Fluffy Pink Robes...

Are you a robe wearer? I am not. It feels too much like a coat and I rarely wear those either....too many heavy layers. But I do love the feeling that you get when you think of fluffy pink robes, which is why I used Karen Lockhart's Robe stamp for my cards today. Here's all my supplies gathered up.....Lockhart stamp robe image and sentiment, Papertrey buttons, cardstock and ribbon, My Mind's Eye patterned paper, EK Success edger punch, Copics (not shown):The main images for these get well cards came together really quickly. I simply stamped the Robe images onto patterned paper and cut them out with fine tip scissors. To add a little definition to the stamps, I colored in a few areas with a light pink Copic marker. Copics are great for adding just a little shading here and there where needed. Tip: You can use light gray markers to make any color look a little darker, in case you don't have darker shades of a certain color.
I adhered my images to the cardstock with pop dots, then used ribbon and buttons and some messy stitching to finish off the main images. The curvy get well sentiment allowed me to nestle the Robe right in. The rest of the cards are finished off with more patterned paper, velvet ric rac (May Arts) and some curvy cut edging on the bottom of the cards.
Spring is knocking on our door so hopefully this ugly flu season will be behind us soon. Which means the annoying allergy season is here for my husband. He sniffles and snuffles and snores all night long. It means many a sleepless night for me! There are nights where I wish I had a fluffy, pink robe......so I could smother it over his snoring head! (I did not just say that!) Anywayyyy, it's nice to have a few get well cards on hand just in case. Have a great day everyone!

I really like this sketch. I have that paper and always think I have to match the background of the pattern perfectly with the solid paper. You show me everyday that I don't have to do that. I love how you add a color as in aqua mist and it works perfectly.

Your cards are always "jaw-dropping" gorgeous! I like how you've used kraft paper in a lot of your cards lately...makes me want to use it now, just wish I had more hours in the day to create! :)

What an adorable Get Well card!! I have that cute image and sentiment, too :) Is the wavy edge a punch with the holes? I love it!

This is the cutest darn thing ever - and there you go with that paper again. So help me, if I can't find it I'm holding you solely responsible for buying it all up from under the rest of us!

These are so cute!! Love the robe. I am like you robes are cumbersome for me and I don't like to wear a coat if I can get away with it.

Mish, you are brilliant! I would NEVER think to use Copics on patterned paper, and it adds so much to the finished image. I have these two stamps on order, and now I can't wait to receive them! Thanks for your inspiration.

I do have a fluffy pink robe similar to your darling creation and it is wonderful when one doesn't feel well, which my family has had way too much of in the last 10 weeks. Very cute card, I'm sure a sick friend would adore it and be comforted!!!

I LOVE the colors used in these cards - fresh and springy but in a calm and soothing way! Love love love these colors and your cards. And I am currently being kept awake by my SNORING husband (I'm NOT kidding) so I can relate - really!

love your cards! I'm not a robe wearer either. I'm a get up and get dressed to the shoes gal (must come from being raised on a dairy farm).
Sometimes I wish I COULD be a lounge around in jammies person on a lazy day.

Michelle,

Just want to let you know, I start almost every morning off with great inspiration from you. As a matter of fact, I was so interested in your post this morning that I tipped my bowl of oatmeal that I was holding while reading your blog and got soaked with about a half cup of milk! :> Thanks for teaching me so many things. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your blog and your beautiful cards.

You are just too funny!! My hubby snores especially bad in he spring too. I can identify with wanting a pink robe to put over his head. LOL
I just get up and sleep on the couch or use my mp3 player to block the snoring. I need my sleep!!
Love the cards!!
