Project Life..1st week in January + One Little Word

Happy Snowy Monday! No school today so my girls are thrilled. My dad's picking me up for a post office run here in a bit and then it's Wii dancing this afternoon with the reds.

I have my first week of Project Life done so I thought I would share. Here's the double spread along with my One Little Word addition. Again, I am using the Amber Edition. You can click on the label at the end of this post to see all my posts referring to Project Life 2011, Scrapbooking and One Little Word 2011.
Left side of my week. Those collage photos with the white border were created using a Walgreen's collage function. Just upload your photos and use the collage feature to create some fun photos.
Right side of my week. The split double photo of Jordan on the top left was created with my Canon Selphy printer. Love that I can 2, 4, 6 and more shots on one photo....then print it out.
For one of my photos, I took the Project Life label that was wrapped around my album along with a little print of Ali's quote for One Little Word. I love these visuals so I adhered them to some of the patterned paper that came with the kit.
I was talking about how I saw on the Project Life Community boards a layout that the Project Life pages intermingled with One Little Word pages. Instead of creating a separate album, you just slip the page protectors into the Project Life album. Since my goal is to have only one family scrapbook album this year, this was PERFECT! I'm not sure if the One Little Word pages will go in the album at the dates when I create the pages....or if they'll maybe be stuck in the front of the album. I'll see how the album progresses after Ali gives out more assignments.

Also, I love the rainbow-y colors of the Amber Edition Project Life album this year. I'm really looking forward to using more of these mixy matchy colors in my projects. Using a polka dot paper from the Project Life kit and another fun patterned paper, I created two scallops using Papertrey scalloped dies....and a paper doily. I love how this ties in with the colors on the Project Life pages this week. A little Mister Huey mist from Studio Calico also helped to tie in the colors. As you can, my word for this year's One Little Word project is PROGRESS. Really looking forward to tackling some items this year. Must stay on task and keep looking forward.
We were to include a 5 x 7 photo too. This one is my favorite and I had an extra lying around so into the album it went.
So. How are you progressing on your Project Life album? Have you completed week one? I'm ready for week two and have my first photo and journaling card completed. Here's a good tip: Take 10 minutes a day to add in more journaling cards and filler cards. I sat while Jordan played her guitar for me and added in about 6 additional week's worth of cards into the page refills. I also added the date stamps, arrow stickers and day stickers to the journaling cards. You never know when you might get crazy busy. If you have the time, work ahead a little.
Hope you enjoy. My taxi ride is arriving any minute so I gotta run. :)

love it. I am not doing a 365 with my PL kit, so I can't work ahead that far, but I am leaving mine in the living room so I work on it more often.

I carefully set aside the Becky Higgins label on the plastic hoping to put it in my album too but for some reason I can't locate it. Hoping it will show up and didn't go into the trash ): Love the thought of adding your "WORD". I look forward to seeing more.

I LOVE that you are sharing some of your pages. I've never done PL and I'm a little intimidated. Seeing your gorgeous pages is helping me get over my anxiety. And it's beautiful eye candy. :)

Ack! LOVE your first week! I just received my Project Life kit yesterday. I wasn't intending on doing a "daily" album, but I really love how yours is set up, so I might just have to change my mind.... Thanks for the wonderful inspiration Mish!

Thank you so much for showing your Project Life progress! I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing, and have to figure out how to print photos easily. My kit came last weekend & we assembled it. Got too excited and messed up the date stamp on a card, then decided to write it instead...I wrote the year as "20011"...it was all kind of funny :)

Great tips and ideas - I'm make a OWL and a PL album but making 2 different ones - enjoying both so far. I like how you combined the 2.

I also really like the tip about making the collage photo - great idea !

I am having so much fun with PL! I have also included OLW into my "scrapbook". Have also decided to include major news events. I included the headlines from the Phoenix newspaper about the tradegy in Tucson. Am also recording things like price of gas, how often I exercise each week. Simple "life" things. I look forward to hearing more about your PL. Grace

Michelle: I think I have written before but want to reiterate that I have never met anyone who so obviously loves their children with such a pure, unshakable unconditional love as you do. I was a single parent struggling to just put one foot in front of the other while keeping my fingers crossed that the electricity had not been disconnected. I never really got to enjoy the kids.

That is why God gives us a "do-over" with our grandchildren. Reading your blog in ways makes me sad for what could have been but incredibly happy for what can be and is with my beautiful grandchildren. Your children are blessed beyond compare.
