Holiday crafting...

A few new things...

Did a little shopping while in the city. Here's what I picked up: 3-D star stickers + fun sticker notes from Martha Stewart @ Michael's. I'm thinking those little stickers will be perfect for Project Life and to use in my December Daily. I also got some Lily Bee holiday paper and a few of the new Basic Grey Picadilly papers from my local scrapbook store. The candy cane striped address labels are from Target. A wonderfully fun mix of goodies that I can't wait to use. I'm thinking holiday tags for my Kraft paper wrapping.....

Something yummy...

And here's a recipe that I've had requests for lately so I thought I would share it here on the blog too. Best pancakes ever. Tip: If you run out of syrup, boil together brown sugar and butter. We sometimes have to do this when we have a big bunch of giggly girls over.

Amish Pancakes ( from The Amish Cook at Home cookbook)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon plus 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/3 cups milk
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 egg, beaten

Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Cook until golden brown.

Coming soon...

Project Life layouts. I've been working hard to get caught up and have completed EIGHT past weeks recently. I'll be sharing them all on the blog.

Holiday Journal. Time has slipped away from me this week but I'm planning on assembling my base pages today and over the weekend. Check for this post next week.

Basketball. Jordy had her first game last night. She scored the first 3 lay ups and was 2 for 2 on her free throws. 10 points total! Score one for our first Lady Cats victory of the season!!

So tell me....are you doing a December Daily? Keeping up with your Project Life? Going to start Project Life in 2012. Have a kid that plays basketball? Would love to hear what you've got going on. Have a great weekend everyone!

I have the very first Project Life kit from Becky Higgins which I plan to start on Jan 1, 2012. Shame on me for waiting so long.

You rock for being so on top of your PL... I have an 17 month old who would, I am sure, appreciate if her mother would hurry up and work on that first year scrapbook - considering I had the oldest's done before her birthday.

Oops.

Compared to yours, mine is a terribly quiet life... but my kids aren't even in preschool yet. My time will come!

Michelle, I love your blog. I used your tutorial for your folder planners with great results. Thanks so much!! I am planning on doing a December Daily journal. Bought new papers to play with. Hope I get it done!

Mish, I have always enjoyed your blog for many reasons. Someone just shared a video with me and I thought you would appreciate looking at it too. It made me both cry and smile, so be warned; you may need tissue.

Our youngest son played basketball, but he is now grown and away at college. I remember going to all of the sporting events and band concerts. Loads of fun, but sometimes basketball can be a cruel mistress! I have wanted to do a Dec Daily, but I don't think my empty nest life would be all that interesting! Love your blog and all of your projects! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring all of us!

Can't wait to see your project life pages! I always take away lots of good ideas. I do have 1 daughter that is playing basketball right now. The 2 younger ones are playing softball & are even playing thru the fall & winter & my oldest is a freshman in college & is playing softball for the Toledo Rockets! I started project life in June of 2011 & LOVE it so I will be getting the Cobalt edition for my 2012 project life! Cant wait!!

Wow, aren't we all just so busy. My babies are little and don't play basketball, even though I played for 11 years. I am not sure that I can keep up with project life but this will be my 3rd year doing a December daily, just waiting for my goodies to arrive to work on my pages.

Hey Mish, First of all...I was SO sad to hear that you're stepping down from PTI SDT. HOWEVER, I was SO inspired to read your post about your kids and your parents and your life priorities. I truly believe God used you that day to speak to me because I needed to hear the same thing...sometimes the line between our hobbies and jobs get blurred and we need a wake-up call to readjust our time and priorities. So, thanks for that and I look forward to your projects and continued inspiration. Next, I am so excited to see your PL pages! Congrats on getting caught up. I scrapbook, but have needed a boost to get caught up, so I'm excited to start PL for 2012 to capture all the daily stuff that gets put in a box or a file or simply gets lost. And, lastly, I bought your December Daily Holiday kit and am excited to see your ideas and get started with that! So much goodness, so little time. Thanks again for all your continued inspiration! =o)

I started a December Daily journal a couple of years ago after being inspired by yours. . .keyword here is "started"! I now know that I just don't have the discipline to keep up with a daily ANYTHING, so I just completed a quilt and took it to the quilter on Wednesday. One Christmas gift down! And today I'm starting my Christmas cards, and I'm really looking forward to it.

This will be my 4th year doing the December Daily and each year it gets better and more fun to do. I'm still on the fence with starting Project Life. I think mainly because my son is a senior this year and I've already missed so much since the school year has started. I have the "big" details in the family scrapbook but as I think back, I'm a little sad I missed the little things. Decisions, decisions.......

Enjoy reading your blog & seeing what you have been up to. My DS doesn't play basketball but is totally into a pile of other sports so lots of photos & running around. I started Project Life this year and am loving it. Have used it in my own way (not picture a day) and totally up to date for 2011 - oh, what a good feeling :-) Have already pre-ordered Cobalt for 2012 and looking forward to carrying on.

I love looking at your PL pages, they are always creative, fun and I get very inspired. I am doing a December Daily project this year, I did do one last year, but it was more journaling and using stamps, patterned paper, cardstock, ect. This year I want to add more pictures. I have most of it together. I agree with Ali Edwards that it is best to get the foundation pages and have a plan before December arrives.
I love the products you have shown today in the picture. I have a few of those things from M's and will be going to Target today. Thank you for always sharing your time and creativity.

I worry I won't have anything interesting to document every day or week?? Did you have this problem? How did you keep up with the photos, do you print every week or did you print at home?
