Stay Crafty Gift Bag...Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop

Today some of the Gossamer Blue Design Team members are sharing some projects from the April Gallery.  I created a fun little gift bag for a crafty friend.  The gold glitter polka dot bag is from the April Bits & Pieces Kit.
The fun wood veneer embroidery hoops are from the April Main Add-on Kit.  I used die cut embellishments from various kits to add to my gift wrap.  I also used a few pieces from my 1970-Something Kit.  The gingham tag with the watercolored butterfly and gingham gold paperclip add a whimsical feel to my gift wrap.  I love adding items from my stash to Gossamer Blue Kits.  It's a good way to dig through your supplies and get them onto projects.

Papertrey October 2011 Release Projects..

Edit: The white spray mist that I used is from Studio Calico. The white is unfortunately being retired.....however October Afternoon makes a white version of their mists also. You could also dilute some acrylic craft paint (in the little bottles from Walmart or any craft store) with water and splatter on with an old toothbrush.

Edit: Yvonne asked what I usually give for gifts that I package in the Kraft boxes. Typically it's a homemade treat like a stack of cookies, homemade truffles...or sometimes just store bought candies like truffles. They make great little teacher treats, bus driver gifts, etc. :) If I think of anything else, I'll post here on the blog. Your suggestions are certainly welcome too.

Hi there, back today to show you some of my gallery projects from this month's Papertrey release. We spent a busy Saturday at both of the girls' volleyball tournaments then made a trip to the city for new basketball shoes, a trip to Michael's and out to eat for our anniversary. A great time with my little family.

Here we go for the projects. First up is cheery holiday card featuring Christmas Poinsettia. I created the variegated flowers by first stamping the flower in Sweet Blush and then tipping the edges with Pure Poppy ink. I then misted the flowers with Studio Calico white spray ink. The inspiration for my poinsettia was from this pin in my Pinterest boards. Patterned papers are the Candy Cane Prints and others from October Afternoon.
Love the dimension that you get from the layered dies.
Next up I have a small Kraft gift box that I embellished with Pine's Tag-its #9 stamp set. I stamped the tag, punched it with a 1-3/4" circle punch then popped it up on a Crate Paper chipboard piece.
For all of my holiday packaging this year, I'm using Kraft boxes, bags and wraps with bundles of sprigs, jingle bells, ribbons and more. Each piece will also be wrapped with sheet music, old book paper, newspaper, etc. I sprayed the boxes with more white mist to resemble snow flakes.
Here I have another series of embellished boxes that use the Shape Up Snowman Accessories stamp set.
Each little snowman face was layered onto a Kraft Tag Sale #5 die that has a layer of patterned paper. I used a 1-3/4" circle punch to create the snowman faces. Hats were paper pieced using the coordinating Shape-Up Series: Snowman Die Collection. My favorite part....the red and white twine that I used to make the ties for the stocking caps.
This was a fun release to get the holiday mood flowing. I'll be creating more tags and boxes to have on hand....they make the perfect little treat boxes for bus drivers, teachers and all of those unexpected little gifts you find yourself needing each year. :)

Yum-Dee-Dum....Treat Boxes

Looking for clever ways to package homemade treats this year. My Twinkles and Tinsel Box Kits offer up a fun way to offer up your best treats this year. Sometimes just a few little treats is you need to show someone you care. Today I've made some of my family's favorites...Peanut Butter Cup Cookies. Again, we enjoyed these at the basketball game the other night. The bus driver really appreciated a little goody! :)

With the kit, you'll get supplies to assemble 4 completed boxes. Bonus: For the remaining kits in the shop, I'm adding in 4 free sheets of tissue and 4 free Dainty Doilies so you can package your treats just like I'm doing today.

First up, assemble the boxes and tags as shown in the kit photos...or any way you'd like.
Prepare your treats and stack two cooled cookies in a cute cupcake liner. I found these holiday ones at Michael's in the Martha Stewart section.
Fold a sheet of tissue to fit the width of the box.
Nestle the treats into the box. Goodbye little morslets of chocolate and peanut buttery goodness. :)
Tuck the fold tissue paper neatly into the box.
Fold up the box. Fold over about 1" of a Dainty Doily. Lay on top of the box and wrap twine around the box. Tie on an embellished tag. Write the recipient's name on the label. Deliver to your favorite peeps!
Oh, such a cute way to hand out some little goodies. If homemade treats aren't your thing, you can add in chocolate truffles or fudge from the candy shop.....stacks of pre-wrapped candies, Hershey Kisses, etc. Enjoy!

