To create my paper pieced apron, I stamped the apron image onto three pieces of October Afternoon patterned paper. I cut the pocket from one design, the trims from a second and the main apron piece from a third piece of patterned paper. I also used a grey Copic marker, I think a W2 or W3 to add some shading. Then I stamped the main image again onto white cardstock. I colored in a few trim pieces with a green Copic marker. Then I simply pieced the color portions onto the white apron with adhesive. So fun!! Jordan would love this cuz she's really into paper dolls right now. Here's my finished card. I used a base card of PTI Kraft with two pieces of Ocotober Afternoon. I stitched around the main image with my sewing machine and added a Lockhart birthday sentiment.
I needed a few embellishements so I punched some squares of scrap patterned paper and added some buttons on top.
A perfect little card for my birthday stash. Do you have ideas for fun sentiments that would go with aprons? I have a fun idea that I'll have to save for another day but I'd love to hear what you think. Thanks for stopping by!

When I saw that stamp on line last week the first thing I thought of was it wouldn't be long til you had something cute to do with it. Right again! Love Caryl's "kiss the cook" idea. That's adorable. I'll have to put the ole thinking cap on, but I doubt I could top that one.
Great card - love the PP you chose for the apron. How about using it for a baby shower card and with the sentiment "bun in the oven"?? :)
I saw this stamp last week on Ellen's site and fell in love with it. Now, I have to order it for sure.
How about --
What's cookin'?
Hot Stuff.
From the kitchen of ______.
Lovin' from the Oven.
OK, I guess those are pretty corny.
This card is amazing! I love the idea of paper piecing stamps! I am going to have to try it.
What a pretty card. I knew you would be showing something with that apron when I saw it in Ellen's store. Just reminded me of you. Love the little squares - going to use that on a card. So cute! Love all the ideas ladies. Have a great day.
Oh my goodness..I love that new stamp! I will definetly have to get that one. You have done it again...your card is adorable! I love it. I will have to think about the sentiment though!!!
Thanks for sharing,

Love your card especially with the piecing . I'm an apron lover and I have one of my grandmother's favorites.
I love paper piecing. That turned out very cute!
So cute. Love the apron paper pieced and the colors are great. What a great idea to cut out squares and attached buttons, I will have to remember that one. Have a beautiful Monday.
beautiful card! i haven't tried paper piecing yet, waiting for my scrap area to be organized and not have piles everywhere. this is very inspirational.
Too cute for words! I love aprons, I love to paper piece and I love to make full size aprons...this just has to become my newest wearable apron. Now off to the store to see how close I can come to the papers...but in fabric. Thanks so much for sharing all your wonderful ideas. You are a daily inspiration to me. Nancy
What a sweet card, love it! That paper is perfect for a vintage apron.
Absolutely wonderful and gorgeous!
Mish - your work is just wonderful! I always know I'm going to be in for a real treat when I visit your blog. I adore this PTI set and particularly what you've done with it here. This is just lovely.
Love your take on the apron. It's gorgeous!! Because the patterns look so perfect on the apron, I'm guessing that you "fussy cut" it???
Very cute! I would love to have an apron that looks like that!
I really like the apron image, and especially your paper=pieced layout!
First thought for a sentiment, was what my dh says to me every year on my birthday:
It's your birthday! You don't' have to cook tonight honey, so take off your apron....
cuz we're goin' to McDonald's!!!
Mish, that is the cutest thing E-V-E-R!!!!! I just love what you did with that apron... I will have to try that technique someday, lovely!
And how about "Cook book party"!
Love the apron piecing Mish, makes a beautiful card!
Hey, Mish - great card! Just wanted to say, "Happy Birthday!" We have the same birthday - that's how I remember yours!

Terrific card! I bought this apron stamp from Ellen & I love it! It's fun to "style" it by removing the neck strap or the upper bodice or the gathered sleeves & ruffle hem, etc. You can keep it retro looking or make it more modern. Thanks for your inspiration!
Your card is so adorable! Love what you did!
Michelle!
Happy, Happy Birthday!

Love your card (as always)!! I just recently got this stamp, and paper piecing is definitely the way to go. As for sentiments, I've just been sticking to the tried and true - birthday, thank you, etc. I know, I'm so boring! Thanks for the inspiration Mish, and Happy Birthday!
