etsy items too! You've even inspired me to use some of my grandmothers things in unique ways in my craft room and I am so glad I found a way to enjoy them everyday.

You know, I don't know why those people bother....I love what Kelley E. said!
I love reading everyday, I just don't know what kind of "tasty bit" for eyes or otherwise I will find! :0)

I'm with everyone else- I love your blog & all your ideas!!! I'm always amazed that people will go out of their way to be nasty... WHATEVER is right!!!! :D
(and I can't wait to try those pb & reeses cookies!!)

Wow, Mish...you're hilarious! Even though I aleady love your blog...I love it even more now. Thanks for making us feel inspired every day & for making us all laugh along with you.

Save me some velveeta (which goes great mixed with a can on Hormel chili and tortilla chips)!

Jackie T said...

Please - I used to make all pie crusts from scratch and peanut butter kiss cookies from scratch. After twenty years I discovered that pillsbury tastes just as good for a fraction of the time. Why spend quality time that could be used for friends, family or crafting ;) to stand in the kitchen to get the same results? Believe me, I have quizzed friends and family who could not tell the difference, and I am a great baker, btw - lol! Keep up the great blog, love it!

Good for you! I have only recently discovered that a lot of people like to make very mean comments hiding behind their computer screen! I'm appalled, although I *suppose* I shouldn't be. AND - can I mention that Pioneer Woman makes a similar cookie recipe w/ store bought dough and mini candy bars, so there!

Geez, some people's children! Just for the record, I wasn't the anonymous poster, lol!!

I also wanted to let you know that I love how you are handling this! You go Mish!!

Don't let the negatives get you down! MOST of your followers, though some like myself are often lurkers, adore your projects and the things you share.

I love when I get to "know" someone through their crafts, then they grace me with a peek into their daily lives. Even if it is Cool Whip and half-handmade cookies. :)

Yum... I could go for some pork rinds. Good thought, Mish! ;)

People shouldn't judge people by what they use in the kitchen!
I like your blog, always a joy to come by.
I use shortcuts too, and sometime I make things from scratch.

What's the point of leaving a comment if you're just going to dis someone? Someone clearly has too much time on their hands and too much attitude. Cool whip rocks. It's my shortcut for desserts because let's face it, I don't have time or energy to just whip cream. I have cards to make and blogs to follow--like your blog! Loving all the holiday ideas! Thanks for sharing.

Gaby said...

Thanks God you used pillsbury dough, otherwise we wouldn't have those beautiful posts with your paper creations!

I know you also make things from scratch, (jalapeno jelly for example...)but it's nice to hear there's people out there using pre-made ingredients, too.

I love your posts and I visit you every day :), I followed you from PTI

I figure people like this are pretty unhappy with themselves and their own life to write nasty, negative comments on someone's blog. If you posted that you had made everything from scratch, their comment would have been "well, it must be nice to have the time to do all that"
It all comes down to Karma, baby---and I think it's gonna suck to be them down the road!!!

I LOVE your blog--don't ever change!

As a Family & Consumer Science (also know as home economics in other parts of the country) teacher in Northern New York, my motto is buy premade and spice it up. Yes, it's fun to make things from scratch but who has the time. My students are getting the skills to know how to "go homemade" if they choose but many times it's just as easy and economical to buy premade. Anyway, enough of that - I say bring on more of great recipes - I"ve made quite a few of them and have never had a complaint so thanks for sharing so generously!

JeanD said...

You're a domestic and crafty "godess" in my book. I thank you for all the inspiration you give us with your craft, decorating and cooking. Who cares if it's not all "from scratch" (other than the obvious one). we should each be able to cook/craft/decorate as we please if our families are happy with it.

Lisa said...

Your projects are among the cutest on the web and I visit you blog daily for inspiration. Why on earth would anyone take the time to actually leave a negative comment? You've got to ignore stupid people and keep posting your amazing work for those of us who are addicted to your blog!! LOVE YOUR WORK!!!

Beth said...

SPEW! Maybe you need to open a can of Whoop@$$ in your next recipe! LOL! THAT'S A SHORT CUT! I know *YOU* have that in your closet!

Remember - people can be totally rude - remember the woman who told me to get my eyebrows done! LOL!

I think you can hold your own, Mish!
And, I don't know how much more domestic you can get. All of the crafty goodness you create just blows my mind. I look forward to reading your blog daily. And on the days you don't update, I am lost! Keep on doing what you do!

Debbie Fisher (debbiedee) said...

Mish, I am sooo glad you posted your recipe. I make these every year and I make them the LONG way. I was thrilled to learn of a short cut!

Shan said...

Gosh, I'd love to see what this person thinks of my doings because I am the queen of using shortcuts...I always think, oh how I would love to be more domestic like Mish but with three little kids and one on the way....not going to happen anytime soon! This is the 5th blog I have visited that has had negative comments. I don't understand what gives people the right! I'm doing a cookie swap and I was totally going to use your cookies for it! Still am! Love your blog! I visit it everyday!

