A little present

Do you ever have those moments where you wish you had a little gift tucked away for that someone special? You just find out it's their birthday and you have no little gifts on hand? This year, one of my goals is to get some small presents and gift wrapping done in advance. Whether it be a school secretary, a teacher or one of the girls' friends, I just want to have a few gift items on hand and ready to give out. After Christmas, I hit the Bath and Body sales. I scored lots of great lip glosses for 50-75% off. My girls and their friends LOVE lip glosses, you can never have too many. So I decided to take a few tubes and package them up to have on hand. I chose to use some simple glassine bags and Aqua Mist Swiss Dot ribbon from Papertrey Ink. All that was needed were a few simple tags to complete some cute....and inexpensive... little gift sacks.
I used the Designers Center & Borders set from Just Rite Stampers to create the happy birthday sentiment that is on a PTI Kraft card stock circle. The flower outline was stamped on PTI Vintage Cream card stock with Aqua Mist ink.
I added an aqua colored sequin to each tag and then adhered the embellishment to the sack front using pop dots. I used some October Afternoon patterned paper and my Spellbinders Label 1 Die Template to create a patterned background label that was adhered directly to the glassine bag. Pretty ribbon and some twine tie up the sack. A single lip gloss slips right in the sack which folds to the back. Easy peasy!

Note: Just Rite is having a sneak peek of a new product being introduced at Winter CHA. Check out their blog link HERE to go take a look.

Oh so cute and great gift ideas. Love how you packaged them up. I'm with you with having some gifts on hand. I decided to do some extra card sets and have ready if I need them unexpectantly. Love this idea also and was just thinking that the mini sizes of bath and lotion would be good to have on hand. Love the lip gloss idea. TFS :)

Cute - and smart, thanks Michelle! I have seen clearance lip glosses around - the only thing I wonder is how long they will last? If I buy them now when do they go bad...? Don't want to give one in August and have it be all crusty or something - LOL

I love this idea! I have lots of lip balms that I "collect" from Avon (they are so cute with all their seasonal designs). I can do a fun little thing like this with them!

What a lovely idea. I never thought of that. Genius! Its also easy to make, and saves you from a big headache if you'll search for gifts in shops. There’s a lot more cute stuff to put in the glassine bags and make them little gift sacks. You can put little aromatic soups, nail polishes or every cute little thing you can think of, even chocolates. Thank you very much, Mish. Keep bring us good creative ideas. I’ll try to make myself one gift sack for testing. See how it goes.
