In my purse I have...work keys, car keys, 2 diapers, small pack of wipes, kleenex, nail clippers, wallet (wish it had money in it..LOL), 2 bottles of Window Chalk from decorating the car for my oldest daughter's cheerleading competition last weekend in Dallas, and last but not least Tylenol. :) Thanks for the chance to win...LOVE your stuff!!

I thought it would be fun to play along with Nichole's challenge so I created this fun little, patchwork tote. It uses Moda and Amy Butler Fabric.
An adorable little tote, finished up with Papertrey Berry Sorbet ribbon handle and a fancy little bow and heart embellishment.
Completely lined and oh so cute! Well, I think so.
With a little somethin' inside.....Butterfinger and Reese's Hearts (I've eaten two from the pack already, my faves!).....snippets of ribbon on a wooden clothespin(available at Dollar Tree)......
....and a little signed by mwah. Card uses Kraft and Vintage Cream cardstock, Berry Sorbet Swiss Dot ribbon and ink, buttons, Simply Stationery stamp set and some cute embellishments I made HERE using Heart Prints(a must have Valentine set!). I tied one onto the bag also.

Oh my gosh what a stinkin cute tote bag. Even though I have AAA I always have an extra set of car keys just in case. Years ago I locked a Rib Roast in the car and had to call my husband at work to come and save the roast.
Your bag is adorable!!! I miss quilting (a hobby I use to have) and this little bag reminds me of that.
I always carry my asthma inhaler...cuz you just never know. I also always have to have a multitude of pens (no clue why, i just do).

I always carry photos of my two kids in whatever purse I happen to be using. I can pull them out whenever I need to see their darling faces! They are 21 and 17 now but I still love their darling faces! haha!
How very creative you are! I carry my glasses and when we go to a restaurant, my husband always wants them to read the menu. I tell him he needs to carry his glasses adn don't ya just know, one night, I forgot mine. Well, long and short, he now carries his glasses!
My crafting money is limited so I have some paper cirlces in my purse because I'm looking for circle punches on sale. I don't want to forget the sizes I already own, so I have the exact circles in my purse.

In my purse....empty gum wrappers. I'm doing WW and always try to keep some yummy gum around when I need to shove SOMETHING in my mouth. Well, then the kids find it and all I get is wrappers!
That is the prettiest bag I have seen. My last purse was made by my mother and was quilted in a patriotic/red-white-and-blue theme - loved that purse with all the pockets - very organized. This is a beautiful bag- thank you for the chance to win! What I have in my purse, hmmm, first let me tell you what I do NOT usually have it in- things I need! I never seem to have my coupons, never a bandaid, paper clip or rubberband, sometimes tissues, and certainly last but not least, enough money(cash form). My purse is usually *overflowing* with receipts. I forget to clean it out on a regular basis and I'm usually the one holding up the line saying, "Hold on, I know I have my coupon in here somewhere." Same with my driver's license - I can never find that in my mess.
Other than that - just the usual stuff. Whenever my DH says, "Can you fit my wallet in purse?", I just laugh.

Your bag is a-dor-a-ble!!! My huge purse, which is actually a black hole, weighs about 10 pounds. In there is a huge wallet with many, many coupons, credit cards, store cards, gift certificates, etc., etc. I also have a note pad and many, many scraps of paper to remind me what to buy for groceries, scrapbooking supplies and items I need for the baby shower I'm giving for my daughter in a couple weeks. It's a mess!

I "try" to carry as small a purse as possible......"try" being the operative word! LOL I really hate carry big purses, but I just can't seem to go as small as I want. I think my wallet is too big! I can't go anywhere without Orbit Maui Melon gum in my purse. I buy it by the case, and if I forget to put a pack in my purse, I turn around and go home to get it. Even though I could run into any convience store and pick it up LOL

My Vera Bradley Bucket Tote purse contains all the usual stuff, but the handiest thing I carry in it is a little notebook that I make my lists, create little sketches, record ideas, and just write down daily thoughts. I treasure this little book and carry it with me wherever I go.

