Project Life 2013.....Week 24

Hi everyone, we're winding down to a screeching halt to sweet Summertime, it seems.  Tonight the girls go to a midnight lock-in practice for volleyball, then it's 2-a-day practices then it's back to school Thursday.  We feel like Summer has slipped away and we want more time.  But alas, it is what it is and school will start this week.  I will be kind of glad to get back to a work schedule since I work out of the home but I'm not ready to see my reds head back to school and have so many practices and homework every night.  I know many of you feel the same way.

On to Project Life, today I'm sharing Week 24 which is a month back in June.  We were knee deep in volleyball and Summer sports.
Here's my 2 page spread which has a 6 x 12 insert of my flower beds.
Here's the spread without the insert.  Lots and lots of photos this week.
The left page....
The right page....at this point in my Project Life pages I'm trying to keep the 4 x6 inserts to full size photos.  I love the look and it takes up way less time to get the spread finished.
I loved this vintage image from one of the August Gossamer Blue Kits.  I paired it with the gold foil quote bubble insert and typed the fun sentiment.  So true around here.
Here I used some of the stamps I designed for the August kits.  I love stamping the frames onto patterned paper then cutting out the shapes.
Here I typed on a Notebook Paper Label for journaling.
I used another Notebook Paper Label here with typed facts about our pool + I added another stamped shape from the August stamps from Gossamer Blue.
This was kind of fun....I attached a piece of patterned paper that has typed journaling onto the top of the photo.  There was blank space so it worked out well.  Poor Josey fell really hard and sprained her ankle at Summer volleyball.
Some fun vintage finds of an old cutting board which I love to use for food display, a heavy metal silver tray and some old cafe style cups and saucer.
A simple tag with typing for some journaling.
The 3 x 4 inserts.  New walking shoes and a photo of Baby, the spoiled kitten.
Love this old barn wood paper from the August GB kit.  Lots of stickers from the kits for borders and dates.  I used one of my Notebook Paper Labels above a square photo with a border sticker on top.  I love how it looks like one piece with a sticker over the top.
Some prints right from my phone...the weather and a text from Josey.
Oh Lord, the cankle photo.  This is Josey's foot after she took the shoe off after we got home from that volleyball game. We called the doctor the very next morning for x-rays.  Wow, that was one swollen ankle!
Here's the 6 x 12 insert.  I printed a photo out to 6 x 8 and used two horizontal slots to hold the photo which I cut in half.
I used a Small Manila Parcel Tag with more of the October Afternoon border sticker for journaling. I really like that simple touch of the sticker.
Here's the back side of the insert with photos from Father's Day. This year we gave Eric an old crate full of frozen steaks, some beer and a variety of BBQ sauces, rubs and marinades.  Best gift ever! I saw there are some sites that offer a BBQ sauce of the month type club....that might just be a good Christmas gift for the men folk around here.
I used a Medium Manila Parcel Tag to note the event and date with my typewriter.  I used a snippet of patterned paper for a little color on the tag.
Another week in the books. Hope I'm not boring you to death with my Project Life pages.  :)

Project Life 2013.....Week 23 using August Gossamer Blue Kits

Back today to share Week 23 of my Project Life.  This week was just full of photos so it's a busy layout, including a few inserts.
For my supplies, I lots of Gossamer Blue's August Life Pages kit items + some items from the regular GB kits.
If you ordered any kits from Gossamer Blue this month, you'll definitely notice the travel theme.  We were not traveling at the time I made this layout but the travel items were still put to good use.  We were on the go constantly with the girls' Summer ball activities so I used the travel items to show our "on the go" activities.
I had photos filling almost every spot this week so I used lots of embellishments, tags and journaling cards.
My main, dated insert which sets the tone for the week.  I used the fun car themed 4 x 6 cards that our great GB designers created.  Plus the "we are here" stamp is also from Gossamer Blue.  The Small Manila Parcel tag worked perfectly for that stamp.
Love how this mouse embellishment fit perfectly with sleeping Charlie.
Fun die cuts, tags and a paper clip from the Life Pages kit.
Some of the  3 x 4 inserts....
I liked this little discovery.  I typed on my Notebook Paper Labels then stuck them on my journaling cards.  I used a sticker from the October Afternoon border sheet to cover up the bottom.  Love that look. Note:  September's Gossamer Blue Life Pages kit will have something very special to use with my Notebook Paper Labels and my Grid Paper Labels.  You might want to stock up on a few. :)
More labels and the exclusive Gossamber Blue stamp set designed by Elle's Studio.
Stickers for a small title combined with typewriter journaling + I love this journaling card paired with my vintage Airstream camper find.
Here I have an 8.5 x 11 insert which holds the girls' basketball and volleyball schedules for Summer League.
I typed a note about how strenuous this schedule was.  We weren't very happy that nearly 2 months of Summer was taken up with ball this year.
The back side of the insert holds a scrapbook page I did which uses a note from our lender that a vehicle we own was paid off.  I use a journaling card (not shown) to note all of the items we paid off this year.  Kind of an odd addition to our scrapbooks but a great way to show some hard work and progress.  I thought it fit into the travel themed paper by October Afternoon.  Love that piece of Travel Girl patterned paper.
That's it for this week.  Thanks for stopping by.

