Easter 2009

We had a very fun Easter weekend. I made the girls each a tag like this one below when my friend Carmen was here last week. I used the cute Easter set from My Cute Stamps along with some scraps of Cosmo Cricket paper and one of my home made button embellishments. Ribbon is Aqua Mist from Papertrey and the images were colored with Copic markers. Did you see the announcement on Nichole's blog that Papertrey is now going to carry Copics? Very good news!
Here's the Easter baskets filled with goodies. Jordan got this beautiful book about fairies (I'll talk about this another day, I just have to share) and a Webkinz skunk. Josey got an Ipod card, new Ipod headphones and a teeny bop magazine...plus the usual Whoppers Eggs and Reese's Eggs. The girls have used these same green baskets I bought at Target years and years ago. I guess they're a tradition now because every Easter they dig them out, no other basket will do.
My folks came over after church for Easter dinner..gotta love spiral cut ham, cheesy potatoes and mom's chocolate layer dessert! After dinner, Jordan showed us her new fairy book. It was based in the year that Grandpa was born..1933. The book gives some very good information on how to attract flower fairies.
We barely got up Easter decorations this year. Jordan and I pulled these few things out on Saturday. Her colorful, frosted sugar cookies made an adorable centerpiece...that didn't last long once everyone figured out they were actual cookies. Interactive, edible centerpieces...a whole new concept.
And of course we dyed eggs. This year our egg dye kit was glitter themed. You colored the eggs, dipped them in this liquid glue then put them in a bag with glitter and shook them. Very pretty. Next year Josey wants to pick the egg dye kit and she says it's going to be the camo one we told her about. She spent most of the mornings and evenings this weekend turkey hunting with Eric so her attire all weekend was camo colors. No turkey though. Jordan also went to see the new Hanna Montana movie with some friends. She gave it two thumbs up!
Oh, we also flew some kites that the girls got from Eric's folks. It was the perfect weather for kite flying. Soooooo fun and brings back memories from my childhood. What did you do this Easter weekend? I hope you got to spend time with your families and friends.

TIGER BEAT!!! Woooooooooo - they still put that out? I remember reading that when I was a young girl...reading about John Stamos - hubba hubba. Looks like you had a great Easter - love the antique - looking holder that your daughter's cookies are on too....and the cookies! Hey and you're doing your Twitter thing more - that's a fun read as well.

Hey, we didn't have time to decorate either! Sounds like our day was similar, except we had yogurt pie for dessert (would really like to know your mom's chocolate dessert recipe, teehee).
We had a blast on Easter: baskets, egg hunt, Church, dinner, watched Easter Parade, played Wii Music until late...
My twin girls are 13, and we are still in to fairies (I think we have the same book), and Spring is when you are most likely to see them, you know...
Thank you so much for sharing your Easter; it really brightened my morning :)

I love your basket tags. I have to admit that I'm having a head-slapping moment...I love how you tied the tags to the basket. Why did't I think of that? I will definitely remember this...so much better than my method! We too have the basket tradition. I can't remember when I bought the baskets but it has to be almost 10 years ago. I love it! My daughter loves the fairyopolis book...very fun.

Thanks for sharing your Easter with us! you have such a beautiful family! We had the same basket tradition at our house! my kids still have their original baskets that were bought for them first in the 80's.....yikes! We had a great Easter as well, church , dinner at my sister's and Egg hunt with the kids! So fun! Oh, your little Easter basket tags were darling! I really like that set from " My Cute Stamps". I'll have to add that one to my wish list.

Hugs,

Heidi

I've used the same duck basket for my son (he's 4) every year. We visited Grandma and I got to read an actual book that does not rhyme or has pictures of animals. What a treat! I also took a nap one afternoon! double treat!

Last week I made Easter basket tags for my boys. I was inspired by something I read on your blog. I love everything you do!! I could probably be considered a "FaN"! Here's the link to my tags- not nearly as nice as yours- if you are interested. http://scrugglenamp.blogspot.com/2009/04/365-cards-day-40-spring-break-easter.html

We had a wonderfully quiet weekend. Ü I have 4 brothers and none of them were able to get together, so after church it was just us and my parents.

After dinner we played Apples to Apples and had a blast.

Then went home and had ham sandwiches and watched Bedtime Stories. FUN movie!!