I have three little boys so I have it all in my purse! The item that comes in handy the most is a tiny pair of scissors that fold so there is nothing sharp sticking out! I use them all the time and my boys will even come up to me and ask for my tiny scissors for no reason at all because they think they're so cute!

Love the tote! I have been sewing lately and have been thinking of trying a tote bag. I carry a George Costanza wallet. Seriously, it's stuffed and cashiers roll their eyes at me when I start digging for the debit card. I can't even zip it anymore and it's so stuffed that you could probably turn it upside down and nothing would fall out. I was shocked when I pulled up your page today and saw your purse. Yesterday I was working on a tote bag for my Mom out of the very same fabric! Love the POSH line! In my purse I always have an EPI pen as my son has food allergies and we could need it at a moments notice.

The essential item: a Brighton pill case. My fourth grade teaching team call it the candy box. I have to have it stocked with excedrin migraine and tyneol. I keep thinking I am going to get them their own bottles, but it is great to see my gals need the relief as much as me!

Oh my - that tote is beyond adorable!!!! I'll answer your question with a question... what don't I have in my purse?! Aside from the typical (wallet with snipets of notes shoved in it and old receipts from gosh knows where), crinkled coupons that are probably expired, handful of make-upy type things (lip balm, brush, floss, hand sanitizer, cough drops), my checkbook, iphone, pens, notebook, YIKES! A woman after my own heart - fabric and stamping stuff. Love Moda and Amy Butler. Hmmmm - what's in my purse. I try to carry a small purse, but it has to be big enough to handle cell phone, PDA, wallet, multiple sets of key rings (my car, other family cars, and work keys.) I have one little Moda fabric card holder that is used exclusively for the punch card at my favorite quilt shop. My most favorite thing however is a little red leather carrier that is the keeper of all of my preferred shopper, frequent buyer, reward zone, business card type thingies. This way they don't clutter up my wallet and I can easily sort through them to find the one I need. Love your bag and the goodies inside. Thanks for sharing it with us. I think your daughters right. My purse? What do I not carry in there...
I have my iphone and my old sumsung phone, that doesn't work, but it's my 16 month daugther's phone...and two cords for my iphone, one ipod, about 5 lipsticks that I can never seem to find, and baby wipes for emergencies (like when my little Catarina blows her nose on my suit right before work!)

Oh Michelle - that tote is just too cute!!! You know, it's funny. I have this whole set of things I "must" keep in my purse at all times and I "must" take my purse everywhere, but honestly, I NEVER open the whole middle section (with all the "must haves" in it)! BUT, if I ever have an emergency, I DO have stray feminine items, a tiny needle and thread kit (gosh, do I even remember how to sew?), nail clippers, a tiny mister of hairspray I'm wishing I could use up because I want to re-use the bottle, and gum. Lots of gum. Which I might chew once or twice a month.
hmmmm....more like what do I NOT have in my purse. I have everything from diapers to makeup to grocery lists and everything in between. If I won your purse, though, I would fill it with only items for myself. No spilled sippy cups in the bottom of that gorgeous creation!!! :)

The kids are grown - and my purse is now my own! I carry everything I could possibly need - I think - but then I never seem to be able to find a pen - but the cell phone, lipstick, aspirin, and dental floss - yes dental floss are all there. Oh and one of those little tape measure rolls. Never know when you might find something that needs to be measured.

What an adorable bag - perfect for summer, I would love to have it. I am one of those gals that has to be prepared for anything so I carry everything. The worst thing is that I put a new lipstick in about every day so there are tons of them floating around in there so I have to retrieve them every so often to restock my makeup box at home.

