Jordan watches what I do very closely. After seeing me have such fun with my new Papertrey dies, she wanted in on the action.
After scouring the trash for some good finds.....in this case an empty pickle jar, she decided to paint and decorate some jars for her art markers, etc.
She made her very own versions of flower doodads to attach to her painted jar.
I think these pink and green versions are super duper cute, don't you? She used the Beautiful Blooms II stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Blooms II Die Collection. Then she needed flower stems so I showed her how to make ric rac stems out of felt using Papertrey's Rickrack Border Die.
She had so much fun, she needed more containers to embellish. All of sudden, she had an urge for canned fruit. So we opened two cans of peaches so that she could use the cans for me art pencils and markers. Give the girl some crafty stuff and she's all set!!! I highly encourage you to let your kids dig into your supplies. It's great fun for them and it makes you feel good to see them be creative.Afterwards, we had our first Cranberry Limeade Cooler. Yummo!! You can find the recipe by scrolling down in my recipe section...just click the label at the end of the post.
And another good use for jars? I've been using them to store food items instead of Tupperware, etc. I love my little jars for everything, they're just so cute.
This little pint jar is full of limes that we keep on hand for our refreshing drinks.
Have a great day everyone!! We got a big rain storm and 1" hail this morning.

Hi,
Jordan's jars are adorable. She has real talent. I hope that your Easter was fantastic. The postcards from your Dad were beautiful. Thanks again for sharing with us. You have a way of brightening my day. Looking forward to seeing more of Jordan's art work. Have a great day.
You're right, it does make me feel good to see my girls being creative! I love to share my craft room with them - and they're only 6 and 4! :) I can only imagine how much MORE fun they're going to be next to me in my craft room in the next 10 years :). *sigh* Not that I want them to grow up or anything!! :) Thank you for your blog - I check it everytime I'm in mine. You are AMAZINGLY talented and creative!
Those jars are so cute!! The lemonade is looking really refreshing too! I think I am going to have to go to your recipe section and look that one up!! It's warm today too!
This is just so sweet to see Jordan so inspired by what you create! I love to see that! You can really form a real bond with her! She reminds me of myself with my grandma! I loved to learn how to knit and crochet and make quilts all because of her. I really think with all the electronics out there, there is a lost art for this generation! keep it up Jordan...soon she will have a Jordan's Mish Mash of Stuff blog~! Mish I have that wonderful recipe from you from last summer! It is now our families summer drink! Thank-you for sharing all your recipes and your talents with us!
Jordan's jars are so sweet, she obviously has gotten some of your talent! Loved seeing her creations!
Jordan did a beautiful job on her jar and cans! Our daughter decorated a jar this past week while on spring break too. Jordan may want to try this too. Savannah glued torn pieces of white tissue paper all over the jar to cover it first and then added things all over to decorate. The tissue paper is really a great base too for painting a jar or even use various colors of tissue paper. We just watered down some Elmer's glue and she used a small paint brush to cover the jar with glue and then go back over each piece of tissue as she put it on. I hope Jordan continues her craftiness. It's so nice to see young people enjoying what we love ourselves. Thanks for sharing!!!
Mish Mash -
I know I have been heads down, but have you stopped having your blog go out with FeedBlitz? How do we receive it right to our email?
Sure am missing it.
Go, Jordan, you crafty little munchkin! Pssst, Jordan -- do you think you can sneak me into your Mom's craft room when she's not looking? Our little secret, of course!
Jordan's jars are darling!!!! Now I feel like I need to fish through my recycling! :0p She did such a great job! I do offer my kidlets some use, but they don't often gt into it. :0(
Jordan just takes right after you doesn't she? Great projects that she made.
I am a jar lover too, I use them as much as possible to store my crafting supplies, I have all kinds, but especially love the old canning jars, they make me smile!
Super cute jars!
Awesome job Jordan! I love the recycled items.

Jordan is so creative and talented just like you!
You're absolutely right, let the kids in on the fun. My daughter has always loved being in my crafting room with me to do painting, scrapbooking and stamping.
A word of warning, there may be a time when they will TAKE OVER!!
My daughter, Michelle, is 17 and her stamp collection is close to rivaling mine. Oh well, she'll just have to share with me now!
Jordan's jars warm my heart! So fun to play with mom! I just wanted to tell you how your blog blesses me every day! You are so upbeat and UBER talented! Thank you!!
What a great job she did! Jordan's jars are adorable. I love them!
I too love jars...in the kitchen as well as my craft room! They are just SO useful, and there's nothing else you can put hot liquid in that won't blow the lid off!!!
Thanks for sharing her awesome creations! :D
LOVE the colorfully decorated jars, wow, love these!
I looked for the recepie for the lemonade, but couldn't find it. Saw mention of it, but no directions. Would love to find it to make some, it looks yummy!
I also tried to find the Cranberry Limeade recipe and couldn't find it. I see the photo under the corn salad but no recipe
Good for Jordan--an athlete and a crafter! (and a recycler, too!) Here in Topeka, we only saw pea-sized hail...which was plenty. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter.
Tell Jordan great creative jars! I am hoping we have spring weather in the next few days! Especially after having another 4 inches of snow last week! I am beginning to dislike the weather! Thanks for the recipe!
the jars are so cute - go job Jordan! i made the "pink drnk" last week!! first of the year for me..it's just soooo good and refreshing - and i love the idea of the limes in the jar!
Jordan's recyled jar is too cute!! I love the colors and the felt stems it looks like something you might find in a boutique store. Thanks so much for sharing jordan. Ann Lind
Hello! I love folllowing...ok stocking your blog! You had mentioned that you will be having some brown paper bag pouches...can you give us a sneak peak? Thanks!
Jordan's jars are so creative and adorable! She could probably sell them, too! How about some cards from her, too? She could use the same pattern on cards. Always enjoy your blog with all that you share with us about your family, cards, and inspiration! Enjoy your week!

@Jordan.....keep it up young lady. LOving your creativity. I'm gonna have my kids do the jar activity this summer. Thanks. Priya
This is so adorable and it is exactly what happens in my studio or kitchen or basement or wherever! My two girls always love to get crafty!...and funny thing is my daughters "Jordyn" and "Jaidyn" just made pencil cans last week from recycled tins, I was making Pasta Fagioli Soup and they were working on a badge for Brownies!
Jordan's jars are cute. She is taking after you-sooo much talent.
Missing your posts-
You've spoiled us with frequent posts, so I'm hoping that everything is okay with your family, your mom in particular. From your tweet, it appears Eric and the Reds are fine. Maybe you're just prepping for the PTI release. You are missed. We worry.
Michelle...I am worried about you! I don't think that you have ever gone this long without a post or update. I hope everything is ok!! I miss your blog. It is my daily inspiration!!
I adore the materials you used for the containers. I hope my cardmaking kit will include those cute flowers.
I love Jordan's Jars. She did a fantastic job. It is great to see your daughter enjoying crafting.
