Mini Christmas Notebooks

Hi everyone, glad you liked my Holiday Inspiration Station. Please link me up to yours if you make one, I'd love to see it. We're having water line problems today due to some faulty copper pipes...so I'll make this a short post today.

A while back, my friend Carmen came over and we whipped up some cute holiday notebooks. These are the junior notepads that you find at any local office supply store or Walmart. I have my printing shop cut them in half for me so that I can make my mini notepads. They measure about 2.5" x 8". The cardstock covers the front, spine and back and then you embellish the fronts.

The first ones I made use My Mind's Eye patterned paper and the Papertrey set called Merry and Bright. Sentiment is from the Papertrey set called Take a Bough.
I stamped the fun tree pieces in Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado and Aqua Mist Papertrey inks. The tall image fit perfectly into the Spellbinder's Long Dies. Papertrey Pure Poppy Saddle Stitch ribbon finishes off the main image.
My second set of mini notebooks use Made of Snow from Papertrey Ink. I paper pieced the scarf with some My Mind's Eye patterned paper that coordinates with the cute MME snowman background paper. More of the same PTI ribbon and Marvy snowflake punches and buttons finish off the design.
Here's a closeup of the cute snowman. I used a cool blue Copic marker to add some shading and then applied glitter on top of that for some shimmer.
Here's the notebooks that Carmen made. I think she did a fantastic job, don't you? I love her Papertrey Santa image from the Believe set that she layered up with paper pieced presents. Her patterned paper was from Basic Grey, last year's line I believe.
We'll be using these for little gifts for friends and teachers. I must make more!

Will you please STOP using that MME paper!?!?!? Every time you use it I think, "I NEED some of that paper," and have yet to find it locally. I think I may finally break down and get some online. Thanks for the great gift idea!

So cute! I actually started an inspiration station when I was stamping yesterday, and decided that I need to either 1) buy more Longaberger baskets or 2) go to some antique stores so I can find cool things to put my stash in. :) Last year I did a scrapbook in January that covered the previous year. I've though about making the pages for that, just like you made a December one. Thanks for the constant inspiration!!

Those are so cute... I didn't see but did you add a pocket to the left side? I think it would be a perfect shopping companion: list on the right, receipts into the pocket on the left. hmmm... gets my creative juices flowing!

What kind of die cutting machine do you use? I am in search of one but not sure which one is the best. I love the scallop square punches you use alot and would like to have a machine that does that one. thanks

Awesome Idea!

Clever idea to slice those notepads in 1/2. There's some cute stuff happening here. Love it - Carmen did a great job too. Would that be the Carmen of the impeccable manicure Carmen?? :-)

Thanks for the cute ideas.
