Project Life....let's eat

Sharing another week of my Project Life today.  This week pretty much involves food photos and I used the August Gossamer Blue kits for my supplies.
We love it when garden season comes around because it's all about canning jams and veggies that we grew.  I used the "currently reading" card to list books that I've been reading and also websites that I've been following for art journaling, etc. I used my black pen to draw lines around a lot of the journaling cards just to give them a border.  I love lots of cards that provide ample writing space. I also don't mind using my fine tip Sharpie to journaling directly onto photos.
More food photos, iced coffees because when it's 101 degrees with 110 degree heat index, hot coffee is too much.  Also love the little mason jar night light my mom gave me as a souvenir from a recent trip.
Josey carried a melon.  Always love to quote that from Dirty Dancing.  Love this simple "EAT" card.  I stapled the July accent to it.
Journaling card with a flower die cut and enamel stickers.
Thanks for stopping by.  Right about now we're just returning from cooling off in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.

Project Life....July 13-26

This week's Project Life spread was created using the August Gossamer Blue kit.
We spent a lot of time getting ready for Jordan's Senior Photo shoot.  I love gathering up props and helping the girls pick out outfits for photos.  Jordan's photo shoot was so unique and just her style.
I'm going to start including photos of my watercolor sketches in my albums so that I can incorporate some of my art.  Zinnias from the garden, hay season and a cruise with the ladies. I'm embracing my handwriting so I love 3 x 4 cards with lots of white space for journaling.
Loved the VW bus chipboard sticker, perfect for Jordan's photo shoot pages.  I must admit that I designed this "wild child" stamp with my girls mind.  Jordan loves that song by Kenny Chesney. The Tom Petty quote made it on a stamp in last month's kits.
These page flips are included in a kit this month.  I used them a lot to add additional photos and journaling.
Thanks for stopping by!

July Gossamer Blue.....vacation journaling cards

Hey everyone! The Gossamer Blue July Kits are now up in the shop.  This month presented us with some amazing kits and all new projects from our brand new Design Team.  Our own Peppermint Granberg took over illustrating my stamp concepts and she knocked it out of the ballpark.  There were so many great comments on the stamps this month, thank you!

Today I'm sharing some journaling cards I created to have on hand to scrapbook my daughter's recent trip to Chicago.  I love all the travel themed products in the kits this month so they came in very handy. I reached for the Life Pages Add-on #3 (now sold out, it was a good one) mostly.  I love to just rip open a kit and sort out all the pieces and parts.
I grouped together like items like the glittery pieces, tags and arrows.
My daughter rode on a train, a car, a Segway and an airplane for this trip.  I definitely will want to use the airplane, suitcase and location icons. Plus all those tickets will make great accent pieces.
I reached for most of the journaling cards, designed by Peppermint, and added simple embellishments to each card.  I'll use these as filler cards to go along with photos and plain cards that I will journal on.
I collaged together several elements and then added machine stitching or stapling. I like to stitch over chipboard alphabets just in case they want to fall off in 50 years.
Here's some close ups of the collaged accents.  So many fun little tidbits.  That vellum ticket?  Eeek.
I stacked all my finished cards and the left over travel accents into a little tray so everything will be ready when I get around to scrapbooking the trip.  I also added in some of the awesome plain journaling cards from the shop.  There are lines, graphs, notebook designs and more.  I can't get enough of these in my stash.  I'll also be adding stamped images from the stamp set in the Life Pages Kit.  That little camper turned out soooo dang cute.  I just swoon over anything Peppermint does, right?
Okay guys, there's still kits left in the shop this month so be sure to check out the store.  Don't forget to grab a cup of coffee and stroll through the gallery too.  So much talent there!

Project Life..... Week 7, 2015

Today I'm sharing Week 7 of my 2015 Project Life.  I used One Little Bird journaling cards that I downloaded and printed here at home.  I love Peppermint's designs so much. Clean and simple and so easy to use.  Here's the two page spread.
The left page. Simple photos and a few embellished journaling cards.
The right page.  I added more photos and journaling cards with hand written journaling.
For the main, dated 4 x 6 insert, I added chipboard letters to a tag.
I love how the One Little Bird kits coordinate so well and are designed so simply.  That leaves lots of room for embellishments and journaling.  Or I can leave the inserts unadorned if I want a cleaner look.
Slow but sure.....more pages to fill my album.

