I was inspired to create a card using Nichole's beautifully illustrated Year of Flowers: Daffodils stamp set. I stamped the smaller flowers with Palette Burnt Umber ink. Next up, I got out some of my shimmering pearls and pearl ex paints from my stash. Using an aqua painter brush filled with water, I colored the flowers easily using a few shades or yellows and oranges. It's very hard to see from photos but the end result is very shimmer and luminous. I finished off the flowers with some Vintage Glass Glitter. You can find lots of colors from Star Lit Studio.
Here's my finished card along side my pretty jar of daffodils. I used papers from The Girls' Paperie patterned paper for my card base. The ribbon is Lemon Tart Luxe Satin that I colored with a few Copic markers.
A little closeup of the shimmery flowers and the colored ribbon.....
And for the inside of my card, I stamped the word *daffodils* and gave it a color wash of my shimmering paints.
Hope you're enjoying this Easter weekend. The girls have friends over and they're having fun together. They've colored eggs and hidden them already....I hear Eric mowing the yard for the first time this year.....Jordan's having a hissy fit because she can't find her Ipod case....and I'm sipping on a Diet Dr. Pepper from Sonic that the gang brought me on the way home from Jordan's guitar lessons. I also have my Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints out and am creating a beautiful mess in the art studio for a very colorful kit coming soon. I love it when I say art studio, don't you? Well, I think I'll walk up and get the mail and maybe just keep on walking over to my mom's house to see how she's doing. Tonight there's a fish fry at the community building so no need to worry about supper. Have a blessed day everyone.

Such pretty Daffodils!
The card is amazing. Love that glass glitter...it makes them come alive. I need to try the Copics on the ribbon. It looks amazing. :)
Happy Easter

I love the community fish fry--what a great tradition. Just as "old-fashioned" as planting daffodils.
i wish we had a yard that i can grow our own daffodils!!! your card and flowers are so beautiful! love that unique colored ribbon, too!
Beautiful Mish! Love your daffodils, and I'm sure your Mom was thrilled with them, too. Hope she's doing well. Your cards are just lovely! Happy Easter!

Aaahhhh to be able to plant/grow your own daffodils. One of my favorite spring flowers and I buy mine from the grocery store. *grin*

Beautiful card. Isn't Spring just the best feeling ever? When those flowers start popping up it just gives me a big ole case of the happies. Best to you and your sweet family for a lovely Easter. I'm having 12 for dinner tomorrow so I best get back to my slicing and dicing. Cheers!