If you'd like to purchase any of the items used in these kits separately, I used Dainty Doilies, Small Kraft Boxes with Tissue, Small White Boxes with Tissue, Small Holiday Tag Trio, and Cotton Twine.

Recipe for cookies: Take tube of peanut butter cookies (I used Pillsbury) and roll into 1" balls. Bake in mini muffin tins as package directs. Immediately push mini Reese's peanut butter cups into cookies when removed from the oven. Sprinkle with holiday sprinkles if you wish. Cool. Eat two or three or six and package up the rest for gifts. :)

Twinkles and Tinsel Packaging Kits

Flipping over to that November calendar page means that the holidays will soon be here. I'm kicking off my holiday happenings here on the blog and in my Etsy shop. I've got some new kits all wrapped up and ready to go.
My Twinkles and Tinsel Packaging Kits are the perfect way to jump start your holiday gift wrapping. With the kit, you'll get all the supplies needed to create two each of the pretty little packages below. Kits require some assembly and you will need pop dots to stick on the tag elements. For each tag, you'll get a label with an adhesive backing....simply write the recipient's name, peel and stick and you've got yourself some cute packaging. Assemble the tags ahead of time and you'll be all ready for gift wrapping once it gets closer to Christmas.
These kits are very unique to my Etsy shop and will be sold in limited quantities. If you miss out on a kit and would like to create your own gift boxes, many of the supplies can be purchased separately from my shop such as: Kraft Boxes with Tissue, White Boxes with Tissue, Green Parcel Tags, Red Parcel Tags, Twine and the Mini Clothespins.

Shop update: I've got a some more Jolly Jingle Bells in stock. :)

Please remember that any of my kits may be reproduced for personal use only....you know I love to share...... but may not be replicated and sold in Etsy shops, etc. :)

Back to School Gifts

Hey friends, it's the first day of school for my sweet reds. Wow, are they growing up right before my eyes!! New school, new bus route, new friends......I can't wait to hear their day went.
As always I do a few back to school gifts for teachers. I have some fun new products in my Etsy shop that I'll be using for some fun gift boxes. I'm slowly filling my Etsy shop with simple gift packaging products that I think you'll love. I know we're all super duper busy these days with our hustle and bustle life styles but those little gifts and goodies are still important to us, right? Keep it simple, keep it simple......I keep repeating that phrase to myself. And it works. I was able to create back to school gifts in a jiffy.

Let me show you what I made. I started out by creating some very simple tags. I used Medium Manila Parcel tags and stamped them with the lined paper image from School Time in yellow ink. I then punched Kraft colored circles and stamped them with another sentiment from SchoolTime.
Next up I grabbed some of my new Kraft Gift Boxes with Tissue. These are packaged in a set of five with five sheets of ivory tissue. A perfect little item to keep in your gift wrap stash. The boxes measure 3 x 3 x 2 and each tissue sheet measures 15 x 20. Simply fold the tissue to about 3" wide and line the box...then fill with goodies. I used various candies as every teacher could use a little chocolate on the first day of school. I also lined the inside of the lid with some school themed patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket. Very cute and simple.
Next, I tucked the lids in and tied my nifty little gift boxes up with my new Black Burlap Twine. The twine is very sturdy and rustic and adds such a nice look to the boxes.
I slipped the tags onto the twine before tying the final bow. I added a paper doily to the box of the girls' favorite teacher. So pretty, not too girly......sooooooo simple. I'm loving it!
Very nice presentation and it didn't take me all day.
In fact, I had some time left over so I made up a few additional gift boxes for the girls' volleyball coaches. You can see my folded up tissue paper...you can cut the tissue in half and still have plenty to line the box.
Just push the folded tissue into the bottom of the box and then fill with your goodies.
For these boxes, I used my White Parcel Tags and some images from All-Star Team. I added some Kraft Cardstock to these tags too, a very nice match. I think the coaches will love these treats.
I love to see the gift boxes all lined up. I think they'll be great for little Christmas presents, all stacked up on a vintage silver tray. I can't wait to show you more ideas with the Gift Boxes and Tissue! And stay tuned for a post where I show you how to create your very own Gift Wrap Station.
The Gift Boxes and Burlap Twine are up in my shop. Be sure to check out all the new goodies. Here's the White Gift Boxes with Tissue.....
And here's the Kraft Gift Boxes with Tissue...
And there's a bunch of Burlap Twine too.....

Thanks for stopping by today. Are your kiddos back in school? Did you make teacher gifts? I'd love to hear what you made.....and what you think of my new goodies. :)
