Welcome to a stop on the October Afternoon Farm Girl Blog Hop. Today, most of the October Afternoon Design Team is sharing a fun post featuring Farm Girl products. You can find the lineup of posts on the October Afternoon blog. You can find the Farm Girl collection of products here.
Today I used Farm Girl products on my Week 37 Project Life inserts. This was the week I did my first big cooking day for crock pot freezer meals. I thought the homespun papers of the Farm Girl line were perfect to highlight some grocery lists and cooking related photos.
This first photo shows my entire weekly spread with the 2 inserts. I like to show these photos with all the inserts so that you can see how I do my inserts. They're almost always smaller than a 12 x 12 size so that the main weekly spread shows through. I used a 6 x 12 insert and an 8 x 10 insert this week.
Here's the main weekly spread on it's own. Here's the left page of the weekly spread.
And the right page of the weekly spread.
I particularly liked this 4 x 6 insert showing Jordan and Josey face to face. Poor Josey just isn't growing any more and she's coming to terms with it.
Here's my 6 x 12 insert where I'm using the October Afternoon Farm Girl collection. This golden yellow/aqua/brown paper is one of my favorites from the line. I tucked my grocery list for my big cooking day into the 6 x 12 page protector then stitched it shut. I then tucked in the 4 x 6 portion which has my title and journaling.
Turning the page, here's the back side of the above 6 x 12 insert along with the front size of my 8 x 10 insert. The 6 x 12 insert has my menu plan for the week. The "meal plan" insert uses the back side of the OA patterned paper. The 8 x 10 insert has photos of my new slow cooker, my new slow cooker recipe books and our new refrigerator that came at just the right time. Here's the back side of the 8 x 10 insert. Here I highlight photos from my big cooking day. I used more of the Pickling Crock patterned paper along with chipboard letters and journaling. All of the little snippets are from the Farm Girl line too.
Here's a close up of my 2 coordinating insert pages.
I have one more cooking themed project for you today.....a recipe card. If you've been visiting my blog very long then you know I love to make handmade recipe cards. You can click on the label at the bottom of this post named "recipes" and all of my recipe posts will show up. This recipe is a favorite crock pot recipe that comes from my mom for Scalloped Potatoes and Weenies.
I used my favorite paper patterned papers from the Farm Girl collection along with a label from the Word Stickers sheet + a label I cut from the Almanac patterned paper.
The red ric rac sticker is from the 12 x 12 Shape Stickers sheet. The red stitching just seemed fitting since I've been using it for all my holiday projects.
This was so fun to make. I'm a true farm girl right down to my roots so this fun Farm Girl line is going to get good use. I can't wait to use it for more homespun type projects and scrapbook pages of my canned good, garden veggies and life in the country. But remember, one of the things I love best about October Afternoon is that in each themed line, there are gobs of products that will work for everyday type projects. You're gonna love it!To wrap up my post today, I'm giving away a rubber stamp set from the Farm Girl collection. The winner will be announced on December 12th. To enter for my prize drawing leave a comment on this post telling me either what you would create with the Farm Girl collection and/or if you're a crock pot user. Please note: I've had some issues with spam comments. You can log in anonymously but you must leave your full name in your post if you do so. Good luck! Oh, and there's a grand prize drawing over at the OA blog so be sure to check in there.
I'm the end of the blog hop so you can visit Danni's blog if you need the starting point. I'll be back soon with a big honkin' post kicking off my slow cooker and freezer meal fun! Thanks for stopping by today.

Such fun projects!!!!!! I'd love to make a mini album with the Farm Girl collection for my boss...she's having her first baby {girl} this month and this collection would be perfect for her!
This is fabulous!!! I am definitely a crock pot user, though definitely not to the extent it looks like you are - usually just once a week or so. And I will totally use this collection to document our gardening adventures! I have 2 of my own farm girls (and some farm boys!) Thank you for the chance!!
Love your Project Life pages! Farm Girl would be perfect for scraping pictures of my garden!
Thanks for the giveaway, Merry Christmas! -Katie