I'm sorry for the mean comment-You have many great ideas-and if she didn't think so she wouldn't be on your blog to begin with.....so with that said I hope you can let it go and chalk it up to someone that doesn't realize that someone like me needs those shortcuts and easy to follow recipes....I thank you!

Sarah O. said...

Hahahahaha...LOVED your Edit!! Don't let the turkeys get you down. Annonymous probably pumps her water from a well too ~ instead of using the faucet "short cut".

That person needs to get a life in the real world. For HER information fat free Cool Whip has helped me lose 26 pounds.

Evidently she doesn't have any real friends who've told her that she is rude.

KanataNewf said...

good for you on the call out. Personally, I thought it all looked pretty tasty and would try for myself. Albeit from scratch because I am one of "those" people who does that sort of thing (no kids=lots of time to play in the kitchen and craft room). That being said - I'm not above the short cuts! (and definitely prefer Miracle Whip to real mayo!)

mamajulie said...

I can't believe someone would be so negative with you when you share so freely with us. Some people are just mean and bad to the bone--like the old man who followed me to my car in the mall and yelled at me for no reason. Funny part--bypassers asked him if I was "bothering" him when he was verbally assaulting ME. Try to laugh it off and move on.

Have never posted before, but just couldn't keep my mouth shut.

In my eyes, You ARE a domestic diva...you care and love your family and you seem to make the most mundane normal things in life a celebration. I need to do more of this. You inspire me, cool whip and premade dough and all.

Hello....Cool Whip. Um. Yeah. I use it. I even buy the store brand instead of name brand. Shame on ME!!! Mish - you rock my crafting world. And, I think you are an over the top mom. You do so many wonderful things for your little gals. The post with the special strawberry breakfast you served up in a fashionable style is still one of my faves. Just because we cut a few corners now and then, does not make us less of a person. Those who think otherwise need to go dunk their homemade oreos in their homemade cocoa, topped with their homemade marshmallows. By the time they are done, I'll have had mine, read a book to my kiddos, and stamped 3 cards!

Cheri said...

Really? You like pork rinds? Oh girl. . . you just gave me some good ammunition! I tried to get my hubby to eat them and he was horrified! Now I can tell him that Mish loves them too. . . :-) And really, don't all the BEST domestic divas love them?!?!?

Way to call out the negative blogger. I agree with so many of the others posters - shortcuts are for everyone and allow us time to spend with our families and crafting. I wouldn't change a thing.

You Go Girl! People never cease to amaze me with their negativity and there is no place in my world for it. Good for you for posting it and calling it out. You are amazing and I love and follow your blog all the time. I think it's wonderful to be able to use "short-cuts" when we can and I use them as well as bake from scratch when I can. I don't know but that looked pretty yummy to me.

Way to go, Michelle, for calling this person out! I don't "get" why people leave negative comments. Didn't their momma ever teach them that if they don't have something nice to say, they shouldn't say anything???

Ok, sooo far behind and just now having a moment to catch up and I have to comment on someone's lack of courtesy.
First off, that person needs to check Betty Crocker! They have some of the most awesome cookies, all made from their mixes, AND a contest that you can win $thousands$ if you submit a winning recipe. Some even have Cool Whip in them...Ever tried Strawberry Dreams? Strawberry cake mix, Cool Whip and an egg? Drop on a sheet, bake 10 minutes and they are some of the bestest, gooeiest cookies you have ever had!:)
Second, that person apparently doesn't know how much work goes into growing your own veggies, canning and freezing that fresh produce, running a household with a hubby and 2 young girls, working...I know how much work that is and therefore, I don't do it. My fresh produce comes from Kroger's, or my Mom (who grows her own) and sometimes I'm pretty sure DCS could take the kids from the state of my house... Mish, you are the definition of Domestic Diva (watch out Martha!). Sticks and stones, that's how we're supposed to be...but sometimes you just gotta let that kindergartener out and have her say!
And a SMART domestic Diva always takes any shortcut that presents itself if it won't sacrifice on taste or quality, and Cool Whip and Toll House is NO sacrifice!
Love all your AWESOME ideas, you inspire everyday!:)

Priscilla Heistad said...

Seriously, some people need to get a life! Also, can I just say that "only" a mom is a HUGE job. Huge. And the most important one. I hope anonymous gets his/her eggs from his/her own chickens!

You still inspire me, Mish.

Katherine said...

Oh, all of you ladies are so lovely, I for one am not such a nice person.

I really just have to say...
Who do you think you are?! How utterly judgmental and so outrageously RUDE! Domestic Diva? Since when is that a requirement for being an awesome mother? Not in my book.

I seem to remember that as a mom that our primary job is to care for and love our children. These young girls are some of the happiest and smilingest (yes, I know it's not a word) kids you could ever meet.

Last I heard, teaching your children to be good, honest and giving is much preferred over teaching them to be self righteous, arrogant and shallow.

Anonymous, get a life!