Okay. My purse is a turquoise patent-leather purse from Guess and the shoulder strap is braided. I have gotten a lot of compliment on that bag ever since I got it and I have to admit that it's probably my favorite purse I ever bought.
What I like most is that it has two really small pockets zipping on the front, just big enough for my home keys and my car keys! Never have to hunt around for them.
I'm a really light traveller when it comes to my purse: I have my wallet, gum, my office security card, a nail file, lip gloss, lip balm and Band-aids. That's it! :)

I always, always, always, no matter what, have chapstick in my purse! I'm addicted to the stuff! My lips get really dry and I go crazy if I don't have my chapstick!

I'm pretty picky about purses. I only own 1 (GASP I know!) It's worn and loved but it works for me. The most interesting thing in my bag is Chapstick. My 3 yt old loves lip gloss and chapstick. I swear she is always wanting more. I think I have about 5 different berry flavors in there right now. LOL

Oh wow is this bag cute! When I read Jordan was going to be upset I was all ready to be 'big' about it and say let her keep it if I win. But since you're not only incredibly talented, you're a smart mom and cut two....I won't be 'big'. I would love to have this darling bag all for myself and hope my daughter doesn't steal it.
I only carry tiny purses -- it cuts down on the family wanting to put their junk in it. lol I always have wallet, cell, 2 lip glosses, roll on perfume, tiny hand sanitizer (refillable). My van holds everything else, the diapers, toys, lotion, coupons, etc, etc, etc. It's my rolling 'purse'.
Well, my purse has become a "mom's bag" over the past 2 years, toting everything from a large snack dish, juice boxes, wipes, diapers and stuffed toys to keep my little girl occupied while out shopping. but the one constant thing I can't be without are my sunglasses, I lost partial vision in one eye a few years ago and am super sensitive to light now, even on cloudy days. If I don't have them with me, I am in big trouble!
I love the fabrics you chose Mish! Moda and Amy Butler are some of my favorites:)) I would love to say you'd find some lipstick, or some other "usual" purse item, but in my case I'm overloaded with hair barrettes in my purse. The girls never keep them in long and I'm usually the dumping ground!
So cute! I think the craziest thing in my purse would probably be binoculars...yes, I said binoculars. I go to lots of hockey games and I MUST have my binocs so I can see all of the action! I know, crazy, but, whenever someone's with me, they want them and they know I got 'em! Of course, that being said, there's also a camera, glasses (that I only use at those hockey games), and the usual 'girl' stuff.
This is the cutest tote! I wish I could find that fabric somewhere...I'm going to look online for it!

Oh this is just adorable. I was waiting to see what you did with that beautiful fabric. Good thing you cut enough for two - don't want your daugher mad at us. I love the adorable bag. Its gorgeous. I have 2 little ones, so I usually carry a sippy cup, several lipglosses, diapers, wipes, to dolls or stuffed animals and of course, snacks and juice boxes galore.
The funny thing is my 18 month old has learned how to unzip and open things so I have loose change at the bottom of my bag. I know one day we are going to rush out of the house and I will have forgotten something b/c she took it out...

The "dullest" thing I carry is my Weight Watchers point calculator. I, embarrassingly, whip it out in the grocery store and exclaim "9 points!?! For *that*?!?"
Oh my - I love this tote and it is a must have for me. If I don't win it, I so must case it is you don't mind ! These days I have a little bit of everything in my purse, from a tape measure, to a small digital photo display to sugar free gum and a couple of glucose tablets in case my husband sugar drops while we are out and about. My DH uses the small tins from PTI to keep gum and sugar pills in his pocket, it has smooth corners and is just the right size.
I love this tote! My purse is a disaster area. I cannot keep it organized or zipped for that matter! There's at least 5 lbs. of loose change at the bottom for sure!

