Stamped thank you labels on cards...

Hey everyone. I'm just gonna say it....it's too damn hot! The girls have been cleaning closets today to earn a back to school clothes shopping day. So they've had lots of laundry which we've been hanging out on the line. I kid you not, by the time we finish hanging a basket of clothes the first items we hang up are dry. Nothing enjoyable about being outside right now. My yard is crunchy, my veggies are toast and we are watering the flowers just to keep them alive for next year. The AC and iced tea are our friends. The end.

But I do have some cool cards to share with you today. Josey needed a few birthday thank you cards to send to the grandparents so I wanted to make some extra cute ones. My cards were inspired by this pretty piece of patterned paper from Fancy Pants. If you click on the link and scroll down you can see the entire line of Summer Soul. Very pretty colors with a Summer beach theme. I purchased quite a bit of this line so I could scrap some photos of the girls in the pool. A few of my favorites were the 6 x6 pad, the chipboard banners, the rub ons, element stickers and the coconut tree paper.
The cards started with a square of the patterned paper adhered to the card front. Then I layered on 2 types of Washi tape and a strip of the Heyday Aqua Polka Dots Fabrips. I stapled over those layers with my Tiny Attacher then added some aqua baker's twine. For the sentiment I used a few of my Grid Paper Labels that I stamped with a frame from My Mind's Eye (can't locate the link at 2peas) and a thank you sentiment from Studio Calico's Summer School Stamp set. I really love stamping on the labels from my shop. They take ink nicely and it's so easy to stamp a whole sheet of sentiments to use now or later for cards, etc.
On the bottom of my cards I used a Papertrey border die which I cute in half and stitched to my card front.
On the inside of the cards I used more stamps from the sets mentioned above. For the fade away sentiment I just stamped the images 2-3 times without re-inking my stamp.
I hope you enjoy today's cards. I've been getting a lot of comments and emails from you, telling me how much you miss my Papertrey creations and cards in general here on the blog. Thank you all for the nice notes. I have something in the works that I think you'll like. It means you'll be seeing lots more cards on my blog with an added bonus for those of you who like to purchase from my shop. I've got some planning, prepping, shopping, organizing and creating to do so please hang with me as I get my ducks in a row. I'll still be adding in Project Life updates plus lots of packaging ideas so there should be something for everyone. Hey, sometimes it gets a little quiet in the comments section.....is this something you card lovers will be excited about?? Let me know your thoughts. :)

I have been following your blog for quite a while now but have never commented. I love your mishy-mashy style. Your fun creations make me smile. I am a multi-layer, can't -get-enough-embellishments-on-my- cards kind of girl BUT I do love your designs. So fresh and the colors are always so pretty. Can't wait for more!

It was great to catch a glimpse of you at Stamp-A-Faire. Excited to see what you have cooking, well, besides your garden, and yourselves. Wish I could send some cool Portland, OR air. Our gardens are lagging tho.

I'm sure you are experiencing relief from being out from under the challenge of Papertrey's monthly work load. I don't see how all of you met the demands of so many projects every month. Glad you will still be making cards because I'm a cardmaker. I'll stay tuned to see what's up next.

I am so excited for upcoming and future card posts! I was so sad you left the PTI design team, I grieved,I have posted it here many times since you left. Your projects were some of my most favorites along with your stamp sets you helped design. I love everything you present on your blog though and when I was checking out your blog on my lunch hour I could not wait to get home to post in your comment section today. Also, I came home and the milk glass delivery was at my doorstep that I bought from your store, it arrived safe and sound, love it! I am going to put stamping/papercrafting items in them on my desk here in my craft room. Thank you for your inspiration and time that you take out of your busy schedule to blog.
