Celebrate the Season Stocking

Hi everyone! I have been sick with a terrible head cold and just too much running lately. It finally caught up with me and I was in bed all day yesterday! I'm up and about today...moving slllooooowww though. Thank you so much to all who took my challenge to join in on making cards for the Make A Child Smile organization. I will compile all the names and add them to my list soon, so be looking for that update.

Today I have a short post so that I can play a little catch up in the stamp room....and my messy house. There are remnants of Halloween costumes and candy wrappers scattered everywhere along with the usual laundry and toothpaste splatters on the mirrors. A mom's job is never done, right?

So today I'm sharing another Christmas card made with a Lockhart stamp called Child's Stocking. Opening your stocking on Christmas morning has to be one of the biggest thrills.....to see what Santa left...wondering how he got down the chimney since there was a fire in there.....did he eat the cookies we left for him? The innocence of my children is something I will always cherish.

Karen's stocking stamp is filled with children's toys and candy and greenery. I colored my stocking with Copic Sketch markers, using the fine tips to get into all the tiny details of Karen's images. I then cut and embossed my rectangle using Spellbinder's Nestabilities Dies. I used a scallop cut red layer and then adhered the main image to my card front. Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye, red ribbon from Papertrey Ink.
Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink with three green sequin stickers added for embellishment. You can also see the amazing detail that you get with the Spellbinder's Nestabilities embossing.
Well, Halloween is over soon the leaves will all be gone from the beautiful trees and we'll be carving that big, juicy turkey. Can you believe that 2008 is almost over? I'm really hoping to get a head start on all of the holiday festivities so that I can sit back and enjoy the holiday and truly appreciate the real meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I've also completed my Daily December Album that I talked about a few days ago. When I get a little more energy, I'll take photos and post them for you. On with the day for me though......later, my friends.

So sorry you are sick! I just don't think it is fair that moms get sick at all. We should definitely be exempt until the kids are grown and gone! LOL! Take is easy! I do love your card today! Great coloring as always and the paper is absolutely yummy! Thanks for making me smile!
