Coffee Notes

How about a little coffee break this Monday morning? I have to say that after having my DH(deer hunter/dear husband) home for five days I'm happy to have the house to myself this morning. I would drive him to his hunting spot, read his texts that he sent out of boredom, pick him up from his hunting spot......repeat, repeat, repeat. And still no deer, poor fella.

So now, I'm settling in with a nice cup of coffee and some stamping projects. Wouldn't you like to see this inviting basket when you show up at work or when you visit a friend? I put together this ensemble speedy quick thanks to some Just Rite stamps. I sewed these coffee themed fabric napkins (the blue material) this last summer and can't wait to have an actual visitor so I can use them for real. :) Along with the coffee ensemble, I thought it would be cute to tuck in a few coffee themed stamped goodies. I used Papertrey's lined recipe cards to make some super duper simple lists. Have you ever heard Paula Deen say *it's so easy it's almost stupid easy*? That is this project!
Using JustRite Stampers set called Just A Little Caffeine Borders and Centers, I stamped some fun sentiments onto patterned paper. I stamped the border sentiments right onto the lined notecards. I then punched out my center sentiments and adhered them to the inside of my circle sentiments. Notice how the circle on one card hangs off the edge...that just adds a little quirky-ness, I love it. A little office paperclip was added....because if you're like me, one list just doesn't cut it. I always seem to add another list, and another, and another.......
So if you've got some good friends at the office or maybe you're having a friend over for coffee....try out these little notecards. You could stamp oodles in a matter of minutes. Keep it stylish, keep it simple!!
If you like the fabric I used, it's from Studio E......at www.studioefabrics.com . The brown paper napkins were in my stash from some time ago.

Oh, and remember when I gave a clue that my next big Etsy kit has lots of brown? Well your guess of a chocolate theme were not correct. Any other guesses?

If it is not chocolate could it be gingerbread men or a gingerbread house. Perhaps it is a nice brown turkey. Love your coffee this morning!!!!

I'd say coffee themed, too :)

I like this stamp set, I just posted today my scrapbook recipe for coffee cake where i used them: http://zivljenje-je-lepo.blogspot.com/2009/11/coffee-coffee.html.

And I agree with Sandy, sometimes I have hard time stamping these images without smudges, too. This recipe was my firs project with JustRite stamps. Any tip would help.

I love your work. Thanks for sharing it all with us.

Not chocolate??? Hmmmm....Maybe some gingerbreadmen or coffee theme. Or what about Santa's cookies? Sorry, haven't had lunch yet so all I can think of that's brown is food related. I'll try to put on my thinking cap and come up with some non food related guesses.

I would guess the next brown would be coffee.
What a great greeting with your set for company. I am not a coffee drinker but it would work for tea also.

My guess would be cocoa! But, that might fit into the chocolate theme - hmmmmm?

As always, your post is just wonderful. Love that fabric & your cute notepads are really fun. By the way, you & your hubby are welcome for venison at our house. My DH was lucky this year. Of course, Reno is a long way for you to travel! Hugs.

If it's not chocolate, then that only leaves a coffeecocoagingerbread combination and we're all assuming that it will have a food theme.........which just might mean that you're going to surprise us all!!! can't wait to find out...

Very cute. I would love something like that if I showed up at someones house. I love the napkins you made. Is the big one under the cup and napkins a placemat or just like a centerpice for the display? I just started back sewing and have my nakins cut just not sewed yet. Cards keep calling my name. :)

I agree I bet it is coffee and chocolate themed can hardly wait to see it....

My guesses seemed to match what everyone has guessed. First was the obvious coffee theme and then my mind turned to deer (whether that be the kind that your dh was after or the "rein" type that pull Santa's sleigh).
My dh is a hunter too and we're heading up to my stamping partners house for 10 days on Thanksgiving. Her man is a hunter too and they'll spend their days hunting while we stamp...woohoo! Can't imagine anything more fun than that...unless it also included some of those fabulous napkins and gift ensembles that you always come up with!
