Scattered Showers

Woohoo, what a fun release this month for Papertrey! I'd love to hear if you stayed up late and what you ordered!!

Dawn McVey introduced a darling new set this month for Papertrey called Scattered Showers. There are many combinations of umbrella patterns and one of my favorites is the outline umbrella image so that I can paper piece my umbrella using patterned paper. Here, I've used some Making Memories Garden Party paper from last year's stash for the umbrella and the background paper. The images were layered onto Spellbinder's Rectangle and Scalloped Rectangle Dies. I stamped the sentiments and adered them to the image pieces with pop dots. For embellishments, I added some tied Vintage Buttons, some flower epoxy stickers from the MM Garden Party collection, patterned paper snippets and circles and some Papertrey ribbon. I just love to mixy matchy all those fun little elements. And how about the new colors of the Vintage Buttons? The Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist are two of my favorites so far. Card bases are Aqua Mist.
And here's a card that I added to my Papertrey Gallery. I tucked some duckies from Bitty Baby Blessings into the upside down umbrella. The ducks were colored with Copic markers. Image was layered with Rectangle and Scalloped Rectangle Dies. Patterned paper is from the Bitty Baby Blessings collection. Ribbon is Lemon Tart Swiss Dot with a white Vintage Button tied on.
Did you add Scattered Showers to your list this month? I know it's a set I'll use again and again for baby showers, get well cards, cheer up cards and more. Hope you enjoyed this month's release!

Ohhh I love that last baby shower card - is that Lemon Tart and....Sweet Hibiscus? Not sure the pink on that one...looks too light for one but too dark for the other. ANYWAY! - yes, I was up last night and at the release - yipppeeeeee!! I ordered Scattered Showers, the All Star set, and Life (from last month)....can't wait...and I'm pretty excited about all the new buttons - got them all too. Oh - and Green Tea Leaves paper...looks kinda matronly so I'm not sure about it...hope you or some of the girls use it in fun ways so I can get the mojo goin' on that one. Have a great day!

My next purchase will be some copics... I can't wait!

Ok... so just wanted to say, you're a genius b/c of the simplest things. Who would've thought to FLIP the umbrella? It's ADORABLE! This is why you're one of my favorites!!! TFS!

I love the little ducks in the umbrella, what a creative use of this set. I didn't order this set last night, opted for the tea set. Had to have the DP and buttons also. What is it about buttons that you can have tons and still want more? Justing looking at them can make a girl happy. As always, thanks for sharing your creativity.

I got Scattered Showers and Tea for two, plus Mother from last month. I really loved Spots and Dots, but I had to cut something out. My kids are still little so no sports yet, but Pine's set is really cool. I can't wait to play with the goodies!

How cute to put the ducks in the umbrella for a baby shower invitation. Love that idea! I ordered Scattered Showers -- mainly because the sentiments were just too good to pass up; and love that font, too. Also got all the new buttons, some ribbon, and white cardstock (which I had run out of -- how does one let oneself run out of white cardstock?!!). Oh, and I ordered Simple Alphabet, too. First time I've placed a midnight release nighte order -- so exciting! And, again, love your blog. Thanks for all the inspiration!

You think you can sneak those little details by us, don't you? ;-) We saw those embossed dots behind those umbrellas and the little apricot colored band of cuteness under the lemon tart ribbon! SO LOVELY! Thanks for today's wonderful inspiration!

Hey Mish - I love how you've been tying those bows w/ a button in the front. How do you do them so they're not bulky? Mine seem to be thick and chunky. . .
