Birthday Cards & Tags

Hi friends. Welcome to the second group post this month from Papertrey Ink. Today we're celebrating all sorts of birthdays celebrations. Each member of the Design Team has a special card and tag idea to show you today.

For my project, I chose a teenage girl's birthday. Josey will be 14 this summer and it will mark a time of new beginnings. If you have a special, teenage girl with a birthday coming up why not make a very special gift wrap and tag for her. For my sack, I pulled a pretty sack and tissue from my gift wrap stash.
I then created a beautiful card and tag to coordinate with it. For my card, I created a background using Happy Spots patterned paper, a Dainty Doily and stamped numbers on Clearly Creative Cardstock. The new Limitless layers 2.5" plain circle die cut through the clear cardstock like butter.
On top of that I used Papertrey butterfly dies to create a fun felt and paper accent, adorned with green rhinestones. Machine stitching secures the butterflies, clear circle and doily to the patterned paper.
I used die cut numbers from the new By the Numbers Die Collection coming out this month on the 15th. Oh how I love these big numbers. The circles with the cupcakes stamped on them are punched tags I made using the new 2011 Birthday Tags stamp set. These circles take on a background look when adhered under other elements and then stitched to the patterned paper. Baker's twine finishes off the card front.
For the inside of my card, I used sentiments from Big Birthday Wishes. Another great set debuting this month that features sentiments that coordinate with the By the Numbers Die Collection. Another stamped circle punch was adhered inside too. A strip of patterned paper features a fun edge made by using a new Edger die.
For the tag, I used more of the same supplies as for the card and adhered all my elements to the new Tag Sale #3 die. This tag features a dotted embossing line that is added right when you die cut the tag. It also has a separate tag topper that adds added reinforcement and color to the tag.
I can't wait to find the perfect present to tuck into this fun gift sack for Josey. Another tip: My girls love to give out gifts to all their pre-teen/teenage friends. Stocking up a few cards and sacks like this will make you the coolest mom ever. Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Hi, Michelle. Long time fan here. I want to say that I admire that you are true to your style. You stick with it and still always make it new. You start with foundations and build up from there. THAT is exactly what I want to learn how to do!! Thank you for your inspiration. This is the ultimate blog.