Amazing project and love your approach to keeping a record of every day life. The recipe card is brilliant! So inspirational. Looking forward to creating with the new Farm Girl collection
I spent a day last fall making freezer bags of crock pot meals. Pinterest was my resource.
Love Farm Girl!
I love slow cooker meals, but I don't do them as often as I would like! My favorite slow cooker meal is beef stew that is so creamy and delicious! I love OA, and would truly be so thrilled to get a set of stamps in the mail!
I love cooking in my crock pot. My mom when I was growing up used it frequently too. I am making dinner for a group of my friends for our Christmas together and my menu will be pot roast, potato's and carrots in the crock pot.
I love OA and look forward to using the Farm Girl line. I think I own about every line they have come out with for the last five years. They are a great company.--Diana Finlay.
You are one of the main reasons I have almost finished my first year of Project Life! Thank you for all the inspiration you give me on every post! My crock pot is ancient but still cooks on.
I love your pages and the way you weave a favorite recipe from your mom and your childhood into the collection of stories and pictures from today. I share your love of crockpots. It definitely makes my dinner prep so much easier! I keeping pinning recipes for the make-ahead freezer meals for the crockpot but I haven't tried any yet. I am looking forward to your post on your crockpot adventures. Thanks for offering the great prize!
Oh would I love to win. I am a farm girl that could definitely use them in not only creating a cards, but also on my scrapbook page layouts.
your pages are fantastic! I love Farm Girl. My daughter is really getting into me teaching cooking and baking, so I would definitely use the Farm Girl like to create something about her learning in the kitchen.
I love what you have done with this collection, I too use my Crockpot quite a bit especially during these colder months. I would love to put together a crockpot receipe book for my sons with this collection. I think they would love it. Thank you for sharing.
I love the Crockin Girls Cookbook. You will have to do a post on the meals you have made so far.
PL spread is beautiful as always.
Crockpot cooking is the way to go!! I just made a monster pot of beef stew this past weekend! Between getting to smell it for hours, and, just how easy it is to do, it's awesome!
I love your project life page, I laughed because I know how proud I am when I get home from the grocery store after making a meal plan an coupons and everything! Glad someone else shares this feminine pride! Thanks for hte opportunity to win!
I always love your Project Life pages! They provide me with such inspiration! I absolutely love crock pot cooking! I will admit though that I am not much of a chef. I am very fortunate to have a husband that LOVES to cook, so he does most of the cooking in the house. He makes these mouth-watering meatballs in the Crock Pot! Love them! My mother-in-law mentioned at Thanksgiving lunch that she would like to start documenting her family recipes in a cookbook. (She'll also be teaching me these recipes!) I would love to use the Farm Girl collection to make this recipe book/box to document such delicious recipes!
LOVE THESE!!! You are an expert at getting a lot of information/photos on your page without being cluttered or overwhelming.
Love these pages and the way you used farm girl. Thanks for the chance to win.
Love how you have included the actual recipes.
It's such pretty paper and I like how it ties all your PL pages together.
I am a complete failure at using the crock pot but I do enjoy scrapping all sorts of love pages and cards. I usually get the collection sets. Sooo pretty!
Thanks for sharing your work. :)
I would use the collection for farm trips (pumpkin patch, apple picking, train rides) and I also do use the crockpot! I love overnight oatmeal in it, salsa chicken (for tacos), and I did a fun pork roast with apple slices and honey (from Pinterest) that was good (but could've been marinating longer I think).
Thanks for he giveaway!!!
great recipe and idea!
Love your PL and recipe card. I LOVE my crockpot and really need to start cooking meals ahead of time like you did.
Love that stamp set and the way you used Farm Girl in your Project Life album. You are always such an inspiration!
I love how you used the collection for something other than the traditional layout! I love Crock Pot meals (have a pot roast in the Pot as I type!)
Thanks for sharing! I'm always curious about how people approach these projects like December Dailies and Project Life albums. Your ideas are great!
I love your crock pot life piece. And you gave me inspiration!!!! (I <3 it when that happens) I use my crock pot too. Mostly for soups and chilli. Thanks for sharing a part of your life. And giving me a chance to win! You rock!