First let me say your bag is simply adorable! Wish everyday I had your talent. Because I try not to keep so much in my purse, I really only carry my wallet which probably contains the most important thing of all..... my debit card! Can't leave home without it!
Wow - I love it! Very cute! Let's see, my purse, I do always carry my palm pilot in it so I can keep track of where I'm supposed to be to get my kids to practices, games, appointments, school functions, etc. on time! Would be in trouble without it!
I have a purse that I don't hardly use. I always carry it around and then I stick things in my pants pocket. The tote is adorable and I love it, well I LOVE everything you create.
That purse is adorable - I can see why your daughter wants one. I carry a small tape measure in my purse because one never knows when one might need to measure something. I used to try guessing at measurements and if something is 24 inches tall it may as well be a mile - I apparently have no sense of distance at all. Which goes along with my no sense of direction - maybe I need to carry a compass, too!

As for whats in my purse...I'm a lip gloss junkie. I always have at least 4 or 5 varieties of lip gloss and that's on a good day, usually it's more! I always have tons of pens too.

This may be hard to believe, but I rarely carry a purse! I went from backpack to diaper bag to...not every wanting to carry an extra thing with me for the rest of my life. I don't take anything that doesn't fit into one of my or my husband's pockets!

I don't have anything exciting in my purse--sunglasses, wallet, small bottle of hairspray, receipts, eye drops, lotion, blistex, etc. Pretty much your basic stuff.
My dds will occasionally give me their hair elastics if we are out somewhere and they take their ponytails down. I put them in my purse but never take them out. For some reason when we are somewhere and they want a hair elastic, there are never any in my purse.
You know, Mish, as over the top wonderful as a $100 PaperTrey gift certificate would be, I think I'd be just as happy or happier with yours. Its *quilted* for pity sake!!!!! :-D
My purse... hmmm... I have a couple different size Vera Bradley bags that I use (because they're quilted, of course!) and probably the oddest thing I carry is a cute little Vera Bradley tape measure. I can't tell you how handy that comes in!!
The tote is adorable! As a mother of eight, what don't I carry in my purse!!! The item that I have carried the longest is my Texas Instruments BA-II calculator which I purchased when I went to college back in 1984. It is still going strong. I love that little tool! My 4th daughter just came through the room as I am typing this, and she said to mention that I always have a baggie of Whales (like goldfish only better!) in my purse. The unusual thing about carrying this item is they are for me not my children! I am shamelessly addicted to those things! My husband wants to send me to Whales Anonymous!! What's a girl to do?! First absolutely must have my prescription sunglasses plus a small bottle of glass cleaner and a wipe. I'm obsessive about clean glasses. I also have to have my little red swiss army knife/scissors. I use it for emergencey nail repairs and now that my kids are older, they always need it for something.

Your tote is so pretty! I don't have anything too exciting or unusual in my purse. I do always carry 2 altoids tins. One has altoid mints in it and the other carries cough drops. I keep thinking I should alter them but haven't yet--it would have to withstand being jostled around my purse.
You just reminded me I need to refill my gum!!!!!! This purse is so adorable, love the colors. I carry lip balm, cell phone, handy wipes, hand sanitizer, and photos of the kiddos. My very girlie 4 yr old daughter loved the purse also.

I just had to leave a comment about that bag--it is such a wonderful project! My purse comment is not really about MY purse but my BFF's purse. Pat carries the entire household in her purse. We tease her about it but it comes in handy when we're together. "Pat, have you got a stapler?" Zip! "Pat, do you have a paper punch?" Zip! Pat, do you have a potato peeler? Zip, well not really but it's close! It reminds me of the old Let's Make a Deal TV show where the emcee would ask women for something strange from their purse and they'd win if they produced it. Pat could have won big $$$$$$$ for sure!
The most valuable handy item in my purse is a tiny tape measure. It has been useful when in a store measuring for window treatments, and many other things. I just love your cute little tote. The tags are super! I marvelled at them when you did your original post of the "sewing" related tags. I have sewn all my life...I probably even own some of the vintage patterns, that's how old I am ! The latest addition to my always full purse is a small, reusable market tote by envirosax. I pull it out to save from using that one plastic bag when making a small shopping trip.
This is just too too cute. I love it and I want it!!!!! Is that being spoiled enough????? You wouldn't even want to see my purse it is a bottomless pit of stuff. But the most important thing in it is a cotton handkerchief of my dads that I carry to keep my glasses clean. My dad passed away 8 years ago and I have had one of his hankies with me ever since.