Project Life 2015....Week 11

Today I'm sharing Week 11 from my Project Life 2015 album.  Products are from the April Gossamer Blue kits.
The right page including my watercolor sketch from a day at the pond fishing and shopping for Prom dresses in the city.
The left page.
The dated, 4 x 6 insert including the days of the week stamps from the Gossamer Blue April Life Pages Kit.
More stamps including the numbers in circles, perfect for making lists or numbering your journaling lines.
Lots of flower seeds, hoping to grow lots of Zinnias.  I can tell you, it ain't looking pretty for the Zinnias right now.  We'll see if I can salvage any of them to plant.
Hand journaling with die cut, stickers and wood veneer.
Another one for the books.  Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life 2015.....Week 4

Today I'm sharing Week 4 of my 2015 Project Life.  Here's the two page spread.
The left side. Lots of One Little Bird and Gossamer Blue products this week.
The right side.
For the main, dated 4 x 6 insert I used a One Little Bird digital printable with word overlays.
Love the circle card with the Gossamer Blue wood veneer piece on top.  I created a little messy nest of thread and adhered that below the wood piece.
Journaling under the date stamp.  An easy way to get more than one day's worth of journaling onto one journaling card.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Project Life 2014.....Week 43 with Fall insert

Sharing Week 42 of my Project Life 2014 today.  Here's the two page spread.
I'm using February Gossamer Blue kits for my layout today. Lots of random photos from the week.
Keeping it simple.  Photos + journaling + minimal embellishments.
Loved the stickers from the February kits.  An easy way to add simple embellishments to journaling cards.
An insert this week too.  There's about a one week time spam when the leaves on our autumn blaze maple are just stunning.
Another week in the books.  :)

Project Life 2014....Week 42

I'm sharing Week 42 of my 2014 Project Life today.
On the left side I used a different than my usual size page protector.  This one has four 6 x 6 slots.  I used this entire side for our 20th anniversary. We agreed to no gifts but I ended up being surprised with a pair of new diamond earrings.  I tucked the note from Eric and the wrapping paper in one slot.
This is the right page which holds random photos and stories from the week.  I used February Gossamer Blue kits for my papers and embellishments. A few Halloween treats, a photo of Josey while touring the nursing department at the college visit, Jordan and some friends gettin' fringy at a school dance, tailgating at the volleyball tournament on a gorgeous Saturday and a nice record of the Spring bulbs I planted.  I actually went looking for this photo and date to see what I planted and how many.  Project Life is great for that kind of record keeping.
Stitched on chipboard letters and stickers for the anniversary page.
A journaling card with wood veneer hearts and a little sticker label for journaling.
A giant flair button looks perfect on a simple journaling card.
More great times with the family in the album.  It was a good week.

Project Life 2014....Week 41 (using October Afternoon paper for journaling cards)

I'm sharing Week 41 of my 2014 Project Life today.  This two page spread started out with the three 6 x 6 inserts which are collages of my Fall porch decor.  I wanted to keep the pages simple so I could plow through on my 2014 remaining weeks.  I ended up just placing a 6 x 6 square of patterned paper in the remaining slot on the right page.
On the right side, I didn't really have any journaling cards from my February Gossamer Blue kits that coordinated so I just made my own.  I used remaining scraps from the October Afternoon 12 x 12 sheet.  The two pages coordinate nicely and I didn't do much other embellishing.
Since the February kits weren't really Fall themed since I'm kind of working out of season, I was happy to find this paper from the kits and just roll with it.
I did end up using a 4 x 6 journaling card with a paper strip and wood veneer letters from other GB kits.
I loved the package of Simple Stories labels so much this month.  I used them on a 4 x 6 card as date markers then just hand wrote the rest of my journaling.
A few stickers here and there and I was done with this week.
I'm trucking along. Took a little break from working on pages so that I could have fun with some family stuff, organize the house a bit and enjoy the fantastic weather we had yesterday.  I'll be back to share more pages yet this week.  Have a great week everyone.