I also love using my crock-pot. I use it to cook with about 3 times a week. So easy to do, especially when it can be hard to cook with toddlers around. :)
Yes, I'm a crock pot user---I love the throw everything in it in the am and when i get home from work---suppers ready.
i could use this collection just for my 'daily life' layouts and projects---since i grew in the country and still live in the country---it's perfect for me>

Look into my page skin whitening
I occasionally use our crock pot...I need to use it more! I recently got the Farm Girl collection pack and can't wait to bust it open and create some cards and tags.
Oh my WOW, I'm not sure what my WOW is more about? Your amazing PL layouts or the fact of cooking 12 meals, haha!
I am really loving this release, not sure if it's the cute red headed girl being that I myself am one as is my eldest daughter or that it has that country feel. I am planning to get some and use it to show photos from the past of myself and my daughter and how alike we look etc. I can't wait!
Thank you so much for a chance to win, kelliewinnell@gmail.com
I just adore this recipe card, gives me lots and lots of ideas!!!! I envy your 365!!! I need to get off my butt and do mine!
Love my crockpot and OA farm girl!! Would like to use this collection to do a recipe mini!!
Farm Girl would be suitable for just about anything:cards, scrapbook layouts and more. I used my crockpot constantly when my children were younger, then ditched it when I bought a stove with a slow cooker function. But I really missed it because it was so simple to take to any event and keep food warm,so I have it on my Christmas list for this year.

I love what you do with OA paper lines. This day's creation is fantastic. I love the paper with this line. Can't wait to get my hands on this. My crock pot hasn't been used in a bit...need to get it dusted off and get some stew or soup going. Thank you for the gentle reminder.
I love my crockpot in the winter months, but now it's a hot, hot summer in Australia so it gets shoved to the back of the cupboard. Can't wait for your crockpot post Mish. I love trying new recipes!
Jo Reynolds (Australia)
Love the collection. I can visualize using it for everything from family get togethers to camping trips...love your style! And yes, I am a crock pot user...just hosted a gathering and made a big crock pot of chicken chili.
Wonderful work...love all the details on your project!!!
Such a neat idea to include recipes in PL. I am a crockpot user. I really need to use it more often, though. As for what I would create with Farm Girl, I think I would challenge myself to make layouts for my newborn son. Seems like it would be a fun challenge! Email brennatay at yahoo dot com

Great project life spread! We use the crockpot! Would love this collection to scrap photos from my son's field trips to the farm!
The FROM THE KITCHEN OF sticker is really cute. I like how you used it on a recipe. I'd like to use that on foody gifts.
This collection worked very well for your Project Life project. I am a Farm Girl at heart and could use this collection for many of my paper crafting projects. I am a crock pot user. I have used it twice this week so far. Once for spaghetti sauce and today for a whole chicken.

Well, I'm not a crockpot user...though I desperately want to be!
As for what I'd create...I'm not sure! I'm always making something so it would be put to good use!
I love how you incorporated these papers and tags into your PL. The paper on the crock pot insert reminds me of some flooring my parents had in the 70's, lol.
Wow what a great Project Life.. Way to go!!!!
I love what you did with your PL pages. Such fun! And the recipe card. Thank you for the chance to win a set of stamps.
I love to use my crock pot. It is so nice to come home to the wonderful smell! Pop some rolls in the oven and make a salad and dinner is served! Thanks for the stamp give away. I'm sure I could use these great stamps in my PL after seeing your great examples!
So impressive!!! What you've done with Farm Girl and your crockpot skills!!! A super crockpot is on my Christmas list because I'm not really (ok, not at all) a chef, and based on recipes I've seen I think I could manage at least the beginner crock pot meals! Oh, and I would love to make layouts and cards with Farm Girl!
Love the recipe card! Fantastic idea for Project Life. Thanks for the chance.
Love your handwritten recipes. He special for your family
I don't have crock pot, but my friend has and she uses it all the time.

The recipe cards (& your whole layouts) are SO cute! :) I only use a crock-pot for the occasional recipe. We do have a few favorites :)
Thanks for the giveaway! :D
I love your Project Life use of the Farm Girl collection. And I love your recipe cards. I was going to use this collection for some old farm pictures but now you got me thinking about using it for an album of old family recipes. We do crock pot recipes at least 2 to 3 times per month. Sure does make coming home late to dinner all made nice.
Every winter my crock pot is a constant companion in the winter. I use it minimum once a week. Have found a bunch of good recipes of Pinterest and there are some great magazines out there.
The Farm Girl Collection screams Michelle Wooderson!! Adorable! My crock pot does not get used like it should, mainly for stew....mmmmm.
Great week! We have that same Crock Pot I believe. :)

Semptember? Is that an extra bonus month added to the other twelve? I could a bonus month to get everything done! The Farm Girl collection is fab!