Wipes, Yes I still have wipes in my purse and my boys are 8 and 10. You would think that after they are out of diapers you could stop carring them but nope. Granted they are no longer baby wipes but plain wet wipes by Kleenex.

this bag is so darn cute! I may have to make one for my girls also. My husband is a BAG LOVER! He recently retrieved my old camcorder bag from the trash. It was one of the larger styles, from then the cameras took Hi8 tapes. When I asked why he needed that bag...he responded that it would be GREAT to carry guns in to the gun range...LOL My girls and I just about fell out laughing. Now everytime we see bags in stores, we comment that they would be great to carry guns in!

As for my purse--I try to keep it as light as possible. Actually, I've only just started using a purse. I used to only carry a wallet, that had a pocket for my cell. I found that much easier. Still not sold on the purse thing, but it does help when I have to take my camera with me somewhere.

Oh WOWZA! I am drooling over that tote! I'm known for my antibacterial lotion, gel, spray and wipes in my purse! Being a germaphobe I can never have too much of that stuff! It's like a tiny germ free clinic in my purse!

My purse is tiny; I just have my wallet, a comb, and chapstick in it. There is space to toss in my cell phone if I need to or car keys. I usually carry my purse inside another bag - diaper bag or work tote (with lunch, etc.).

Oh Mish, I love totes. I am always looking for a new one and depending on my mood, which one I carry. My purse isn't big enough to carry all I think I need, so a tote usually goes with me. My purse is never without my chapstick and lipstick. I think I'm addicted to it and always have a variety of Advil, Tylenol, Aleve and Motrin since I have two daughters that play Softball, Basketball and Volleyball and I spend a lot of time with the team -there is always someone that needs something. I try to keep my purse light and lean, but invariably fail miserably. Although I've forgotten my wallet, keys, cell phone and sunglasses on various occasions, the one thing I ALWAYS have in my purse is a little bottle of hand sanitizer. It's become a family joke.
Most people laugh when they hear that I clean my purse out every single day. Yep! can't stand a messy purse. Mine is light - too difficult lugging all that weight around (and not healthy either, girls!) Probably the most unusual item in my purse would be a six-inch plastic ruler. Not exactly sure why I carry it, but I do and have used it many many times! Also carry the usual stuff: wallet, cell, sunglasses, keys, mini journal, itty-bitty (about three-inch square!) cosmetic bag holding dental floss, tissues, contacts case and 'tears.' I absolutely LOVE the tote and would love to dump my stuff into it. Thank you for this opportunity!

The bag you made is adorable! Might inspire me to take out my sewing machine...or just buy fabric! One unusual thing in my purse is a cuticle pen. It holds oil to "draw" onto your cuticles. I love it!
The thing about winter is I don't like carrying a purse with a bulky coat... so I put everything in my coat pockets! It contains lipstick a car or two for my boys, an epi pen, pack of kleenex. I keep my "wallet" on my car keys so I don't lose it!
BUT, I love totes! I can never pass up a cute tote bag! I love yours!

I have my mini makeup bag for touch ups, a huge wallet that hold money (or not :) the receipts I stuff in there, etc...hairties and combs cause my girls always need one for sports and forget. my planner, bathroom emergency items, small kleenex, a book to read if I'm stuck waiting, gum pack (usualy empty from little fingers) inspiration notebook...and on any given day I have gloves, hats, spoons?? screwdrivers, the garage remote, various legos, ponies and you get the idea...i often wonder what is NOT in my bag. If I need it, its in there. Everyone makes fun of me for always carrying such a big bag, but I love it. and my arm muscle is ripped!! :)

I love totes. I'm a "bag lady" at heart! I carry a bag within a bag filled with "essential" bandaids, tylenol, antacids, safety pins, tissue, and, of course, chocolate!

