Oh, come to mama. Look what I found on the news stand at Walmart. Country Home is back in publication. Be still my heart. Look at the lovely colors on the magazine cover. I was so tickled to see these colors. I had just gotten all my PTI projects done for the month and then saw this magazine. It's using the same colors.
Lately I have been inspired by the shabby colors of Aqua Mist, Chartreuse, Melon Berry and the new Harvest Gold (Papertrey Colors). The peachy pink/salmon color is going to be hot so you better shop your stash! I pulled color combos from these colors for almost all of my Papertrey projects this month. You can see them in the Papertrey gallery and I'll be posting those projects here too over the course of the month.
I purchased some spray paint in a few of these yummy colors. Stay tuned for some new Etsy shop items using these colors soon. :)
For today though, I have a fun collage card to show you. I saw a similar card layout featuring a giant shipping tag on the Crate Paper website. I had to dig out a Large Manila Parcel Tag and try out my own version. This week, I want to show you a few ways that you can use your Copic Sketch markers in applications other than just coloring a stamped image. Today I took three colors and a made a whimsical plaid design on my parcel tag. I used both ends of the marker colors, not worrying if my lines were straight or not. This plaid tag became the base for a collage of embellishments. Check out the top of my card. I used a scrap of negative die cut felt with a Vintage Button in the center for a quirky embellishment. Felt is another hot item. Did you see Pine's post for today? Go ahead....buy the felt. You know you want to.
For the rest of my tag, I added Vintage Buttons tied with Chocolate Baker's Twine. I was SOO, so0 happy when Nichole took me up on the idea of adding twine to the Papertrey shop. It's another hot item. Love. Thanks Nichole!!
For the sentiment on the card front, I used the *hey there* sentiment from Pine's new Fillable Frames #6 stamp set, introduced this month. Love. These little sets are just gems that you need to add to your collections along with the dies. Go ahead and put 'em on your list. Another of Mishie's faves.
By the way, did you see my new avatar? I thought you might like to be able to recognize me if you are at CHA. :)
The background piece underneath the tag is fun too. I used the Sunshine Impression Plate on Rustic Cream cardstock. Love the circles. Heck, go ahead and add that to your list too.
The rest of my card is filled up with all kinds of Papertrey goodies....like the Polka Dot stamped background, and Green Tea Leaves patterned paper. There's some Wrinkle Ribbon from my Etsy shop and a homemade doodad that was cluttering up my stamp table too. Hope you enjoy!

I was up with Eric this morning at 5:30. Decided to get up and get the day going before we totally melt away this afternoon. I'm headed off to dump some goodies into my new compost bin. Wait til you see it, you will love the story. I know, I know. Only I could be interested in piles of leftovers. It's a good thing. I'll save that story for another day.

Country Home should hire you as a consultant since you are a trendsetter, Mish. Love your new photo; noticed it immediately. Oh, and the card's not too shabby either. ;-)
Oh the homestyle goodness! Love that card and all of the treasures on it! Don't worry about trying to convince me to put all those goodies on my list...cause they are already there! Love the new pic! I will be looking forward to meeting you soon!! EEEEK!

Love the colors you are working with and your new avatar picture is beautiful. I'm working on scrapbooking my family's trip to Disneyworld last summer which began with CHA--and you are in it. I wish we could go to Chicago this year too. Have fun.
Such great colors and so many fabulous goodies on this card.
Curious about what you will do with the spray paint. Have a good weekend.
Oh Mish I love your new picture. You look fablous. The colors on front of Country Home are all my colors. I have loved these colors for years and green is my fab which I have to say looks good on me too.
Love your card as always...
Great new picture of you.
Great cards.
Eveline.
Love the new photo of you - I'll be sure to spot ya at CHA and say hello (although you won't know me, but that's ok!) Pop over to my blog and there's a photo of me, one of your admirers there :)
Love the card. Love the mag. Love your new avatar.
Love the new photo!
Love your new hair! It makes you look much younger. I got a new cut and highlights yesterday but my family did not even notice. Poo! What colors copics did you use on that tag. LOVE THAT PLAID!
Love the knew profile photo. Great colors.

Loving the plaid. I agree with Nancy - you should be a consultant for Country Home. Heck, you should be "Executive Editor Chief in Charge of All Things Cute and Fabulous". Sure, they may have to create that position, but it would be in their best interest. Lookin' pretty glamalicious in the new pic. Can't wait to see you and the rest of the PTI crew. Right about this time in two weeks the Rosemont paramedics should be rolling up to the convention center to cart me off after my encounter with the PTI booth. HA!
love your card! those colors are so yummy!!
Your card is super cute and I think you look so pretty in your new picture. Your hair is so nice.
First, love your new picture. Second, oh how I missed Country Home. I'll be out tomorrow even if I have to brave Walmart on a rainy Saturday. Third, a plaid tag! Perfect! Especially with all the embellies you've added.
You look gorgeous in the new picture!! Wish i could be at CHA. Sigh!
Love all that you have been creating with your "MISHMASH' of colors and elements!!!
I'm going to have to go looking for the magazine! Love your new photo on your blog :) Very pretty! Mish-I am a composter also! I have a plastic gallon milk jug (cut out on top, handle still intact) that sits on my kitchen counter that I fill with all of my scraps. My kids roll their eyes at me when I tell them "put it in my compost jug!"
I saw this and thought of you and your Cans!!

I did some 'Can" gifts a few years ago for Christmas and they were a big hit. Now that i saw your adventures with Cans I am inspired to do another "Can" Christmas!
Your hair looks gorgeous in your new pic.
These are adorable, as always...but I just wanted to tell you how beautiful your new photo is. :)
Love the new photo and the card!
Have a great weekend.
Gorgeous new picture! And I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve with that spray paint!
Hiya Mish,
Love yur new photo and love the hair! Like you, this week I rediscovered an old favourite magazine too and am in 7th Heaven. Simple things give such pleasure don't they?
Yes, I noticed your new photo right away, beautiful!! I am coming to CHA so hope to meet you!! Can't wait!
I LOVE the new avatar Mish, your hair looks GORGEOUS!!! Love the country collagy cards you're making; the colors are just fab; thanks for sharing!
Love your new pic!
Compost bins can be fun--as fun as decaying plant matter can be! I always get a surprise the next year after spreading mine in flowerpots and around the newly transplanted tomato and peppers. I have volunteer tomatoes and melons coming up in the strangest places! But I just leave them there and harvest their "free" produce.
Wow!
Lovely....
Yes Mish, I did notice your new photo. Very pretty!Have you lost weight? Love your shabby-vintage cards & yoour passion for goodies from the antique stores. You give me lots of inspiration. Thanks
What a goregous pic! :) Love your blog - thanks for sharing.
I am going to have to look for that magazine! I loved Country Home before.
