Scrapbooking Weekend Here I Come!!!

I'm going on one of my twice a year scrapbooking trips on Friday! I have been packing, printing photos, organizing my piles of scrapbooking supplies and paper, buying more stuff that I don't need.........and getting my Becky Sketches ready!!! I bought her book which contains ALL of her sketches so that is a must have at this cropping weekend. And I also take past issues of CK magazine so I can see even more layouts. I usually get about 30-40 pages done over the weekend and it's in big part to Becky's helpful sketch ideas. While all my girlfriends are trying to figure out layouts, I simply turn to a Becky Sketch and get to work. Voila, it's that easy!! My friend Carmen came over this week and we made goody sacks for our scrapping friends. There are six of us going and we stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday at a nice hotel. We went their board room and one attached bedroom. We rarely all sleep at the same time so two beds are plenty....somebody always end up sleeping in a chair or over their pile of layouts or under the table. It's all good.

Anyway, my friend Piney would get a kick out of these bags. She gave me the inspiration for the tags and she will love to hear that the entire sack ensemble is from supplies we already had. Carmen got the brown sacks from her hair salon. I got the tissue from a gift shop that was closing, COOL May Arts polka dot ribbon from Cindy Lyles at StarLitStudio, buttons from my stash and Dew Drops from Ellen's store. We also tucked in folded up paper grocery sacks so each person will have their own trash bag. The tag is cut from a Spellbinder's Die Template...you need this tag one, it's so fun! The monogram letters were a last minute addition from my SU! chipboard letters. We colored them with Versamagic chalk ink, worked like a charm.
Each scrapper will get a name tag for their scrapping bag. I dug out these really hard plastic baseball card holders I had in my stash and we just started creating. The cute stamp is from Bella Stamps...she's all ready to go with her little rolling tote. We paper pieced the polka dot dress..Carmen about freaked when she learned how to do that!!!
Here's my tag below. I had to custom design mine to match my all time most favorite tool bag from All My Memories. It's pink and brown and my tag matches so perfectly!! May Arts ribbon from Cindy again at StarLitStudio, this time in a big fat pink and brown polkadot variety! Paper is from Love Elsie available at Eclectic Paperie. The little metal charm is from the CK scrapbook convention......for $2 bucks, I shoulda bought one for everybody!

Well, I'm off to do some last minute packing. No need for lots of clothes, we wear the same pajamas for like 2 days straight!! I do however shower and put on makeup and clean underwear, I just feel more prepared and you never know when someone famous like Becky or Elsie or Lisa Bearnson might drop in to scrap with us! I've also got to finish my share of the snacks.....I'm making Texas Caviar Dip with tortilla chips. The rest of the girls are bringing meats, cheeses and crackers and POP! (yes, we say POP here in Kansas) Gotta have that caffeine. I will be so wired by the time I come home on Sunday. I'll be dead tired but so gassed up on caffeine and so hyper from the lack of sleep and all those scrapbook pages I will have completed that I probably won't sleep at all!! It's all good though...........til someone drops an eyelet!!!!!! (Saw that on a CK convention tshirt and laughed out loud!) I'll be sure to show you some of my favorite layouts when I return. I'll be back on Monday!!!

Looks like so much fun - even all the prep! I'm so happy to hear that you say POP! I thought us Canadians were the only ones who said that. I've only ever heard Americans say SODA!