Let's see, I have a broken key chain with letter beads that my son made for me a few years ago. The string has long been broken, but I keep the individual beads inside my purse, I'm a sentimental sap, I suppose.
I love that tote. You pick the best fabrics. My friends think that it is weird that I carry a tape measure around with me. But I need it for the ongoing search for storage supplies. Oh I just love this purse you made~ adorable! I have candy cane pens in my purse. I loved them when I was a kid and found them on clearance this year for 12 cents each. I love things that remind me of the past. :) Thanks for the fun blog candy! :)

omgoodness, that little purse is *so* darling!!!! love the fabrics!! and yes, you hit the nail on the head w/ the gum ~ my packs are empty because of my kiddos stealing, but hey, they're nice enough to leave the empty wrappers in there! ha! and i usually have some type of little army guy or a storm trooper in there from when they say, "hey mom, can you hold this for me?". the rest is the usual ~ wallet, receipts from 1980, lipstick, chapstick (gotta have it!), etc...
Phone, debit card, ID, chap stick and gum are the key elements. What actually happens is these items go between my pockets and my purse. The purse is usually inside my office bag that has papers and other work related items. I am a terrible purse carrier, but a cute tote such as this might help me change my ways!
There is not much that I don't carry in my purse. It is amazing to me how much it is. I actually counted $27.65 in change the other day in the bottom. Now I know why my shoulder was hurting. LOL Took my self out for a nice dinner with my change.

In my purse is my calendar. I need it to keep track of where everyone needs to be and when. And it has important phone numbers in it as well. Also is my bath and body spearmint lip gloss. Oh, those are the best. Thanks for the chance to win.
Oh WOW - Your tote is just beautiful. I am a quilter too, but have given it up for papercrafting but I must say your tote is making me jealous. As far as my purse goes it's got a little bit of everything in it. Just like a closet it is alway messy. It's alway full with those coupon cards and I can never find the right one. thanks for all you do, I enjoy your daily blog so much.

When I first met my husband he was a big card player. Any card game in the book, he would know how to play it. So, I started carrying around a deck of cards in my purse in case we were out somewhere and we needed a little something to help pass the time. After almost 6 years together, I still have that same deck of cards in my purse just for him. =)

First of all, your bag is darling! I love the fabric and the fun ribbon! Super cute! You are so generous to be using it as blog candy! My purse is usually too full, but one thing that is a *must have* for any germ freak is a travel lysol spray. That is one things that goes everwhere with me! LOL! I also have to have some type of hand sanitation availabe as well. That is usually in the form of Travel Wet-ones...they fit neatly in just like a check book! LOL! Maybe I have shared too much! hee hee!
This is a seriously cute bag...what fun colors! The contents of my purse are not nearly as interesting as they were 10 years ago. Those were the days of never leaving home without the favorite Hotwheels car and six or 12 of its best friends in my purse. My little guy is now 6'2" and prefers that I carry cash in my purse so he can use it to buy food...lots of food. My "never leave home without" item in my purse is cherry Chapstick. First--what a cute little tote! So sweet of you to offer to give it away. As far as my purse, probably the most interesting thing in it is the organizer I made out of plastic canvas to go inside it. I hate when everything runs together. So, I made little compartments where everything can fit.
I always carry pens and lip gloss, it seems I never have enough. I usually have at least 3 of each at all times...
This so reminds me of the shower game where you get points for carrying regular and then obscure things in your purse. My purse is really quite dull with the usual (checkbooks, pens, money, credit cards, cell phone, comb, chapstick, lotion, etc.) There are a couple of funny things in their too! My sewing tape measure, just in case and a pedometer that has been riding around for over a year and has never been used!
Sadly, my purse always seems to contain an assortment of stale Kix and chipped Cheerios floating around the bottom. Yuck! But I also always always always have my cell phone and some lip gloss.