New website......Gossamer Blue is working hard behind the scenes to create a brand new website.  It will have forums, galleries and all the links to the shop and main blog.  I've seen some peeks and I think it will be great when up and running.  Stay tuned.....

Sneak Peeks....the 15th is right around the corner and I have some fun peeks to share of what's coming to Gossamer Blue for September.  Lori hit this one right on the money so be prepared to love ALL the kits.  The Life Pages kit is fantastic and loaded to the brim with fun embellishments and papers.

August Gossamer Blue...good life cards

Today I have some cards to share which use products from the August Gossamer Blue kits + the "oh happy day" sentiment from my stash.
I started with patterned paper backgrounds from October Afternoon.
I stamped my sentiment on an index card then also stamped and trimmed out the sentiment from the Gossamer Blue stamp set.
Each card has a horizontal strip of patterned paper or border sticker from October Afternoon.
I finished each card with some stitching and little embellishments or stickers.
A nice little stack of cards for my stash.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your week is off to a good start!

Project Life 2013....Week 22

Just found a bunch of Project Life weeks that I hadn't shared yet so here we go with Week 22.  I'll be skipping around my weeks but should be more on schedule after August.
I was in catch up mode when working on this spread so I reached for lots of handmade journaling cards that I had in my stash.  Plus I had just gotten my first Gossamer Blue Life Pages stamps so I wanted to try them out.
This was Memorial Day week and the girls were still in full swing with Summer League volleyball and basketball.  Plus I was just getting some porch planters filled.
We had some beautiful scenery from Mother Nature this week and had a fun time at my niece's graduation party.
Every single year we go to the Memorial Day service at our small cemetery.  Like clockwork the ceremony starts at 10:15 am.  I typed right onto the photo and added a date stamp and some stickers to note the week.
Volleyball in full swing.  I used some stamps to add images directly to the photo.
Some trimmed out images from the first Gossamer Blue stamps from the August kits. I've been picking up like new stuffed animals for Charlie from the Good Will store.  He loves on them then tears their eyes out.
More stamps from the Gossamer Blue kits.  On the right one, I typed inside the stamp while the image was still on a larger sheet of patterned paper....then trimmed out the image.
My niece just graduated from paramedic school....and someone who is as short as Josey. :)
Some pork butts on the smoker and this hilarious photo of Charlie.  He will do anything for a snack..like wear Jordan's basketball headband.
I love these two pretty inserts.  I added chipboard and sequins and a little gold foil tag from the shop.
I love capturing photos like Eric's ketchup blobs.  The dude puts ketchup on everything and it irritates me to no end.  I set a nice home cooked meal in front of him and he slops ketchup on it before he even tires it.  I get creepy chills just looking at that photo.  On the right, I'm happy to have snapped this photo of Josey laying on the church pew, covered up with an old quilt.
Here I add a printed quote that I just love and am really taking to heart.  The hoarder in me has a hard time parting with things but each time I go to clean out an area, I think about this.  I give myself about 10 seconds to make a definite YES or NO choice.  I need to make this into a poster.
That's it for this week.  I'm looking forward to a busy weekend, kicking things off with a movie tonight then it's all about canning jalapeno jellies this weekend.  Josey is headed off to the lake with a friend.  We're all about enjoying these last two weeks before school starts.  I don't want Summer to end!

Note:  I know a few of you are anticipating my post about my new calendar system for Project Life.  I haven't forgot about it....but it just might have to wait until school starts so that I can spend time with my family.  I'm hoping to incorporate it into some posts that show my current Project Life work area, some organization and more.  So it won't be long.  :)
